We rented the upper two levels for a family vacation. There were 4 adults and 8 children -- and we had an incredible time! There was plenty of space and the modern kitchen was well stocked with appliances, pots, pans, dishes, silverware etc. for large groups like ours. The decks are wonderful and have nice outdoor furniture. We loved open windows and listening to the ocean all night. The beach changes daily from rocky to sandy, but so close to the house we had fun to playing in the water and sand. If we were chilly in the evenings, the gas fireplace warmed us quickly. There's a basketball court just a few steps down the beach and we challenged each other to game after game. We visited Disneyland and Seaworld while there. Both were an easy drive. Costco and other stores for supplies are just a mile away. We would love to return to this property again!

This house was just the getaway we needed. Beautiful views, cozy living space with a fireplace for at night, an easy bike ride to the pier and the shops. This was a great spot to go for a vacation, we couldn't have asked for more. It was a great house for the whole family, everyone had their own space. We all had a great time and spent most of our time outside on the deck and down in the sand!!

I loved the simplicity of the house. Everything was nicely decorated and not to over done and rather "homey"! We had a wonderful time and love waking up to the beautiful ocean view and having dinner on the deck and watching the sunset! Can't wait to go again.

We rented the top two floors and the view was breath taking! There was 9 people in our party and not once did we feel cramped or in one anothers way. The kitchen and livingroom is very large with a large tv and a fire place that starts with a flick of a switch. You step out the door and you step right onto the beach. Plenty of room to build a sand castle, play frisbee or just hangout. The property was very clean and well maintained. There's a bike trail and the marina close by. We ate at a family owned restuarant not far from the beach house called Lucy's where we had excellent service and good food.

Jussst Kidding!!! I loved the house... The view was amazing and having the ocean as a front yard was awesome. The rooms were really nice, they all had a different style so everyone was able to pick a room that best suited them. The kitchen and living room were updated, comfortable, and cozy. Both kitchen and media appliances were up to date. Almost every bedroom had a flat screen tv in it with cable which was a good and unexpected feature! The third level room was heaven.. the room was Huge and had Amazing views because the entire room had floor to ceiling windows that wrapped around the entire room. The house, the view, and having the ocean 20 ft away was more than I could have ever imagined and I would 100% recommend this rental house to others. I hope that I can go back soon!!

Spending 4 days at this beautiful, serene beach house was like a dream! My family & I (9 people)occupied the upstairs,5 bedrooms with plenty of space for everyone. The bedrooms were very clean & nicely decorated.Sleeping with the sound of waves hitting the shore was most peaceful. Our favorite place was just hanging out on the deck, watching the waves, sailboats, birds and most amazing sunsets! We also took advantage of the newly remodeled kitchen, cooking for our crew & BBQ'ing on the deck!My kids spent a few days in Disneyland, only a 30 min drive.Riding our bikes a short distance to the Marina to check out all the cute shops & amazing boats was a fun outing! I have to say this was a great trip, loved the beach house and can't wait to go back! I highly recommend it!

I took my girl friend and her family to the Dana Point house one week ago. The kids went to Disneyland which is only 30 minutes away and had a great time. While they were at Disneyland we just enjoyed the beautiful view from the deck, went on a bike ride, walked the beach and went to the harbour . We found the home to be very clean and updated it was a wonderfull experience!

My wife and I spent a wonderful weekend at the condo. It is spacious, open and inviting. The view from the deck is postcard picturesque. The sound of the waves hitting the beach will wash away any stress in your body. The kitchen in the unit is outstanding. what a beautiful location.

We had a fabulous stay in this wonderfully comfortable and spacious home. Access was great and the views amazing. Pelicans and dolphins also love this area and were exciting to watch. We hope to stay again come summer. Thanks Lee PS The ice maker wasn't working but not a huge issue

Born and raised in Dana Point one block from the beach, but I never had the opportunity to stay on the beach! This is arguably one of the best VRBO's in the area if you have family from out of town that wish to experience the beach life. Perfect location, beautiful beach, and tons of fun...

Seasoned travelers, with previous excellent VRBO experience, but not this time. Location, views, and rooms as described, but the condition is not. Upon arrival the upper unit was not clean, linens were minimal, and mice were visible every day. Owners respond quickly to receive full payment (more than listed + cleaning fee) but silent, unresponsive, and unconcerned with renter's satisfaction. I would not recommend this property in the current condition to anyone.
Owner response:An unfortunate storm brought mice inside, a rare occurrence. Nevertheless, we do indicate in the agreement this may happen (paragraph XI). The unit was clean, as I had just left the unit three days before. At first, these prospective tenants seemed to be reasonable, but when I told them they could not hold their wedding rehearsal dinner at the home, and that I did not provide cribs, things changed. I normally rent by the week, but if the time is shorter, it is $500 per night for the sand level unit, and $600 per night for the upper unit. The final straw was an attempt at extortion that if I did not refund $1500, they were going to post a bad review. I am sorry that I am not going to be a party to their attempted shakedown.

Amazing home! We absolutely LOVED our stay. We rented the upper unit for an entire week with our kids and extended family (parents, sister-in-law, and cousins), and it easily slept 10 in beds. Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm were just an easy 30-40 minute drive. Sea World an easy hour, and Lego Land about 30 min from this centrally located home. However, we really never wanted to leave the beach to do any of those day trips. We could have spent the entire 7 days sitting on the patio watching the ocean and enjoying the private beach with our family. We are seasoned VRBO vacationers and this is hands down the best place we have ever rented!! We have mixed emotions about posting such a positive review--not sure we want the whole world finding out about our "little slice of heaven" in S. Cal! We will most certainly be back to this home in the future! Thanks, Lee, for your hospitality! It was a pleasure to meet you during our stay and look forward to vacationing here again! Hi Lee. After 30 hours of beach life, a 5 mile run on the beach and 1 Margarita I am sold on living here ......forever....Carnival Cruise Lines have offered me a job and that doesn't interest me nearly as much as this Pacific Coast experience! Thanks and is next Jan & Feb available ?.......tom
Owner response:Tom, You are most welcome! Beach Road is really an undiscovered American enclave. We are so glad you are enjoying yoursselves. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make your stay more enjoyable. Lee

This house is awesome! It's right on the beach, close to shopping, local restaurants, and the harbor. It's a perfect location for walking on the beach and is in close proximity to other great beaches. We made day-trips from this house to local theme parks with our kids. The kids also enjoyed playing on the beach. The house is well equipped, well maintained, very clean, and newly updated. The location is very private and secure with a 24/7 security guard on-site. We will definitely be back to this house. I would highly recommend this place to our family and friends
