A destination to warm the heart and renew the spirit. This home exudes nothing short of love and thoughtfulness in every eclectic, personal touch. Add such elements as the glory of a sweeping mountain and sea view which may include majestic Mt. Baker and the ferries leaving Fairhaven for Alaska.
Enjoy a relaxing hot tub, a voice of a nearby songbird, and a visual symphony of flowers, and you will be quick to grasp a little piece of paradise. There are many exciting places to visit close to Lummi Island. Bellingham is just a short 20 minute drive from Lummi Island. Indeed Bellingham has been voted one of the top ten places to retire in the nation,in part due to the abundance of outdoor activities such as hiking,bike trials and public parks.
We are also close enough to Canada for exciting day trips. Bring your passport as Vancouver, beautiful Victoria on Vancouver Island,and Harrison Hot Springs are all within reach. Closer to home visit Historic Fairhaven, a small art and craft community with Victorian and Craftsman style homes, shops and great food. Fairhaven is right next door to Bellingham. and you can see it from our deck. As well you can view the ferries leaving for Alaska, and on many days majestic Mt.Baker.
Check our activities links for whale watching trips that include a stop in Victoria with a salmon dinner on the way home. There are high speed water trips to Friday Harbor, on San Juan Island. For longer day trips leave from Anacortes on one of the large state run ferries. You can stop at several Islands along the way. Another fun place to visit is La Conner, a little further south of us.
It is a wonderful small town with a very sophisticated art museum, more shops and eateries. Seattle is approximately 120 miles from our island. If you want to spend a day in a beautiful city without crossing a border, it is waiting for you. Come and accept your invitation.You and your loved ones undeniably deserve it.
