Between Lacoste and Ménerbes, authentic Lubéron villages, a private forest road leads to the “Jas de St Hilaire”, a charming, 160 m2 (525 sq ft) stone house with a secured, 9 x 4.5 m (29 x 14 ft) swimming pool surrounded by a vast, shadowed lounging beach.
The villa sits on a 3500 m2 (11,480 sq ft), completely enclosed, quiet and private wooded property, accessed through a remote-controlled gate.
The house can comfortably accommodate up to 6 / 7 persons. It includes a fully-equipped kitchen that opens on a 32 m2 (105 sq ft) living/dining room with an open fireplace and direct access to a lovely terrace. For your entertainment, you will have at your disposal a large screen TV receiver with satellite broadcast programs and a DVD player.
The utility room contains a freezer and a clothes washer.
There are two large bedrooms that open directly on the shady terrace and the swimming pool. Both are furnished with a 160 cm (63’’) double bed.
A third, 14 m2 (46 sq ft) bedroom is furnished with two 90 cm (35’’) single beds. In addition, an indoor “mezzanine” deck could accommodate sleeping for one more person.
The two bathrooms are equipped with shower, twin wash basins, bath tub and toilet.
Other facilities include, high-speed Internet access, mobile air conditioner, bottle-gas barbecue grill, ping-pong table, all-terrain bicycles.
Available nearby: hiking, visits to the Abbey of St Hilaire and the village of Lacoste. Easy access from the property to the “Regional Nature Park of the Lubéron.

We loved our stay at Le Jas de Saint-Hilaire. The house is lovely (prettier than the pictures) - beautiful décor, gorgeous bathrooms, two of the rooms have doors that open onto the garden- what a treat. Evening dinners on the patio near the pool were wonderful. It had everything we needed. Our hostess, Patricia, was so helpful and welcoming. We loved staying in the Luberon area and Le Jas was just perfect.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Le Jas de St Hilaire is a superb base for exploring this wonderful area of France. It is within a short drive of so many delightful Luberon villages (Menerbes, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Roussillon, Gordes, Lourmarin to name just a few). Larger towns and cities like Avignon, Arles, Aix en Provence, St Remy de Provence, L'Isle sur la Sorgue are also within easy day trip reach. A car is vital for a stay here. The house itself is situated part way up a rough track which it shares with a number of other attractive properties, although you are certainly not aware of them such is the high degree of rural tranquillity and privacy that you enjoy at Le Jas. The grounds are extensive, immaculately tended and so Provencal. The pool area contributes greatly to a general feeling of calm sophistication and is just one of a number of outside areas where you can sit, eat, drink. Most are covered so as to offer protection from the hot Provencal sun. Even the car parking area round the back of the house, is covered. There is a very strong sense of genuine Provencal living both outside and inside the property. Within the house the furnishings, decor, fitments and equipment are all of a very high standard and you have everything you need in terms of comfort and a homely feel. The house is extremely spacious, all the rooms being of a very generous size, including three large double bedrooms, two of which open out onto a patio area. The owner certainly respected our privacy, and the only time we saw her during our stay (apart from at the beginning and end) was when she immediately responded to our request for some assistance. Prior to the holiday, I had naturally studied the online photographs and video of the property, all of which looked most impressive. Nous garderons un souvenir impérissable de nos deux semaines passées au Jas de St-Hilaire au mois de septembre 2011, de l’accueil amical et attentionné de son hôtesse, de la beauté des lieux, du charme et du confort de la villa bien équipée sous tous rapports. Nous nous souviendrons en particulier de nos repas festifs sur la terrasse d’un jardin foisonnant où seuls nos bavardages osaient tromper le silence, avec le chant des cigales et celui des oiseaux... Le Jas de St-Hilaire s’est avéré, par ailleurs, bien situé pour nous permettre de parcourir la Provence et de profiter de ses fabuleux attraits.
