The apartment is as charming as it looks in the pictures and it is in a wonderful location. I am new to apartment vacations and I am so glad I did it. We had 2 women and 2 teens and were very comfortable. The conceirges were very pleasant and helpful. LOL This is so clinical and does not at all reflect what a wonderful time we had and how great the apartment is. When I go back to Paris I will be getting this apartment again!

My husband and I stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment is conveniently located close to the Opera Metro, some eating establishments, two nearby grocery stores, and there is a lovely pastry shop just down the street. We got around easily to everywhere we wanted to go. We took the Roissy bus from the airport to the Opera Metro and then it was a short walk to the apartment. Carmen and Mauro are wonderful to deal with and will answer all questions by email before you go, and you may call them from the phone in the apartment if you need to while in Paris. It was a bonus to have the computer in the apartment to use. We received our security deposit one week after we departed. One thing to keep in mind is that it can get a bit noisy with traffic - especially motorcycles coming through every so often. Because of this, we needed to have the windows closed. It was never too noisy for my husband, but I'm a light sleeper, so I needed to have the windows closed at night. New on-site caretakers had just begun working at this building the weekend we arrived. They were very sweet and kind, but do not speak English. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

My first experience with VRBO and it will stand out above any standard 3 or 4 star European hotel as more memorable. Lots of room for family of four and flexibility because of central location in arrondissment 2 near old operat house, to take a break from touring Paris, eat in for convenience and the kids could connect to friends at home through convenient wifi service included. The owners were personal and provided details of location, hours of access, support once the booking was confirmed and security deposit submitted. I have already recieved my deposit back.

We wanted to thank you guys for providing your apartment for our trip to Paris. The location was great and Victoria and her husband were great people. We had great 6 days in Paris. The apartment felt like home and much better then a hotel room, it was clean and had everything we needed during our stay. It was so close to metro, stores, restaurants and museums. Thank you again for everything, hope to rent your Rome location for our next trip……….

This was the last apartment we stayed in on our 4 wk Italy-Paris adventure. It was easy to access using the Opera bus from the airport and walking 3 blocks to the apartment complex. Unbelievable! We squeezed 4 adults into this apartment, and for us it was a little crowded only because it was a loft and you were always in each other's space. It would be ideal for a younger family, although it is perfectly set up for 4. It was much bigger than a hotel in Paris would be and much more comfortable. The pictures are an exact representation of the space. It is chic without being uncomfortable. Mauro and Carmen were in Paris the same weekend we arrived and ensured our comfort during that heatwave by purchasing a dehumidifier and additional fan. There is no AC but we were comfortable at night with the fans. I've read some people complain about the kitchen size but must admit I cooked all meals quite easily and never had a problem. There is a window in the kicthen overlooking the courtyard which gives you a good breeze while creating culinary delights. Eating out would have been easy as you are centrally located and restaurants, grocery stores, boulangeries etc. are all within a 5 min. promenade. It was a 10 minute walk to the Louvre from here once we discovered the efficient route. Every tourist site in Paris is accessible by foot from this apartment, but it is sooo easy to get lost. Give your feet a break every other day and take the metro which is also easy to access from here. I have been recommending this apartment to all my friends that annually visit Paris and stay in hotels. This apartment is sheer luxury and there is a whirlpool bath which just makes recovering from sight-seeing that much easier. Highly recommend this accomodation.

The apartment was fantastic for our family of three. It was comfortable, clean and quite spacious. It was in an excellent location making our stay very relaxed; we could sleep in and still had plenty of day left to visit all the sites. The spa bath was a delight after a busy day on the cobbles stones. The kitchen was a bit of a challenge to work in being quite small but it was well equipped. although the toaster only toasts one side, the kettle has a tricky little switch and the washing machine is a nightmare for an non European to understand. All that is missing is a chopping board and some wine glasses. We really enjoyed the Chinese restaurant that was just down stairs. The food was great and we were treated like family. There were plenty of places to eat and shops all near-by, everything you could want. The owners were very informative and the caretakers very helpful. I would highly recommend this property.

