Year Purchased: 2004
When we first moved to Charleston we always heard about the "barrier islands" of Sullivan's, Isle of Palms, Seabrook and Kiawah. We visited them often for many years. I actually read about the Island of Edisto in "Southern Living" magazine. We decided to make the short drive down and discover it for ourselves. WOW!! It takes you back to the days of life on the beach before high rises and ugly condo complexes and miles of not seeing the water for retail establishments, t-shirt shops, broken glass and no parking... Edisto is completely the opposite of Myrtle Beach. I knew that I wanted to retire there one day. The purchase of the condo was the first step. We rent the condo ourselves and clean it ourselves. The linens are Egyptian cotton linens and the place has been totally "renovated" to fit a modern lifestyle. We hope you enjoy the pure, safe beaches of Edisto as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Edisto Beach
Edisto is a well-preserved, historical area of the lowcountry. It is friendly for couples on honeymoon, families on vacations with pets, and retirees who are traveling south to escape the cold northern winters. The Edisto indians help carve the history long before large plantations of indigo and rice were grown. You can still see real, working plantation today in Edisto. It is a vacation that you can combine with inland treasures, intercoastal waterway trips, and relaxing on the beach. We call Edisto .....EDISSLOW.....because life's stresses disappear as you cross the intercoastal bridge and land on the beach side of life.

Stayed here a couple of years ago. Perfect for couples. Great atmosphere, dream view for golfer, and the bed is super comfy, We will be returning in May, 2009. Could not ask for a better person to rent from. Very accomodating.
Owner response:Allison is a great renter. She likes the condo so much that she tells all her friends and we swap out renters for free guest stays.
