Tres Casitas vacation home rental in San Miguel is three 1br. casitas with fully equipped kitchens, private bath, terrace or roof garden; plus a studio accommodation. The property can be rented as a house(as offered here on VRBO) or one or two casitas can be rented separately.
Sleeping arrangements are most suitable for couples(queen, king beds in bedrooms) and Tres Casitas caters primarily to mature adults. We offer tranquility, privacy, roof garden vistas for sunset gatherings, in a quiet centro neighborhood and are perfectly located 1 level walking block from historic colonial San Miguel's famous La Parroquia cathedral and El Jardin. Nearby are open air cafes, restaurants, markets, shopping tiendas theatre, culture.
Tres Casitas will sleep 8 persons comfortably (4 couples)or 10 persons maximum: 2 persons in Casita 3 (king bed), 3 persons maximum in Casita 1(queen in br. and single in living) and Casita 2 sleeps 3 persons (queen loft plus daybed for 1) , and 2 in the Studio (queen bed). 3 casitas have a fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, flatscreen cable TV/DVD, light housekeeping M-W-F mornings, roofgarden wondrous vistas, 2 WiFi connections, private bath/shower, house phone extension, private patio, space heater, and fan. The Studio has the above ammenities minus the fireplace and kitchen. Our compound is not suitable for children under 7. There are unprotected stairs and balconies.
Tres Casitas, eclectically Mexico, was designed, landscaped, built and furnished by artist and owner/hostess, Nanci Closson in 1994, from 200 year old ruins.

My husband and I spent 10 days with Nanci in one of her apartments- and it was delightful. The location was superb for walking, shopping and spending time where lots of activity were happening. SanMiguel produces an english newspaper listing all the weeks activities- so filling our days was very easy-but having such a lovely apartment where we could rest, read and sit on the terrace and just relax was extra wonderful. We have always stayed in hotels or B&B-but no more. Renting an apartment has changed the way we will travel forever more- and this apartment was especially nice. Thankyou Nanci and VRBO for making our holiday such a memorable event. K&KRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was just a perfect place to stay! The location can't be beat -- and our apartment was so lovely we didn't want to leave! The owner is a wonderful host, helpful but not intrusive! Everything -- from the rooftop sitting area to our courtyard to our casita -- was clean, beautiful and inviting. We couldn't have been more charmed! We would recommend Tres Casitas very enthusiastically!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We have stayed at Tres Casitas on each visit to San Miguel de Allende and found it to be fabulous. The location is perfect - close to shopping, restaurants, nightlife and a beautiful garden. The casitas are each unique, comfortable, private, and beautifully decorated with original art. In particular we have enjoyed the rooftops for their beautiful panoramic view of the city and for sunbathing. Also the courtyard is tranquil and sets the mood for a peaceful vacation. The property is well-maintained, clean, and contains all the necessities for a relaxing time. We will definitely return.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

In January 2012 was our first trip to San Miguel but not likely the last. The only drawback is getting there and back from Quebec Canada. We knew from our readings that it would likely be so. It was nonetheless worth the trip and plus. VRBO website is very good overall and was instrumental to us in finding excellent accommodation at the TRES CASITAS. All the information including the photos were accurate and up to date. Communications between the owner and us were prompt and complete as well. The TRES CASITAS website was also useful. Cost and payment arrangements were easily obtained and straight forward. We truly enjoyed casita #1, its commodities (including wireless internet), its decor and comfort. All the common areas are comfortable nooks where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings. Everything has been thought of for a perfect stay. Even NOCHE the resident cat was friendly and cuddly. Of all our trips, we found SMA to be “the” special gem that will remain with us forever. It is special for its history, its natural beauty and especially its natural balance between locals and expatriates which are both contributing at keeping it that way. Lastly, our trip was a complete success mostly because of the help provided by Nanci (the owner), who from across the country was able to rearrange our ground transportation because of our 4 hour flight delay and have Claudia the housekeeper wait for us. Claudia was an angel to us =)Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

tres casitas is a wonderful location...so very close to the Jardin where all of the city activities take place. The view from the treehouse is amazing. hope to stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We stayed at Tres Casitas a few years ago. It was just a perfect place to stay. Everything was clean and well-maintained. This location is closer to the center of San Miguel than places higher up, , and it is an easy walk to the shops and restaurants. The patios make it a very relaxing place to stay. Nancy's decorations are so "Mexico". The photos do not reflect how pretty the lights and shadows coming though the patios really are.. I sure do miss the bells of San Miguel.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We totally enjoyed our visit to Tres Casitas in SMA. The accommodations were very comfortable, very clean and beautifully decorated with an amazing collection of art and collectibles. The location is excellent and is close to the Jardin and very good restaurants and shops. We looked at many of the other B&B's and were glad we chose Tres Casitas. We hope to return for a longer visit next time.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have traveled to 3 o4 locations in Mexico every year over the last 10 years and this was the best. Trescasitas was clean , pleasant. great location, comfortable king bed. It was as represented in fotos. and map.We enjoyed the large living roomand kitchen Nanci was very helpful and easy to contact. Also the manager was always responsive to any questions or needs. We were there Feb 5-19 2011 We are going back to Trescasitas in 2012.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My visit to Tres Casitas was very enjoyable. I loved all the autentic mexican decor and the open air feeling. I loved being in the center of things. We could walk to the jardin and take in all the sights. There were many good resturants within walking distance. The view from the roof was spectacular. I would recommend Tres Casitas to anyone.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: I'm an artist who moved to San Miguel in 1992 from Tucson, Arizona. In 1994, with the help of local architect Luis Nunez, we designed and built Tres Casitas saving partial 200-300 year old ruins. After 20 years, it's still home for me when in San Miguel and guest house for vacationers year round. I have built homes in Sayulita, Nayarit on the Pacific coast of Mexico from 2004-2011. 2013 finds me hostessing Tres Casitas, making sculptural ceramics at a clay studio here in San Miguel and traveling often and far.
Why the Owner Chose Centro Historico:
In 1993, San Miguel was poised to become the unique and worldly historical marker for artists, travelers and vacationers that it is today. Then, as now, it drew an international clientele interested in the arts; music, writing, painting, sculpture. Tres Casitas at completion, an all-inclusive home away from home with all ammenities, was then one of a handful of alternative lodgings to hotels right in the heart of San Miguel.

I notice primarily: walking everywhere; no need for the car. I love the convenience of being in the heart of town for every need; a restaurants, coffee shops, shopping,(the best of ALL Mexico has to offer), the Jardin and La Parroquia, Biblioteca, Belles Artes, Art Institute,language classes, Aurora Fabrica, mercados, Artesans arts and crafts, the cambios,and so on; are ALL a few minutes walk from Tres Casitas.