Spent a week in Paris at this excellent property. Location was superb for our family of four's needs, literally 3 minutes from Opera Garnier. Communication with the owners was quick and clear. They gave us flawless instructions on how to get to the property from the airport - we used the Roissy Bus that dropped us off at the Opera for the short walk to the apartment. The property was very clean and well maintained. Lots of little extras, like sightseeing books and DVDs for guests to use. There are dozens and dozens of restaurants nearby, as well as several metro stops. I know it's sounds funny - we're in Paris after all - but there was a McDonalds less than 100 meters from the apartment which can save the day when your children are picky eaters. Plus a grocery store just a bit farther. I thought the description and photos were very accurate in describing the apartment. We loved our stay in this apartment and hope we have the opportunity to return someday. The whole rental experience was easy and smooth. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the spacious studio for two weeks. Everything was as advertised except that there is no dryer, and if you stay two weeks it becomes important. The owners were very responsive and accommodating to questions and concerns, even though they don't live in Paris. The location was fantastic, the size of the studio, the bed, the linens, the dining table, the bathroom were all great. We stayed during the coldest time of the year and the place was always warm. Plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure in the bathroom! The only negative for us was the kitchen, which is absolutely tiny, so if you are a cook, you will have to manage in very close quarters. That does not mean though, that we lacked any utensils, pots, condiments, etc. Everything was there, except for a skillet, an item which the owner was kind enough to authorize us to buy. We did not, but they were willing to pay for it! Even though the apartment faces the street, the windows had excellent sound proof. The books and maps about Paris, were a nice and helpful touch, as well as the magazines, and even a couple of reading books in English! The bed was large and comfortable, and they provide a change of towels and linen service every week. We would definitely want to stay there again, and to continue exploring Paris from this desirable location!

We went to Paris for my birthday treat and from the moment we walked in we felt completely at home. We had a warm welcome from the concierge who was very friendly and showed us around. Everything we needed was there and we truly felt as though we were privileged guests in a friend’s home. The apartment could not be better placed for transport, attractions and shops – 5 minutes walk from the big Metro interchange at Opera, from the stores on Bvd Haussman and from the Roissy Bus to the airport. Much attention has been paid to the decoration to create a cosy but chic ambiance. In short: perfect.

My husband and I stayed in the Opera apartment for 6 nights in September. It was a great location, just minutes from the Opera metro station. For anyone flying into CDG, this location is ideal, as there is a bus (the Roissy bus) that runs from the airport directly to the Opera metro for only 9 euros. It is much easier than catching the train/metro and much less expensive than a taxi. The apartment is a 10 minute walk from the Louvre and the Seine. A longer walk will take you to St. Germain and other areas. When you're not up for walking, the metro is so close. The neighborhood was safe, and the apartment was very quiet (with the windows closed). There are plenty of places close by to grab breakfast before you start your day. The one drawback to the area is that the neighborhood itself is not much of a destination--we didn't spend very much time in the immediate area. That said, it was so easy to get anywhere we wanted to go either walking or by metro that it didn't matter too much. The apartment itself was much bigger than expected, with the exception of the kitchen. The bathroom was very large, by European standards, and the living space was also very large for a studio apartment (by any country's standards). It was really nice to come back to the apartment for a break and be able to relax on the couch or at the table without having to sit on the bed, like you would at a hotel. The kitchen was on the small side--though we never tried to cook, it might be a challenge to do anything major in the space. For quick, easy meals, it shouldn't be a problem. There was no AC that we could find, so it might get warm if you were staying during the summer. We were a little warm even in September--opening the windows helps, but there is quite a bit of street noise (from cars, not people) so there is a trade-off. The windows do keep all of the sound out if closed, though. Check-in was a breeze, and we were able to drop our luggage earlier than the check-in time with no problems. We were also given our deposit refund within a few days of checking out. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at the Opera apartment. I would definitely recommend it to others.

We stayed at the apartment for 12 nights and found it to be perfectly situated to see all the sites we wanted to go to.The Metro was a very short walk away,we walked to the Lourve,Galleries Layfette, food markets, shops and restaurants and were happy to come across quite by accident the Japanese restaurant area close to the apartment which had dozens of great Japanese restaurants to eat at.The apartment itself was very warm, well set up and felt like home.We strongly recommend it to other travellers.

What a great location! Very near the Opera, multiple metro stations- so easy to get around from here, and a lovely area to wander on foot. This was one of the largest apartments I've rented in Europe, and certainly the most well equipped! I had resigned myself to curly (read frizzy) hair for the whole of our vacation, but thanks to Carmella's thoughtful placement of electrical devices, I was able to have myself in some of our travel photos. Everything went without a single glitch- the wealth of information we received ahead of time made getting to the apartment super easy. A great visit- thanks so much!

