Welcome to "Scarborough Affair." A truly amazing resort style property that is simply On of a Kind! This is the ultimate family beach retreat. Absolutely gorgeous, eight bedroom, five bath beach home with private in-ground pool (heat optional) and lush gardens.
This home is perfect for family reunions and business retreats. "Scarborough Affair" house is situated on a double lot and is the ultimate in total privacy. The rear yard is adorned with lush landscaping, hardscape, low voltage night lighting, and pergolas abloom with Wisteria and grape vines plus a delightful 30x15 in-ground swimming pool.
The interior entertaining spaces are open, light and airy and filled with a mix of antique, designer and casual beach furnishings. The open floor plan is perfect for family gatherings. The first floor living space has beautiful Mahogany floors throughout, a gas fireplace, and walls of floor-to-ceiling French doors overlooking the multi-level deck and rear gardens with in-ground swimming pool.
The kitchen is fully-equipped for entertaining with stainless steel appliances including a gas range w/electric convection oven. There are multiple dining areas and you can easily accomodate 14 at the main table - 20 using the granite kitchen bar area. The porch dining seats 4 to 8, and the rear deck dining, overlooking the yard and pool, seats 12-14 so you can dine under the stars when you like. The 15x22 foot screened porch just off the living area boasts the original brick floor and vaulted cedar ceiling with fan, two comfy sofas, TV, and dining area - great for relaxing after a day at the beach. You can also enjoy our private, open-air outdoor shower with hot and cold running water.
The lower level has an additional family room w/TV, 2 bedrooms (one queen and one w/2 twins), small dining area, kitchen with microwave (no stove) and full bath.
There are two king bedrooms on the main floor level and one full bath. The second level has 4 additional bedrooms including the spacious master bedroom suite with a sleigh King bed and en-suite double bath with vaulted ceilings, Jacuzzi tub with wonderful views of the rear yard. Other bedrooms include 1 queen, 1 w/queen and twin which connect to the 4th bedroom with full and twin. There are 2 additional baths on this level..
In season available for weekly rentals only.
October through May 10 rentals also available upon request mini weeks, weekends. Two night minimum from October to May 10. Great for corporate retreats, weddings, holidays, or special events (event fee applies). Chef, catering, and valet services available by request at additional fee. Drive or Bike to beach (about six to seven blocks). Heated Pool option available for additional $300 to $400 per week depending on month and temperatures. Tenant provides linens, towels, soap and paper products.

We rented the house in May, 2011, for a family reunion. Four generations and 12 individuals had a wonderful time. The pool is terrific and the surrounding landscaping just lovely. The downstairs bedrooms helped with family who can no longer navigate stairs. The screened porch provided a get-away from the crowd. We hooked up our laptop to the TV and viewed family photos, listening to oldies music and reminiscing. We hope very much to gather again at this house and recommend it heartily to others.
Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
