Anna's Veranda on a Dune Preserve, Beautiful Views, Serenity
Year Purchased: 2004
Why the Owner Chose Inlet Beach
We fell in love with the charm of this house the moment we walked in. It needed lots of TLC to restore! It was an amazing adventure to bring this beautiful Grand Lady back to her shining glory. She is truly a gem on the Emerald Coast. There are NO other Victorian homes on the beach in the Panhandle of Florida. We feel so lucky to have picked this spot as the beach still has dunes and is peaceful and quiet. We love weddings and sharing our house with people who love it! We hope you will come and add your love to the house, too.
The Unique Benefits at this House
You will step back in time with the beautiful charm of this Victorian home. You will not sacrifice amenities as everything in the house has been lovingly restored. The wrap around porches, upper and lower, are the place to be at sunrise and sunset. There is always a breeze! The bedrooms are huge! The kitchen is large enough for several cooks to create memorable meals for large groups (3 sinks!). There are two living room areas (parlors) for separate TV viewing. The entire downstairs area is open, light and airy for communal gathering. We are right across a quiet street from a dune preserve; one of the few places left in Florida with dunes. There are lifeguards at our public beach all summer. There are nesting endangered Sea Turtle watching in summer, too. The neighborhood is quiet and safe enough for kids to play outside. Our backyard is big enough for any outdoor gathering.
Beautiful boardwalk over the dunes. You will see birds of all kinds, blue striped skinks, rabbits, and if you are lucky a fox!
This natural barrier of dunes has protected us through many squalls and storms. Help us protect the dune habitat: PLEASE DO NOT WALK ON THE DUNES. Do not pick Sea Oats or other dune plants.
A short beach walk to a beautiful wild dune preserve and bird sanctuary. There is an old broken pier that has weathered many a storm and makes for great photos. There are trails into the maritime fore
Shopping, restaurants, art shows on the lawn in summer. Post office in Town hall.
All your grocery shopping needs less than 3 miles from the house. Winn Dixie (nice flowers), Publix (gluten-free items and some organic produce), liquor store next to each.
26-mile bike trail all along beautiful flat terrain. Dune Lakes and ocean views the whole way!
Good pub food. At least 6 plasma screen TVs with sports. Great for watching the games and cheering for your team. There are 28 beers on tap! Some video games for the kids, too.
Really good pizza and pasta. You could walk there from our house. Very kid friendly. Good wait staff.
Owner's Map of Inlet Beach
Anna is an artist and yoga teacher. She works in encaustics, pastels and oils. Her work is abstract in nature and influenced by the textures and colors at the ocean and seaside. Dan is a pediatrician in an Emergency Room (we hope you never have to see him at work!). We worked together to pick all the colors and furniture in the house. We never knew we would work together so well as on this project! We both grew up and fell in love with Victorian architecture. Dan in New York and Anna in Charleston, SC.

Anna's Veranda was exactly the perfect venue for our oldest daughter's dream of having her wedding at the beach. The house is decorated so beautifully we did not require many decorations to make it a very elegant occasion! The kitchen is wonderfully laid out and equipped. The rooms are large and comfortably accommodate a crowd! The beds are super comfortable and we slept soundly every night! Anna was so easy to work with and helped us with recommendations for vendors and made sure the house was ready and sprinklers turned off on the days needed! We had the wedding on the beach down the street from Anna's Veranda and then we hosted the reception at the house. The backyard was a beautiful retreat and perfect setting for the outdoor reception...we were able to easily accommodate with plenty of room to spare 6 large mahogony farm tables with bistro lighting strung over them. The screened in porch was the perfect place for the groom's ice cream bar and the huge dining room table made the ideal place to serve the heavy hors d'ouerves reception and the island bar was wonderful for our drink station. A gorgeous wooden table was available to display the cupcake tier in the dining room. We could not have been happier with the location...it was conveniently located close to Highway 98 which made it easily accessible for anyone coming or going to/from either Panama City or Destin directions, plenty of parking for guests with the beach just a short walk down the street! It was also close to Highway 30-A making the quaint towns/shops/restaurants of Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Watercolor, and Santa Rosa Beach a snap to reach. Everyone raved about the beauty of the house and beach. We also hosted the rehearsal dinner (shrimp boil) for 35 people the night before the wedding and it easilly accommodated the entire crowd inside because the evening was too cold to be outside. The pictures on this site are great but seeing it in person we were blown away by its beauty. We are so glad we were there for an entire week to have many days to enjoy our time with family and friends and the beautiful surroundings! We highly recommend Anna's Veranda it exceeded our expectations in every way!
Owner response:Wow! That review makes me want to get in a car or a plane and get there very soon! Thank you! We love to have happy guests and hope family vacations are in your near future. Come and see us again!

