Cozy Cabin at a Great Price

Very Cozy Cabin with a lot of charm. Wrap-around porch surrounds the cabin with plenty of rocking chairs to enjoy the beautiful view and the rushing creek below. This cozy cabin will be your home away from home. It has been recently remodeled with a bear motif and also has hardwood floors, and pine board walls. A spiral staircase takes you to the loft bedroom where you can use the large window above the bed as your headboard and feel as though you are sleeping in the great outdoors.
The cabin sits half way up the mountain at approximately 3100 ft elevation. Perfect for enjoying the cool summer nights and the beautiful fall foliage. It is secluded, however, there are neighbors close enough for comfort and you are only 4 miles from Sylva North Carolina where you have all the latest restaurants as well as Super Walmart for your groceries and necessities.
There is plenty to do such as Harrahs Casino (10 minutes away) and a scenic train ride in Bryson City (10 minutes away). We are also only minutes from white water rafting, dirt-bike riding, ATV trails, tubing, shopping and lots more. If you would rather just take it easy, there is plenty of reading materials as well as a game table with ample games to keep you busy and sharing quality time with your loved ones.

My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks in the little cabin on the hill, it was so relaxing and peaceful we did not want to leave. The cabin was very well furnished, it had everything we could have needed. The new grill on the front porch was great for cooking out every night and enjoying the out doors. Thank you for sharing your great cabinRecommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

We absolutely loved the cabin. It was decorated very tastefully. We could have stayed forever on the front porch on the rockers listening to the creek below. Will definitely come back lots and tell others. Thank you Stepheney for the privilege of staying in your cabin.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

The cabin was very clean and cozy. Not private at all there was 2 other cabins around us in seeing distant. The trees have grown up so bad the mosquitos took us down the creek. It was off the beaten path from other things in towns, the charcoal grill was brooke and rusted. The cabin was very hot at night not cool at all. We had fun with the kids but if you go make sure you take bug spray you will need it.Overall I have stayed at better places.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

The cabin was nice on the inside with everything you need for your stay. Stepheney was great to work with in making my reservation. However, I feel a little misled by the owner's description of: "The cabin sits high on a mountain at approximately 3100 ft elevation. Perfect for enjoying the cool summer nights and the beautiful fall foliage. It is secluded, however, there are neighbors close enough for comfort". Actually the cabin sits directly behind a cabin that looks like a red barn and two other cabins. If the elevation was 3,100 ft, you would never know because you are not high on a mountain. Out the back you see the side of a mountain, and in the front you see the red barn. Privacy was not an issue because I went in the off season, but it would be if there were people staying in the barn or the other two cabins. Parking would be an issue as well. The other problem I had was the narrow width of the spiral staircase going up to the sleeping loft. It is very steep and I was unable to get my suitcase up the steps, which left even less room downstairs. At $69/night, I felt I got my money's worth. It was just not what I was expecting after reading the owners descripton.Recommended for: Tourists without a car.

This tiny cabin was the answer to a fast paced life. It has just enough space to kick back and relax, or a place to hang your hat at night after a busy day of sightseeing. It has all the amenities necessary. Waking up and hearing the creek rush by was an added bonus each morning. It's location makes getting supplies easy, as well as great day trips to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Asheville, as well as all the small NC towns that offer great shopping and fun. The location is quiet, and easy to find. I would recommend this cabin to any couple looking for a great getaway.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My wife and I came here to get away and boy did we. This place was really secluded, but neighbors were close enough just in case something happened. The cabin was very cozy and nice. Stepheney is great for letting this go so cheap. Will stay againRecommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: We are the Rigney's (Jim and Stepheney) We live on the West Coast of Florida, we purchased the cabins to be able to escape the brutal summers of SW fl, however, with the economy the way it is we have had to put our plans on hold. That is why we decided to rent the cabins and to do it at affordable rates so that others can have a chance to get away and relax.
Why the Owner Chose Whittier:
We absolutely love the NC Mountains, when you are there time stands still, life slows down and you can breathe deep and relax.
