Tres Casitas is ideally situated a five-minute stroll from the central Jardin, on one of San Miguel's old narrow cobblestone streets.
Tres Casitas perhaps needs its own heading as it is not a hotel, although it has 4 accommodations to spend the nights... and days: not a B&B, as there are small fully-equipped kitchens in each cozy casita, open-air cafes and restaurants nearby. Nor is it a house, but three small houses (hence, its name, Tres Casitas), a separate art studio apartment, and a VERY small bed(double) and bath for extra sleeping in conjunction with the casitas.
Words that describe Tres Casitas are: compact, cozy, sculptural, light, airy, and angular: green with plant growth, Moroccan-desert reds, cobalt blues, mellow yellows, and rich ripe rusts. After all, we are in Old Mexico.
Each accommodation features original paintings, sculptural ceramics, and a fine collection of Mexican, Native American, African, and Central to South American crafts and textiles collected by Tres Casitas' artist/owner. |
