  My husband and I just returned from a 2 week holiday in Antigua. We stayed at the Rumrunner villa and had one of the best vacations in the Caribbean. We usually do the all inclusive thing for one week, as both of us feel that 1 week of eating and drinking and doing nothing is enough. Since we decided to go away after Thanksgiving (that time of the year when Americans start to eat decadently), we opted for something self-catering. We're so glad we picked Rumrunner and that we stayed for 2 weeks. The place was very clean, comfortable,great location, and all fixtures done in good taste. I could not have asked for a better place.The beaches were awesome. A couple of friends joined us on the 2nd week and both were very impressed. We had drinks by the deck, watched the fish jump, and marvel at just how beautiful each day was. The new restaurant Al Porto served very good Italian fare, Alex the English bartender certainly took care of us when we went there. . Our Canadian neighbors Tim & Hannah were extremely nice & helpful, just true salt of the earth! Couldn't wait to go back next year!

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  Joanne, We had a great time. The weather was great while it was snowing back in Va. I got brown as a berry. Your condo was perfect. We ate out all meals. We really loved Al Porto and ate there a lot as well as a couple others. Alternated between Castway Beach and the Crows Nest . Thanks for sharing your home. I left it in good shape with all towels and rugs washed and dried. Have a great season!

  Fantastic villa in a great location" We just spent a fantastic week at Villa Rumrunner! Jolly Harbour is a great location with nice beaches, restaurants, bars and a large grocery store. The villa itself is very comfortable, A/C in every room, internet access, a nicely equipped kitchen and a large deck overlooking the water (and the owners' beautiful sailboat!). The two upstairs bedrooms are quite large and both have en suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a balcony which overlooks the water. The downstairs bedroom is a bit small, but has a bunkbed so is perfect for kids - or adults who aren't too picky. While you could easily spend a week just in Jolly Harbour, we rented a car and visited other beaches and sites on the island. Antigua isn't very big but there is lots to see and most of the beaches are nearly deserted. As for the booking, Joanne and Ian always responded quickly to emails and answered all of our questions. Shuna (who manages the villa on-site) was also very helpful and was available to respond to any questions or concerns we might have (although we didn't have any problems during our stay). All in all we had a wonderful week in antigua and we will definitely be returning, hopefully in the near future. If you're considering a visit to antigua, I highly recommend Villa Rumrunner!

  Jolly Harbour is a fabulous place...everything you need is right there and not once did it feel unsafe in any way. All the people were wonderful, locals and tourists alike. And the beach! Wow... We found the villa to have everything we needed - very well equipped and great TV watching for the lulls in our days/nights! The villa is in a really great spot because it's kind of out of the way so you don't get as much traffic going by. The villa management folks were very pleasant and even called to check in mid-week. Wayne with Jolly Rentals was awesome about the golf cart arrangements and our taxi driver J.R. from Nice 'n Easy Taxi was amazing. Everything really went off without a hitch. We're so appreciative that we had the opportunity to stay in this lovely home away from home.

  My family and I had an amazing time here in Jolly Harbour ! This villa made us feel at home and had just what we needed inside. The week we were here seemed to fly by so you must enjoy every minute of every day and dont be afraid to leave Jolly Harbour and see the rest of the island it is truly beautiful. Everyone on the island is extremely nice . We leave one week later without a family member who will stay here and attend AUA to pursue her dreams of becoming a Doctor.

  Thank you for your hospitality!!! Your villa was just the right size for our group of 6. My kids loved the bunk beds and my parents (83 & 80) were happy with the location, on the marina. We couldn't believe how quiet and tranquil it was, that definitely helped us relax and get us in the 'island mood'

  Joanne - Yes, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Antigua. Rumrunner was perfect for our troop of snorkelers. I'd recommend the place to anyone.