We stayed here last week and found it to be very charming. For the price & location, you cannot beat! Big living room / bedroom, centrally located, and a great bakery meters from the apt. The internet access was instantly resolved; however, we could not figure out the washer / dryer since we don't know French. I really appreciate the owners quick responses and fast deposit refund process. I would recommend this establishment and hope to stay here again.

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) stayed in the Opera apartment in late June. The location is superb: about 2 blocks from the Opera Metro and 3 blocks from the direct bus to CDG airport. It was a great base to explore Paris. There is a nice patisserie a few doors down and a grocery store a few blocks away. One hint: although the apartment is on a quiet street, bring earplugs so that you can leave the windows open to catch the breeze at night without fear of disturbance. The loft-style layout is perfect for a couple or family with 2 kids. We were able to fix some meals in the kitchen, which saved us quite a bit. Thanks for a great stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Carmen & Mauro's Opera Apartment in early June 2008 and had a wonderful experience. This was the first time I rented an apartment and was a little apprehensive. However, everything went off "without a hitch." The directions to the apartment were outstanding. Once we arrived, Victoria was there to show us to our room, which looked EXACTLY like the pictures on the website. We received our initial deposit within a week of our return. It was a seamless and hassle-free process. Two Metro stops are literally a 2- or 3- minute walk away--Opera and Quatre Septembre. Opera is a great metro stop because 3 different metro lines go through here, making access to other parts of the city quick. My favorite feature of the apartment was the location. Getting from Charles de Galle airport couldn't be simpler--just hop on the Roissybus. Other than a few stops at the other CDG terminals, the only other stop was the Opera (about a 45 minute ride). From there, it was a short 5-minute walk to the apartment. I also liked that I felt very safe in this neighborhood, which is in the financial district. Most people wore suits. A bank takes up the entire block directly across the street. Of course, there were tons of restaurants in the area, including many sidewalk cafes along Blvd. des Italiens. A bakery and small grocery/convenience store are literally next door if you need a quick snack to bring back to the apartment. The bed was very comfortable, and the ceiling fan directly above it kept us cool all night. Overall, we had a great stay and will stay here again when we return. Please feel free to email me with any questions.

2007/9/25 Dear Carmen & Mauro, we are very late in sending you a thank you note. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in your apartment and will recommend it to friends. Your email directions and organization were superb and we appreciated the instructions on computer & t.v. use. It was clean, comfortable, friendly/warm and in a convenient location. Of course we did not know that we would be staying in the apartment for so many hours, due to Victor's injury. It came in very handy as we could make ice and had room to relax. Your trust in people also made us feel very welcome, as we trust people as well. The use of the computer was most helpful since I didn't need to walk to the internet cafe (also conveniently located! as was the Air France office) and leave Victor alone. We cannot say enough about Lucien & Victoria. I could not find ice cubes for sale in the stores & they gave me some from their home and came to check on us after the metro assault. On our last night they offered to drive us to Notre Dame but we declined their generous & friendly offer. They brought us a bottle of wine to take home & that was very sweet of them. We left them some chocolates & a thank you note but would like to mail them a letter of thanks. Would you mind emailing their last name so I can send a card? Thank you for your hospitality and take care. Your apartment made us feel at home even though the Paris portion of our trip was otherwise ruined. FYI, Victor's injuries are so severe & bruises so deep that he still walks with a bad limp 2 weeks later. Swelling of the calf, ankle & foot are very apparent. We never experienced anything like this but are glad nothing more serious happened. Doctors say it will take a month to recover. C'est la vie. Best Regards, Barbara & Victor p.s. thanks for the prompt return of our deposit.

