The building faces south and has views out over our farmland, with a river and the Colli Berici hills to the west side, the Villa courtyard garden to the north side and our 15 acres of Vineyards to the east.

Palazzo Rosso, highlight of the Venetian villas

Palazzo Rosso proved an ideal choice for the 10-day tour of Palladian villas we had come for. By the time a week had gone by, we realized there were plenty of other things to do in the area: take the bicycle path to Vicenza or discover the backroads (hardly any traffic if you keep off the main road), hike in the Berici Hills ( we tried one tour guided by an Italian guide book we found in the apartment, half guessing what important trail marks the Italian words meant- but we made it!) Coming back from our tours in the evening, it was nice to take a dip in the pool and relax under the arcades, chatting with other guests staying at Palazzo Rosso. Phil and Silvy were always bustling about somewhere and willing to answer our questions. Thankyou for the fresh eggs ( if you boil them, the yolks separate to form little yellow balls- weird!) We admired the tremendous task Phil and Silvy completed in transforming the palazzo wing into apartments that combine traditional masonry and woodwork with modern furnishing. A truly pleasant place to spend a vacation. Recommendable for all kinds of people looking for a holiday home in the area.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.
Owner response: We are always happy that our guests enjoy there time here on the farm. Cornelia and family brought their own bikes with them (although we have bikes available for our guests to use) and spent most of their time off the beaten track, which is one of the best pastimes. Ciao Phil and Silvy

After a wonderful but somewhat hectic week in Rome, arriving here was like a sigh of relief. The villa has been beautifully restored. Our apartment was absolutely charming, beyond comfortable with all amenities provided. We quickly settled in and it became our home away from home. We enjoyed the country setting immensely. Only a short drive away we found everything and anything needed. Groceries, local wine, gasoline, restaurants and take away establishments. And the A4. A central location to many of the sites we wanted to see in this lovely corner of Italy; Lake Garda (and the Bardolino Wine Festival), the breathtaking Dolomites, charming Venice, Vincenza, and Verona. Palazzo Rosso was a welcome place to return to at the end of our daily explorations and we enjoyed visiting with the other guests, comparing experiences and sharing tips for the days ahead. Phil, Sylvie, the children, even the dogs are charming and enthusiastic hosts. We enjoyed the daily visits and appreciated all the advice. Only one disappointment; that we didn’t build enough time into our stay at Palazzo Rosso to just relax and enjoy all it has to offer. But we will! When we return!Did you find this review helpful? Our stay in The Mulberries in the first week of October 2011 was great. We really enjoyed house: plenty of space, more than fully equipped, excellently clean and maintained - all more than according to the description. The owners, Silvy and Phil, were very friendly and helped wherever they could. The location was also fine: Quiet for a good sleep, but close enough to many attractions - Vicenza, Monti Berici, Colli Euganei, ... Our daughter enjoyed the possibility for horse riding, only few hundred meters away. In the vicinity we found nice facilities for shopping typical Italian food (olive oil, cheese, meat, ...). This house can really be recommended.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

Our apartment was perfect and everything we could think of was present. Especially we appreciated the good quality of the beds, because in a lot of cases the beds are average to terrible, however in our apartment at Palazzo Rosso they were good. The rest was also splendid, airco, the swimming pool and a beautiful covered space under the high roof of the barn. And not to forget the two of you, thanks for the hospitality.Recommended for: Families with young children.

A really beautiful place to stay with great facilities. The pool is a lovely place to relax and cool down when its really hot, the terrace area is fantastic in the evenings for barbeques and sampling the local wine! Phil and Silvy are very relaxed and welcoming hosts. We went as a couple but it would also be a great place for kids. A car is a must as its a little way out of town and the local area is a beautiful place to explore. Thanks for a lovely holiday and introduction to Italy!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

Eind juli / begin augustus hielden wij vakantie in Palazzo Rosso. Dit is wel zeker: we komen volgend jaar terug!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

Please read and confirm your review for Property #68001 Review #4670072 "Agréable surprise" Nous avons passé une super semaine dans ce gîte. Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

Year Purchased: 1991
About the owner: Hi I am Phil. My wife Silvy and I have owned and managed our 400 acre farm since 1992 when I moved to Italy from the UK. We started to rent out one apartment in 2002 and enjoyed having people around so much that we decided to restore a huge old 17th century barn and farm house which we turned into 6 holiday rental apartments.
Why the Owner Chose Vicenza:
We were lucky enough to inherit Palazzo Rosso Farm from my wife Silvy's family.
The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse:
Our guests love to come and stay at Palazzo Rosso because they can enjoy the benefits of being close to many beautiful places such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Mantova and Vicenza and at the same time when they want to relax they can sit back and enjoy the farm location and beautiful surroundings at Palazzo Rosso.
