This easy living farm-style house is located on the south end of Bainbridge Island, which is Money Magazine's #2 pick for best place to live in the USA -2005 edition. Our home sits on a 5 acre property, most of which is used for horse pasture. There is a beautiful pond on the northwest side of the yard and the view of the pond and wildlife associated with it make you think you're way out in the country, while only 5 minutes from the city center or 3 blocks from a neighborhood community center with theater, grocery store, pub and several restaurants and many quaint shops as well as beach access to Puget Sound.
Walk to a french diner at an old mansion and take in a movie, pick up breakfast fixings and stroll home. Our home is a two-story with a big Master bedroom with a Queen bed and Master bath, and 2 separate bedrooms; one with a double and one with twin beds sharing a full bath, all on second floor. The Main floor boasts tiled entry and step down into a formal living room with cathedral ceilings and cherry hardwood floors.
Country kitchen has commercial-grade gas range and oven and sub-zero refrigerator. The kitchen is open to the Family Room with a soapstone wood stove if a fire is called for. Utility room and half bath complete the living space, although half of the attached 2 car garage has been converted into a great bunk room with 1 set of bunkbeds and twin, with inside and outside access. This room available on request at extra charge.
A large brick patio on entry side of the house and a big deck off the family room give plenty of space for outdoor relaxing and grilling your favorite food. Large fenced back lawn with a view of the pond and huge fir trees scattered about this comfortable country home. This yard boasts plenty of area for games or pets. Pets will be considered on a case by case basis and can remain contained by the fencing in backyard. Horses in nearby corral complete this private rural setting.