My husband and I got married on the beach by Anna's Veranda on October 1st. We stayed at Anna's for two nights and could not have been happier with our stay. The owner was so helpful and accommodating while we were preparing everything for the wedding and reception. The house was in great condition, and the grounds looked great for our big night. Honestly, we didn't do alot of decorating for the reception because the house is so beautiful in itself. It didn't need much dressing up at all! We plan on visiting again for many anniversaries to come. Thank you, Anna's Veranda!
Owner response:We are so happy when our guests are happy! We love hosting weddings and have great connections to help you plan the day you have always dreamed of. Anniversaries and family vacations are wonderful here, too! Thank you for the five star rating!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful house! It is so beautiful, but it is comfortable and relaxing. We loved the big rooms, the big kitchen that was well-equipped, the big dining room and table, the 2 living areas, so that the younger set could do their thing, while the others could do theirs. Also loved the big windows and the views from the upper deck and windows. Many of us enjoyed the screened-in porch downstairs. No one wanted to leave! It was very clean, too! The dune blocked the view of the water from downstairs, but it was a short walk down to the water. We love the white sands of the panhandle.
Owner response:We love it when our guests tell us they don't want to leave! We feel very lucky to be located just next to a Dune Preserve. The dunes protect us and provide a home for all kinds of wildlife. We have seen fox, rabbits and blue-striped skinks! There are so many kinds of birds! When you wake up in the morning they sing and sing.

This house is incredible. After looking it over my son said "we will vacation here every year." If you are looking for a real vacation from the world, this is the place to go: beautiful, quiet, restful. The linens that are provided are plush and soft. It is a joy to cook in the kitchen. My family sat around the dining table for hours. I never wanted to leave the rocking chair on the front porch--the sea breeze and scent of jasmine(?). There are too many wonderful things I could say about this house, and not enough space here. I heartily recommend this rental--but be prepared to never want to leave. My husband's comments: It was a great house, excellent location, nice views from upstairs, comfortable and large rooms, separate bathrooms for all, the house had character and all the modern facilities needed, including wireless internet access, plenty of guest parking, great for families. Only con is spotty cell phone service.
Owner response:We love hosting family vacations. When several generations can come together and stay in one big house, it is a joy for us. The house is beautiful in pictures but as our guests will confirm, it is so much better in person! Verizon has the best cell phone coverage and upstairs on the deck with the breeze is the best spot for other carriers.

This house was a wonderful host and backdrop for our wedding and honeymoon. Everything was absolutely perfect! The house is even more beautiful and charming than the pictures portray. The veranda is so relaxing with wonderful views. The home is very comfortable and can accomidate 12 - 14 people easily. The beach is very private and the dune preserve is something you just don't see in the panhandle. Every detail of this house makes you feel at home. We really didn't want to leave. Thank you for sharing your home with us and can't wait to go back and visit!
Owner response:Congratulations to our newlyweds and brides-to-be. We love weddings!

We had a great time during our stay at Anna's Veranda. We had our wedding on the beach across from the home and then held the reception at Anna's Veranda. It was absolutely perfect. This home is more beautiful than what you see in pictures. I would not have changed a thing about our stay or the weddnig. Anyone looking for a great beach venue for a smaller wedding (about 70 people) should seriously consider this location. It was amazing, and we can not wait to go back!!
Owner response:Thank you for choosing Anna's Veranda for your wedding. We look forward to more weddings for many years to come!

This house is breathtaking! The view from the upper porch is the best! Several of us have spent many late nights on that porch talking and taking in the refreshing breeze. This is my family's first vacation to the beach, and this house could not have been more perfect! It is everything we could have hoped for. Thanks!! Heather Hayes, Ranger, GA
