  The house was more than what I expected for the price. The description was accurate but the pictures on the website did not do the house justice. The property was clean and well-maintained. We arrived on a day when it was snowing and the drive-way was covered with snow but as soon as we pulled up, there was someone there to plow the snow so that we could pull our car in. The owners were very helpful via E-mail and by phone. I did not have any problems getting in contact with the owners. My friends joined me at this property and it's definitely a place where we would come back to stay. The only negative comment I would make about the property was that the weekend stay was too short. We were only able to check in on Friday after 3:00pm and then check out on Sunday was at 11:00am. We also have to wash the sheets before heading out on Sunday so we had to wake up really early to get everything ready to head out on Sunday. If we checked in at 3:00pm on Friday, we should at least be able to check out on Sunday at 3:00pm as well. Checking out later on Sunday would give us time to clean, get all our belongings together and time to eat before getting on the road.

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

  Owner response: We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Customer satisfaction is always our first priority! We do offer a late check out which gives you until 4:00 instead of 11:00 for a small fee. Normally during ski season when we are busy we cannot always offer the late check out since we usually have renters checking in the same day at 3:00 which allows for meticulous cleaning of the house. Cleanliness is very essential in our business. As we explained, we do not charge any cleaning fees, our prices are all inclusive. We also offer linen service.

  Dear John & Rita, Everything about this trip was a complete pleasure. Thank you for the care you took to ensure that we arrived safe. Your communication as property owners was Top Notch! We did a little bit of everything, satisfying every persons whim in our little family of four on this beautiful long weekend. We spent much of our first rainy day indoors, playing in the Game roomand we took a trip into Wilkes Barre. We had fun meeting new Crossfit friends and NEPA crossfit and even more fun at Wegmans! We brought home some delicious steaks and grilled followed by Smores at the Fire Pit. The sun came out the second day and we spent most of it hopping back and forth from the boats to the hot tub. Forgot to mention the delicious pizza we got our first night at Cosenza's but can't fail to mention the marvelous dinner we had at the Bear Creek Inn. We recommend a reservation, as it got us seated upon arrival in a room full of people waiting for a a table. Can't wait to eat my veal leftovers for breakfast soon! They definitely do Italian right there.. Mangia! Despite our full bellies, we could not pass up the appple dumpling ice cream stand on our way home that night (115 & Meadow Run Rd) One happy guy there walked away with 6 in hand! We had the perfect evening with a fire in the fireplace and a family video. We also like reading this Guestbook, seeing how others enjoyed their time here. Hope you enjoy reading about our adventures. We sure enjoyed having them. We also saw some Newts. They were so cute! I (Valory) named them, their names were Bob, Joe, Freddy and Newton. We had so much fun and I can't wait till we come back! Thank you!!

  John & Rita, Thank you for sharing your warm and inviting lake house with us. We had a relaxing weekend here. Although the sunlight was limited, we still relaxed and enjoyed ourselves on our 29th Anniversary weekend. Having the Game room helped! The Hot Tub provided some much needed relief fro our "older" bones and joints. On our way back fro a dinner at Arcaro's & Genell's in Old Forge (I reminisced about being there during my 4 years @ Marywood U in Sranton from 1976-1980), we were welcomed her by 8 deer crossing the road in front of the house! It was a special treat to be able to bring our 12 yr. old dog Maggie! She liked watching the chipmunks outdoors.. You have a beautiful Lakeside Retreat here, Thanks again!

  John & Rita, What a wonderful place to spend our Labor Day weekend, and first family vacation in a long time. We had 2 dogs a 16 month old and a 12 yr. old and the Lake, Boats, Playroom, etc.. kept them entertained the whole weekend. We drove to Milford for a Country Fair, and had 2 dinners @ Cosenza's and lots around the Campfire and the grill. We also took a lot of walks around the neighborhood. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.   John & Rita, We're having a wonderfully relaxing week her! As I write, I can see my husband & oldest son fishing in the lake. I love having time with my teenage sons "gadgets" nature and just each other. Highlights so far... Camelback Mt. Adventures (treetop course was so awesome). Rowing on peaceful lake. Hubby & Hot tub- Perfect match! Riding bikes around the lake our little frog friends-so cute! lookout/observation tower @ Lackawanna State park Poker Smores by the lake Pool Table Golfing at Thornhurst ($10 per person all day-can't beat that) Fishing! We had a terrific vacation, Thanks!

  Dear Rita and John, From the moment we came through the front door I knew this would be a long weekend to remember. The front door was the first sign of a beautiful home to walk into. It looked angelic to know you've put a lot of love into decorating this magnificent home. Attention to detail, goes without saying. Don, Casey and I had a wonderful time and we hope to meet you both sometime in the near future. You sound as fun loving as we are. Thank you for letting us spend time in this beautiful getaway.

  My family and I just had the most wonderful and relaxing week at the Lake House. The House is great. It is spacious, clean, everything you could want. The Lake is absolutely beautiful. It is a very clean, spring fed lake. The water is warm and is great for swimming, fishing, or just going out for a paddle. The canoe and rowboat worked out very well. The hot tub was clean and warm. Loved the hot tub. The town is only about 15 minutes away for supplies. John and Rita are great hosts. They were very nice and very easy to deal with. This place it great for families with young children as the water is shallow by the shoreline. My son is only 2 yrs and he had a blast throwing rocks and playing in the lake. We highly recommend this place. It was very quiet and relaxing. Thank You again Rita and John!

  This was a great vacation and we did not even have great weather. My children had a wonderful time in the boats and swimming in the lake. I can't even tell you how many fish we caught. It was such a relaxing place! All wonderful views and very peaceful. Thanks so much again Rita and John - we had a wonderful time!
