Sebago Lake is ranked nationally for bass and land-locked salmon fishing. The lake also has perch, trout, and fishermen are enjoying the smelt runs. Take part in the fun. We have just one week left open in the spring and a few weeks in the fall, perfect times to wet a line.
ALL SEASONS in Maine are everything you'd expect and even more. Maine is an outdoor wonderland: lighthouses, fishing, lobster, wild blueberry pie, golfing, shopping outlets, whale and puffin watching, sandy beaches, colorful scenic drives, museums, hiking, boating, antiquing, and other dramatic things to see. MAINE IS SPECTACULAR! There is so much to experience and so little time that you'll probably be planning your next visit before you leave. Shed your winter blues for a first-class cabin in Maine on Big Sebago Lake this spring.
Sebago Lake is one of the cleanest bodies of water in the world. Sebago Lake is a large open lake, and the water is so clean that it provides the drinking water for Portland. The cottage is located on an acre of grassy land that slopes to a sandy beach and incredible mountain views. There is shallow water for bathing and deep water for boating.
It is CENTRALLY LOCATED in a quiet, upscale neighborhood, yet minutes away from shopping, activities, and restaurants. Your may bring or rent a boat and moor it on the mooring ball, or use the canoe. AT NIGHT, ALL WATER CRAFT MUST BE ON THE MOORING BALL OR BEACHED. If you like to fish, there is plenty of salmon, bass, and trout. Watch and listen to the loons from the comfortable rockers overlooking lovely perennial gardens. The cottage is attractively decorated, spotless, and completely furnished. There are two bedrooms and a sleeping loft with ladder access. Our rental period is from April 1 through November 2 with a one week minimum stay (Saturday to Saturday). This is a no-pet property located in an upscale neighborhood.
Sebago Lake is fun for all seasons.

I will keep this short: owners are great and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The lake and its' views are gorgeous. The yard is huge. The cottage, although small, is cozy and inviting. If you have kids (especially younger ones), they will LOVE the loft! It has everything you need (appliances, entertainment, dishes, phone, internet, etc). Perfect for family vacation. Only 12 min from St. Joseph's College. Restaurants, laundry, and shopping are within 7-10 minutes. Just 40 min to Portland and 60 min to Brunswick.Overall, we loved everything and plan to return! Thanks!Owner response: Thank you for your kind comments. We are always so pleased that our guests enjoy the beauty of Maine, Sebago Lake, and have the opportunity to relax and have an enjoyable time at the cottage. Indeed, the cottage's loft is a special place for kids and adults. Several summers ago we had a family from San Diego, CA, and the parents had to be very persuasive to get the kids to come down. Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your cottage! The house is cozy and inviting, the grounds are spacious, and the lake is peaceful and beautiful. The graduation cake, album, and card were very nice and warmed my heart. This is our first vacation in Maine, but probably not our last. We hope to come back to your cottage soon. God bless you both! The parents. I love the cottage. The lake was so much fun. The cake was good. Yard was wonderful. The rooms were nice. We hope to come back soon! The (cloth) lobsters (on the loft beds) were adorable. God bless you and your family. The daughters.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Dear Marian and Bob - This was just the perfect retreat at your lovely lake front cottage. Your warm welcome and generous hospitality was greatly appreciated. The cottage is darling, so well equipped and comfortable in every way. Loved the blueberry pie and ice cream too! The weather was amazing and let me enjoy the last "hoorah" of summer before (hurricane) Sandy! Best wishes with appreciation,Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Dear Marian and Bob - Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage. We had a wonderful relaxing week, starting with the Fryeburg Fair, then Acadia, Ogunquit and finally the White Mountains. We had the perfect place to return to each day. The view of the lake which is seen through most of the windows was amazing. The perfect place to read and just settle in. Thank you for the many gifts and surprises! The pie, ice cream, pillow, apple butter, and fresh flowers through out the cottage made us feel so welcome and special! It is going to be hard to leave. Thank you again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The following 2012 guests' comments were gathered by an independent company: Guests especially liked: "The view, the beach, the dock and the yard. The neatness, amenities, shoreline, quietness. View, cleanliness, large lawn. Location, beach, more amenities than the typical rental cottage. It was peaceful and tidy. Everything was well taken care of. Questions answered promptly. Everything was fine! A very smooth operation thanks to a caring landlord and an organized rental agent".Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5

..Another lovely week - your perfect cottage filled with special thoughtfulness - fresh cut flowers, apple pie ala mode - even muffins for breakfast - and a hostess gift that will remind us of Sebago all winter long. We had perfect summer days for canoe paddles, walks, and catch-up reading. Good thought about the loons at our beach - but by the time the camera was in hand, we literally could see only the wake they left behind as they moved out of sight. Silly us - big chuckle. Already looking forward to next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
