This home overlooks the gorgeous Roaring Fork River which provides for great private fly-fishing and a wonderful grassy lawn perfect for campfires, picnicking and just relaxing.
Woody Creek is a great community a mere ten minutes from Snowmass Mountain and fifteen minutes from downtown Aspen via a tranquil drive on McClain Flats. The house is a short 5-minute walk to the landmark Woody Creek Tavern with its delicious food and fun atmosphere where folks like author Hunter S. Thompson were regulars.
After a day of skiing one of our area’s four mountains, fly-fishing on our exclusive private stretch of river, riding horses, rafting or biking the adjacent Rio Grande trail to Aspen, you can relax in the large hot tub on our deck while watching the river roll by.
The house sleeps 8-12 people and is fully stocked with amenities such as cable TV, DVD, stereo, full kitchen with washer and dryer and an outdoor dining room table plus waterfront picnic table and fire pit. Plus it comes with lots of great benefits such as bikes for guests use.
Why pay high Aspen prices or stay way down valley to fish or ski? Woody Creek offers the perfect blend of great value and natural beauty in close proximity to Aspen and Snowmass.

My family and I just returned from staying at this house outside of Aspen. The house is right on the river and the yard area by the river is absolutely beautiful, as shown in the pictures. I spent several hours fly fishing on the river without much success but I did talk to a guide that was on the river outside the house and he said it was a good fishing area. The house is about 15 min from Aspen and 8 min from Snowmass Village. The surrounding area and houses are all very nice and there is a great "local" restaurant/bar (woody creek tavern)within walking distance down the road. The house is an 7.5 on a scale of 1-10. Very livable but in need of some TLC, furniture, and paint. There is a ping pong table in the garage which provided hours of fun. On our last night, we made a fire in the fire pit and made s'mores. It was a great time with the kids but apparently a BEAR could not resist the smell of cooking marshmallows . Luckily, after the fire and s'mores we were all in the house and heard some noises outside. Looking out of a window upstairs we watch a good sized bear destroy the "bear safe" trash can. I don't think the bear usually could have gotten the lid off but 1 of the 2 latches did not work.... Yes, you need a new "bear safe" trash can because he tore the lid up. If you stay here, keep the trash cans in the garage. All-in-all, I would recommend staying here. We had a great family vacation and as long as you are not expecting the 5 start, you should be happy. If it is during the summer months, the Snowmass Rodeo on Wednesday nights is something not to miss!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers.

A great vacation Cabin. the fishing is fantastic, just outside the cabin. We went in the summer, the mountains, hiking and rafting was unbelievable. Can't wait to go back in the winter to ski. The cabin is all you want it to beDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
