Why the Owner Chose Narragansett
We love the fact that we are only 3 hours from our winter home in New Jersey and have so many options of things to do. We can walk to the beach, take day trips to Block Island from the ferry (only 3 miles from our house), go to Newport, Watch Hill, visit the Norman Bird Sanctuary, head up to the Roger Williams Zoo, and many other fun things. The kids look forward to going to the Point Judith Lighthouse every morning to skip stones in the pond or watch the surfers. Our visits to Narragansett are definitely the high points of the year, and are looked forward to all winter.
The Unique Benefits at this House
A nice thing about staying in our home is that we are very close to some beautiful beaches and there are many options of things to do, but at the end of the day you can come back to the property and relax in peace and comfort. There's plenty of space for playing and relaxing in the house or elsewhere on the property. We generally set up our kids' toys in the laundry room/mudroom, which is adjacent to the living room. The kids like having their own place to play!
This is where we get onto the beach. You can walk there, drive, bike, etc.
We go here every day to watch surfers or skip rocks in the adjacent pond
Other stores here include Marshalls, a restaurant called Red Stripe, which is very nice, and other assorted establishments.
A very nice Italian restaurant with deck. Can have a great meal and watch the surfers at the Town Beach.
A new addition to the restaurant scene. A trendy place to have a nice meal in an upscale atmosphere.
A very nice Spanish (as the name implies) restaurant. Has an outdoor courtyard with fireplace.
Good fishing and very nice hiking trail with spectacular ocean views
Cumberland Farms, Dunkin Donuts, Ben and Jerry's , Schwabby's Liquors We pick up essentials and get gas here all the time
Everything is here. We go here about 2-3 times a week for a lunch, dinner, go fly kites at Brenton Point, go to parks, shopping, etc.
Great beach for the kids. Has a playground, concessions, showers, etc. Is located within the breakwater so waves are usually very tame.
A very good deli-type restaurant with excellent sandwiches, soups, unique candies, etc. Great for the beach or just for a quick meal. You can eat in the adjacent park next to the Towers and the Town Beach.
Owner's Map of Narragansett
As parents of three young children, we understand what families want in a vacation house. We keep the property in excellent condition, and strive to make the house kid-friendly. We provide baby gates, step stools in the bathrooms, and a fully fenced-in back yard to keep your little ones safe. For your convenience, we also provide beach toys (pails, shovels, etc.) so you don't have to bring these bulky items on your trip. We also provide kid-safe plastic cups and "fish plates" for them to use. Kids always have a fun time, whether at the beach, playing in the backyard, going on a day trip on the ferry to Block Island, skipping rocks at the pond next to the Point Judith Lighthouse, or while doing a multitude of other activities.
But we know the trip is also meant to be a vacation for you. At the end of the day, you can kick back and have a cocktail in the comfortable and spacious living area and watch a movie on the 42" HD television in air conditioned comfort, or relax in the backyard, with all of the conveniences of home at hand.
We spend about a month in the house ourselves every summer so you can rest assured that we keep EVERYTHING in top condition.
We hope you spend your holiday in our home and enjoy it as much as we do.
All the best,
Derek and Victoria Schnure

Ideal house for our family!

We loved this property for our vacation rental. Plenty of bedrooms and living space for my wife and I, 3 kids, and the grandaparents and aunt as well! The house is in pristine condition, and the "mudroom" entryway (with laundry) and garage were the ideal spots to store our beach items, shoes, etc. so they didn't clutter up the house. We also really appreciated the AC throughout the house (it was very hot the week we were in RI), as well as the outdoor shower and spacious backyard. Though initially the walk to the beach seemed further than we pictured, we had no issue with our 8, 5, and 1 yr. olds walking/riding down to the beach every day. We highly recommend this house!
Owner response:We appreciate the wonderful comments about our home. We do try to keep the house in excellent condition, as we too still rent properties when travelling , and we know the sense of trepidation one feels when trying out new accommodations. Yes, the 3/4 mile to the beach can sometimes be challenging while lugging beach stuff, but we do provide a wagon. Driving and parking is always an option, but of course it isn't free. Best, Derek & Victoria Schnure
