Our roomy condominium is a relaxing getaway at the north end of Amelia Island. It's a short walk to the quiet beach, and only a bit farther to Main Beach, which has lifeguards, covered gazebos on the boardwalk, and an adjoining park with a children's playground, skate-boarding, basketball, and public restrooms.
The Fernandina Shores community backs up to the Fort Clinch property, so it's just a short bike or car ride to their beaches and fishing pier. Or, you can walk 3 miles north on the beach to the Fort Clinch pier and beach!
Our condo has 3 bedrooms, two full baths, and 2 small balconies. One balcony is directly off the dining area; the other one is a private space outside the master bedroom. Within the complex are tennis courts and a swimming pool for your use. After a morning in the sun, move back to a shady deck and enjoy your peek-a-boo view of the ocean!
Our apartment is fully furnished and equipped. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed; the connecting bath has a walk-in shower. The second bedroom has two twin beds; the third bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and both share the hallway bath (with tub & shower).
For those who like to be connected, even on vacation, a high-speed internet connection is in the master bedroom, and there is free phone service (including U.S. and Canadian long distance) as well. Wireless service is also provided.
The living room has comfortable chairs for watching TV, or cozy places where you can curl up with a book. A large table in the dining area will give you room for long, leisurely meals or puzzle-solving evenings. There are games and books on the shelves, videos, DVDs, CDs and tapes nearby.
Amelia Island's beautiful beaches are perfect for sunning, relaxing, swimming, walking, shelling, and building sand castles. If you wish to be more active, go hiking, biking, fishing, birding, snorkeling/diving, boating, sailing, surfing, windsurfing, para-sailing, jet skiing, or shopping! Golf at one of a number of local courses; tour museums or historic sites, or visit Cumberland Island; try a new restaurant every night; play tennis or miniature golf. Brochures and a book listing these activities are provided.
Take a cruise up and down the Amelia and Nassau Rivers! Watch the sunset from the Fernandina Beach Marina. Go horseback riding on the beach! Go marsh kayaking! There are plenty of museums and cinemas for rainy-day amusement. There are plenty of antiques shops, too! You will find history and nature trails in nearby state parks including Fort Clinch State Park, Amelia Island State Park, and Talbot Island State Park. Or, just go to "downtown" Fernandina Beach, get an ice cream cone, and watch the people!
It is quiet here, and relaxing. But Disney World and Sea World are less than three hours away!

- Ceiling fans throughout. A tennis court is next to the community pool and Club House -- less than a block away.
- Suitability
- Pet Friendly : Owners have asthma and allergies, and some renters do too! Therefore, it is not always possible to make arrangements to allow a pet. If one is allowed, a non-refundable $100 pet fee is required. I am happy to discuss your pet request.
- Kid Friendly : Games, books and puzzles are provided, in addition to cable TV and internet access. The pool and tennis court are close by. Four blocks away, Main Beach provides a playground, a basketball court, and a skateboard park, in addition to rest rooms, shelters, and lifeguards on the beach during the summer.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters : I do not rent to people under 25, and I do not allow student groups, or young people without a responsible adult present. This is a family community. Loud noise at any time is frowned on; no noise after 10 p.m.
- Smoking Not Allowed : This is a No Smoking Apartment, even on the balcony. No Exceptions, Ever!

- A popular skate board park is located nearby, next to the basketball courts at Main Beach. A new water park is being constructed near the park and skate park. Amelia Island is the southernmost barrier island on the US Atlantic coast. This area in Florida's northeast corner has been named one of the top 12 vacation destinations by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Amelia Island is also a great location for birding.

1/4 mile long concrete pier... great for walking and fishing. Swim underneath where it is relatively calm and not too deep
Great food and shopping, with many historic homes and buildings
the Pension Bureau of the Afro-American Life Insurance Company, which was Florida's first insurance company, founded American Beach in 1935. Abraham Lincoln Lewis, president and chairman of the board, visualized a beach where employees of the Afro-American and their families could life and vacation in beachfront properties during a time when all Florida beaches were off limits to African Americans. Hurricane Dora in 1964 marked the beginning of the end of the beach's prime when many homes and businesses were destroyed.

I loved your condo! We found everything we needed. The neighbors were very friendly, the pool and tennis court was nearby, and I felt the children were very safe. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time. Thanks so much for sharing your "home away from home."
