Most people picture in their minds their “Dream” Vacation condo. It would be right on a sandy beach with spectacular views and magnificent sunrises and sunsets. They could swim right in front, or take a walk on miles of pristine, un-crowded beach.
My 1,050 sq. ft. Direct Beachfront, Ground Floor, Corner Condo could be what you're dreaming of. With so many to choose from, this is my chance to tell you what I think sets mine apart from the others.
To view my NEW 360-DEGREE "High Definition" VIRTUAL TOUR, please go to the link just below the RED Availability Calendar, NEXT the THIRD photo. Not many condos are this close to a sandy beach, where you can swim or snorkel, right in front. And you can watch the Whales from the the lanai. When you walk in and see the view of the ocean from the living room, you will be delighted. When you go outside, the spectacular 180-degree views of Maui's entire south coast will take your breath away. Every morning, you can watch the sun come up over Haleakala. It is truly, an indescribable experience.
Our complex, is one of three in Maalaea that are right on the beach. The other seven are on rocky reefs with no swimming. Many have distant parking lots, and half have coin $$ operated laundry rooms. Two are next to the busy Maalaea Harbor, with its traffic, boat engine noise and fumes. The Kanai A Nalu has been rated the best vacation property in Maalaea. Just past our building the street "Dead ends", so there is very little traffic. Free parking is provided just steps from the condo. Being on the ground floor, there are no stairs or elevators to deal with. We have our own in-unit washer/dryer. Our pool is one of the few heated in winter. A little ways past our complex the beach runs parallel to a Government Protected Wildlife Refuge. Endangered sea turtles lay their eggs here, so no development is allowed along this beach. It runs for miles, all the way to Kihei. On a morning walk, you may not run into another person. It is the most un-crowded beach on Maui. It's like your own private paradise.
We bought our condo in late 2005. We remodeled and upgraded it, adding air conditioning, plush carpeting, designer bedding, towels, wall mirrors, lovely decor pieces, decorator ceiling fans, TVs, Stereo DVD player, high quality nickel plated hardware and faucets, gorgous lamps, soft rugs, dishes, patio furniture, beach chairs, beach towels, children’s games, movies, new upholstery, wood window blinds and we repainted.
Later we bought a $2,600.00 "Sleep Numbers" King size bed. Each side can be adjusted to your desired firmness or softness. We bought a new Mattress for the Queen Sofa Bed, new sheets, pillows, towels, rugs, children's games, sand toys, more movies, boogie boards and beach gear. We also installed a wall-mounted hair dryer in each bathroom. I replaced worn and missing items, added High Speed (Wireless & DSL)Internet, a new remote controlled air conditioner, a crib and I repainted again.
In late 2007, we updated the condo again. In the kitchen we added beautiful new countertops, a new electric stove top, new toaster oven, new dish towels and accessories and a custom, bamboo bar front. In the bathrooms we added new ceiling fans, new rugs, towels, designer molding around the mirrors and new accessories. In the bedrooms we added new ceiling fans (the condo has six), a luxurious king comforter and 300 ct. sheets and a safe for valuables. We again bought new pillows and sheets. In the living room we added beautiful new plants and designer wall pieces and for the queen sleeper sofa, new sheets and a comforter. For the family we bought new games, more sand toys, more DVD’s and VHS movies, new boogie boards, more new beach towels, mats and beach chairs, and we repainted paint. In 2008 I bought new pillow-top mattresses for the twin beds, replaced damaged and worn items, bought a new coffee maker, and repainted again. Many guests use our condo, so I go often to keep it looking beautiful. A Corner unit is nothing like the "interior" units that share two common walls. They have only one window in their master, and their second bedroom window opens to a busy walkway or parking lot, allowing strangers to look in. Our Corner Condo has NO NEIGHBORS ON ONE SIDE. It is quieter, more private and has incredible views of the beach from the front corner, master bedroom's wall-to-wall windows. Our second bedroom has views of the ocean, the tropical grounds and the pool.
Many condos have an upstairs "loft" bedroom or a master that is completely open to the living room and only closes with a flimsy folding wall. These offer almost no privacy or insulation from the noise of other guests. Our bedrooms are “traditional” rooms with solid walls and locking doors. In the master is "Sleep Numbers" King bed. Each side can be individually set to the desired firmness or softness of each guest. Two twin beds (with new pillow top mattresses) in the second bedroom can be pushed together to create another king size bed. Both bedrooms have new ceiling fans and Cable TV.
Also redecorated, the master bath has an over sized (wheelchair accessible)tiled shower. The other bathroom has a full size tub, sliding doors and a shower above. Both have newer ceiling fans. Due to the previous owner being in a wheelchair, the doorways and master shower are wider than normal. Also, the lanai is twice the size of the others. He was given permission to enlarge it, to accommodate his wheelchair, plus have room for tables and chairs. It extends beyond the normal lanais, increasing our views even further. It has two tables and six chairs instead of the normal four. With a larger group, everyone can be together. |
