Calypso has just been completely refurbished for the new season and is now available. We have all new paint, carpet, furnishings, and it has been professionally decorated.
As our gift to you, each person who stays with us at will receive a free Calypso T-Shirt as a souvenir to remind you every time you wear it of what an incredible time you had on vacation on Hilton Head Island! Be sure and email us or call us with everyone's sizes. You will also recieve 2 free golf passes to Old South Golf Links with your off season rental.
Go have dinner right down the road at one of the various South Beach Marina restaurants, including the world famous Salty Dog Cafe or grill out by the pool in style. The beach is located right around the corner, just a 5 minute bike ride. There are an abundance of activities right inside the gates of Sea Pines Plantation for you to enjoy.
Calypso has everything you might need during your stay with us. There are TVs in every bedroom as well as a plasma TV in the den.
Downstairs: 1 Queen Bedroom, 1 King Bedroom, and a Bedroom with 2 Twin Beds
Upstairs: 2 King Bedrooms and a Bedroom with 2 Full Beds
We also have a pull out Queen Sleeper and a Twin size love-seat pull out.
Included in your stay is 1 hour of tennis for each day of your stay with us at the South Beach Racquet Club! If you don't care to bring your own racquet, they are available to demo (rent) for just $5.00. These are high quality tennis racquets, not junk, which is comforting to know if you are an avid tennis player.
The beautiful beach is just minutes away by foot, bike, or car. If you care to walk, it is under 10 minutes to the access path which is about 100 yds long. By bike it would take merely a few minutes. If you wanted to go by car to the other beach that Sea Pines has to offer, which is located at the Sea Pines Beach Club, it would take 5 minutes.
It is just under 3 miles from Calypso and offers a beach shop, snack bar grill with everything from chicken fingers and burgers to grilled chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. There is a bunch of parking and a drop-off point for Dad to let everyone out, while he parks! They also have a fantastic covered outdoor beach bar with incredible frozen drinks! I have very credible firsthand knowledge of this!
If you are interested in other activities, South Beach marina offers deep-sea fishing charters, windsailing lessons, jet-ski rentals, parasailing and guided kayak tours daily. This would give you and terrific opportunity at seeing some of our unique wildlife closer than you ever thought possible.
If you are lucky you will get to see dolphin scare smaller fish up onto the mud banks of winding tributaries and they literally throw their bodies up onto the mud to feed. It is an incredible site and the dolphin are VERY friendly. You can even take dolphin tours where it is not uncommon for them to come right up to the boat.
If you are a runner, biker, or walker, there miles after miles of winding trails all throughout Sea Pines Plantation. You will pass many golf courses and lagoons and will surely be lucky enough to find an alligator asleep and sunning himself on the bank.
There are so many terrific restaurants that specialize in seafood that the list is too long to write. Voted #1 seafood restaurant on Hilton Head Island is The Kingfisher which is located in Shelter Cove and offers live entertainment nightly and waterfront views. My personal favorite restaurant is the Santa Fe Cafe, located just before the entrance to Palmetto Dunes Plantation on the right.
