Location: McHenry, Deep Creek Lake, Maryland, USA (3 hrs. from Balt. & Wash. DC.; 2 hrs from Pittsburgh)

Accommodations:  Cabin Home, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)

New, 1700-square-foot, custom, log cabin with three-sided wrap deck nestled on one+ acre in Deerfield off of Mayhew Inn Road. Beautiful trees and ferns with room to breath. Three miles from Swallows Falls, 2 miles to horseback riding stables and 5 miles to State Park Beach which has full water access and a public boat launch with a great "Discovery Center." We are about six miles south of the Wisp skiing area, with the lake across the street from us, however there is no public access there.

There is a bedroom with a queen and a private bath. Another bedroom with a queen and a bedroom with a double bed and a shared bath. There is a couch in the loft and room for one blow up mattress. Ceiling fans throughout, with great cross ventilation. There is a nice walkout basement to stow gear and all your sporting equipment, but it is still unfinished. There is a foosball table. Gas FP with remote. Peg Perego high chair and a single chico stroller. Comfy NEW furniture, no cast offs from our basement. Great flow to the house. Linens & paper goods are provided at NO additional cost, all you need to bring is your personal gear. Extremly comfortable home where you can put your feet up to read or relax after a day of activities. Campfire pit out front to have a bonfire and roast mashmellows. There is no additional charge for linens or garbage service, however there is a cleaning fee of $100 for the maid service after your departure or you can opt to clean it yourself and forgo the cleaning fee. However if it is not deemed clean after your departure $200 will be deducted from your deposit. (This has never been a problem for us, but just wanted to mention). There is no tax, no booking fee. This is by far the BEST deal in the area. All rates are subject to a holiday premium. Should any group misrepresent themselves they will forfeit the deposit and or be evicted. Pets are welcome with discretion of the owner. There is a $50 pet fee per visit. Cancellations within 21 days are subject to a $200 fee.

One last note. There are two deer heads over the fireplace. We did not shoot these animals. I bought them at a yard sale, in the hopes of displaying their beauty, lest they be killed in vain. Hopes this makes sense to you...

Flexible, non-weekly rentals are okay.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. Every imaginable amenity was included. Nicely decorated and well planned. We particularly loved the deck on three sides of the house. Very relaxing. Our dogs were in heaven having us with them 24 hours a day. Swallow Falls was incredible.

  • We had a wonderful time at this cabin. The cabin is in excellent condition and it is extremely comfortable, especially with kids. The cowboy theme in the bunk room was a hit and it was really helpful that there were plastic plates and cups for the little ones. The cabin is situated in a very quiet and relaxing area. However, everything is close by, including Swallow Falls State Park, which was a perfect outing for the kids. We look forward to returning in the future.