Dear Carmen & Mauro Just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful stay at CaMallo between Christmas and New Year. The stay was a Christmas gift for a couple of young people who had never visited Paris before. I hoped it would be a magical and romantic experience for them and it truly was! Carmen and Mauro, What a wonderful time we had at your home in Paris. Everything was just as you said, and close to everything. We would leave in the morning and return in the late afternoon to rest, and enjoy some wine and cheese snacks before going out to dinner. We left town for three days and traveled to Rouen, the Beaches of Normandy and Mont-Saint-Michel. It was so nice to be able to leave our bags and not worry about them. After staying in small hotels for two nights we could hardly wait to get back to our Paris home. Victoria was there to greet us, she was such a sweet lady. So my birthday in Paris turned out to be ten wonderful days, thank you so much for everything. I've told my friends if they want to live like the french they must try an apartment. I would be very happy to send them to you. I received my deposit back today, again may I say thank you and wish you Happy Holidays..The Three Lovely Ladies from Minnesota. Mary Jane, Colleen & Vicki

The highlight of our 10th anniversary trip to France has been our stay in Paris in Carmen and Mauro apartment. On previous visits to Paris, we have stayed at some lovely hotels, but now we are totally spoiled by staying in an apartment. We hope to return as soon as possible! When you enter, you are first wowed by the charming décor, a lovely eclectic mix of antiques and modern furnishings. Also important, all of the appliances/bedding/plumbing fixtures are top quality. We also loved the location in the 2th: There are lovely cafes and restaurants within walking distance, and you are at the center of everything with a lot of choices as for the transports. We used the "the tube" and the buses quite a lot, and really enjoyed that. After a day of exploring, coming back to our beautiful and comfortable apartment to put our feet up for a while was so wonderful. We have also found from experience that even if a rental property is totally charming, it's only as good as the owners behind it. In their pre-planning and while you're at the apartment, Carmen and Mauro and and their local contact (Victoria) are just as perfect as their apartment. There are detailed instructions on how to use everything in the apartment ! We obviously highly recommend renting the apartment by Carmen and Mauro. You will be so delighted!

We spent the most wonderful 14 days in Paris in the appartment of Carmen and Mauro! We can honestly say that there was no better place we could choose. The location was wonderful and very useful since we were there on business purpose. We were always on time because there is a metro station nearby. We also had the opportunity to live like real Parisians because of the comfort in the appartment. We could cook, we could take a shower and jacuzzi after the busy day, we could watch TV and check our mail every single day! In common - we felt like we were home. Not to mention that the atmosphere was wonderful. The appartment is a real inspiration and we will remember it forever! Thank you Carmen and Mauro!

Our stay (19/1-26/1) at Carmen and Mauro apartment was perfect. The location could not be better. Food in the area is fabulous. The apartment had everything that one needs and was a big change from staying in hotels. It is much more relaxing in your own apartment instead of a hotel room. The other tenants in the building are very nice and we were surprised to find it so quiet being in the middle of the city. The subway and shopping is so convenient. We found everything we needed. We hope to return soon and would highly recommend to all of friends, etc.

When Mauro was able to rent the appartment for part of the time I was to occupy it, he refunded half of my deposit and assured me that the other half could serve as partial payment for a future visit. It is so nice to know there are still kind and honest people in the world!! I am hoping to venture to Paris sometime this next year and am very excited to stay in this beautiful apartment. We stayed in Paris as a Graduation gift to my son Colby's girlfriend Kenzie who just graduated High School in the US. It was the trip of her dreams and the apartment was the icing on the cake. The apartment is just as Mauro represented it. The location in Opera was perfect. The area seems very safe. Restaurants, shopping and sight seeing abound in this area! The metro was easy to navigate and handy! The apartment itself was cozy. The value for the apartment is great, especially compared to staying in a hotel room. Having the internet/e-mail/tv was very handy! Although the kitchen is small it was awesome to have! The lighting is somewhat low for putting make-up on but we did fine. We'll definitely rent this apartment again and cannot wait to return to Paris!

I stayed in Mauro and Carmen's place dans la 18 Rue de la Michodere in Paris. The place is near the Opera and very central. You can virtually take the Roissybus from CDG to the apartment for about $ 11 pp. The 2 floor apartment is quiet because it is located in a side street. Samll but well equipped kitchen, bath, washer; it is all there. the place has a very modern Italian touch due the origin of its owners. Mauro and Carmen's great collection of classical music (and opera) from Bach to Chopin and Puccini make this place really special. Ideal for Paris travelers who are a la decouverte de la ville lumiere or the City of Lights. C'est si bon. Have fun.

We have loved our stay at 18 Rue de la Michodere! Both owners have been extremely helpful. All of our Parisian friends think we have a great "find". We are in the center of everything, which is a gift! Amdist good restaurants, try "Le souri Vert" on St. Anne Street or "Le Grand Colbert" on Rue de Vivienne.
