Prior to arriving, I definitely did not imagine the amazing and romantic location I was about to discover. Boy was I surprised. The walk down the steps to the lower villa is not for faint of heart, however once you get there you just feel all the stress melt away. It was extremely clean and comfortable and sooo relaxing, which is exactly what I needed. The water pressure is excellent and HOT and the heater worked perfectly to counter having the windows cracked so we could hear the ocean and get some fresh air. BTW, because the ocean is so close, you may need to close the windows at night to sleep depending on how light or heavy of a sleeper you are. It can get pretty loud at night, during the day it's great though. The beach is nice, but if you looking for a sandy beach, this is not that kind of beach. There are a lot of rocks. You can still walk on it, but not really kid friendly. If you desire a big sandy beach, Rosarito is just 10 minutes away. Speaking of kid friendly, unfortunately I would say this is not. With the steep cliffs and the low railing, it could be dangerous for kids. With that being said though, it is incredibly romantic, especially with a very private gas fire pit and seating area that overlooks the ocean. Perfect for evening margaritas before going out. As far as things to do around there: There is an intimate italian restaurant and bar called "Gusto" that has live music on Fridays and Saturdays. There is a bar called "Plan B" that is more like a typical bar. The people at Plan B are really nice and will let you bring food in from the taco cart a few doors down. In that same shopping center is an OXXO (like a 7-eleven), which has decent prices on alcohol, a bakery that makes pizza and the taco cart. Then of course there are tons of stuff to do in Rosarito... In conclusion, I will definitely stay here again and hopfully for a lot longer than a couple days... Thank you Don!Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

My boyfriend and I were in need of a quiet, relaxing but yet romantic place to stay when we came upon this rental a couple of years ago... We absolutely loved it!!! It was neat and clean and had all the essentials to make it your home away from home... The windows allowed us to enjoy the oceanview throughout our stay and though it is a open concept, it was still very private. The sunsets were incredible and romantic. Enjoying coffee while reading a book and seeing the dolphins early in the morning never got old =).... I am looking forward to staying here once again, and I hope that to be soon!!!! Thanks Don.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

The description is very true to it's word that this is a VERY romantic place where you feel like it's just you, your partner, and the beautiful ocean view and sounds. If you are looking for a place to really get away and not be in a touristy place, this is IT! The villa is very nicely furnished and clean, and if you bring your food to cook, you will be very content to just stay here and enjoy the view and extreme privacy. I don't think I have ever been somewhere like this where I felt like I had so much privacy, a strange but very welcome feeling for a working mother of 3. There is hardly ever people on the beach, although just know that if you are going primarily to be on the beach, it is very narrow because the tide goes almost all the way to the edge. It's still shallow enough to swim and get in, but you don't have room to lay out on the sand and sun bathe. But in my opinion, the place and privacy make up for it if that's what you're looking for. And if you feel like you want to get out a little, then Rosarito is a short 10 minutes away. I would recomend taking a car, but if you don't have a car, you just need to walk to the security gate, about 1 mile away, (you can enjoy the many beautiful homes along the way) and from there they will call a taxi for you that will cost you less than $10 to Rosarito. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to really get away and loves the ocean, it was surreal! Also, we did see the dolphins, so awesome! Also, as you make your way down the steps to the beach, there is a genius landing area with a small bar and stools, where you can sit and overlook the ocean. Also, there is the fire pit you see in the pictures that. These are both just a few more touches to add to the beauty of the place. Thank you Don and Mila, we had an amazing experience!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car.

Dear Don, I have no words to describe the pure beauty of your home. My husband an I have very stressful jobs and this was a much needed escape. We have traveled quite a bit all over the world and we have never experienced anything like your home, the peacefulness of going to sleep to the sound of the water so close you could almost touch it. The sunsets were there most beautiful i have every seen and the mornings with those amazing dolphins, you are truly in paradise. We loved it so much my husband and i want to comeback for our anniversary and we have already begun getting the word out to our friends. You will be hearing from Darryl and Sandra Hall the saw a pics and fell in love. Don, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing your slice of heaven with us we know it will not be our last.
