I live 3 blocks from the condo – so when 6 of my family members came to visit for a long weekend, it was a no-brainer to have them stay at this condo. The owners were great to work with – very helpful providing everything we needed, including a pack-n-play and high chair for my niece. My family had an overall great stay at the condo. It was very nice, clean, spacious – and being right next to the park was perfect for the kids. Having the living space and feeling at home definitely beat staying in a hotel! Although I had my car there, we never actually used it. We were able to walk to the Red/Brown/Purple Line stop at Fullerton – just a short walk away – to get everywhere we wanted to go.Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car.

I would recommend anyone to stay at this property. A classmate and I came to Chicago for 3 months and required a place to live, and Lincoln Park Oasis delivered for us. They were more than accommodating, allowing us to stay in a different unit while we waited for the one we were renting to open up. We had the opportunity to live in all 3 units during our stay, and they are all uniform and great. The units are clean, and give a "homey" sense while you are away. They were prompt in any requests that we had, or issues that arose (no major issues, just burnt out light bulbs). By far one of the best renting experiences I have ever been a part of. They do short term (3+days and longer term commitments of 3 months). No complaints, Lincoln Park Oasis is recommended to all.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a great time. The place was perfect for us. Just a few blocks from DePaul and the El and a grocery store. We were able to visit our Freshman during family weekend and even host a 15 person parent /student dinner party! Hopefully you will see more of us over the next 4 years.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We rented Unit 1 for almost a week in August for our first "big" family vacation. The location was fantastic for us - our two sons (ages 6 and 8) loved the park down the block and it was a great option when the kids needed to burn off some energy. It was initially a bit of a walk to the train but after a few trips into/around the city, we quickly adjusted to the lifestyle. Tons of restaurants within a 10-15 walk and the neighborhood felt very safe and family-friendly, even walking back from the train late at night. This isn't a super-chic hotel suite, so if you're expecting that you will be disappointed. What you should expect is to feel like you're house-sitting for a friend. Unit 1 is homey and comfortable. All of the basics are there, and it is clean and roomy. Unit 1 was bigger than we expected from the photos. There was plenty of closet space, which is nice for a long stay, as is having laundry within the condo. We didn't use the kitchen as often as we thought we would. We realized early on that a big part of Chicago is just eating amazing food, so our kitchen use was limited mostly to cereal and heating up leftovers. Reima, the owner, was very easy to work with from the beginning. Whether it was getting an extra parking sticker, or fixing some accidental damage, Reima was calm and responsive. Her responsiveness was the main reason we decided to rent this unit over others we considered on various websites. Other property owners took days (or even weeks!) to respond. We appreciated that professionalism and hoped that it would continue into our visit, which it did. We would absolutely stay at Draper St. again. Our kids loved it and we thought it was a great value.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My family stayed in the lower level unit for one week in July, 2012. It was four of us (two kids under 10) and the space was adequate for us. The living room is pretty small - only the couch in it, but the kitchen table is close and there were few times all four of us were in the living room anyway. The kitchen was very clean and well supplied. Because it is the lower unit, it was quite cool, but since Chicago was in the middle of a heat wave, we welcomed the chilliness. If you are planning a winter stay, it might be a a little too chilly down there. The location is awesome. The house is located on a dead end street with plenty of street parking. We needed parking permits while we were there, and they were on the kitchen table when we arrived. There is a park less than a block away, and another even larger park approx. four blocks away. Both were clean with plenty to keep our kids occupied. It's an easy walk to the Fullerton "L" stop, and the grocery store is next door to the train stop. The bus was a short walk as well. I'm not giving the unit a 5 star rating because it could use a little TLC. While it is clean, it could use a paint job and some general sprucing up. All the walls are stark white, which shows the scuff marks or dirt, and seems "cold" in general. And the shower definitely needs cleaned or replaced. There was mold in the caulking and it didn't seem very clean. Overall I would recommend this unit. The price was excellent, as was the location. The owners answered my questions and were easy to contact.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: I am sorry that the unit was cold for you. We ask you to close your vents if you feel cold or let us know and we will turn the thermostat up. The boys who stayed there before you, wanted it really chilled. So, I thought that it being real hot outside everyone would want it cold inside. We have adjusted the thermostat to 75 degrees. We will attend to the shower right away, sorry if you noticed that the caulk was moldy.

Our family of four spent a week in Unit 3 when we visited Chicago. It suited our needs perfectly, with a great kitchen and room to spread out. It was clean and well maintained. The location was a great base to explore the city from. We found it easy to get around with public transport and we felt safe walking around the lovely neighbourhood. We would certainly recommend this to others.Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car.

The apartment was a very nice space. The washer and dryer came in so handy. The neighborhood was wonderful. The other tenants that were in the building were very nice as well. Downtown was very accessible within a few blocks walk. Plenty of stores, resturants, and bars. We just did not have enough time to do everything we would have liked.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We LOVED this place. We came with a 3 year old and 9 month old baby and had a marvelous time. It was well suited for a family. The playground which is literally right next door was gorgeous. We loved being so close to the FREE Lincoln Park Zoo. I'm always nervous traveling with toddlers, but this was perfect. Very stress-free. Reima went out of her way to make this easy for a young family. When we left I accidentally took the house key with me. Reima was extremely gracious and allowed me to simply mail it back to her. I'm in the process of booking our return trip!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Public transportation was a short walk and very helpful. A much better alternative to a hotel. Will definately recommend and hope to return.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Unit 1F was very clean and comfortable. There was adequate room for our group of six, which included 4 teens, and a seven-year old. The house was located in a nice quiet neighborhood, with many conveniences, restaurants and stores within a short driving distance. We explored the area on foot as well. I enjoyed getting my morning coffee from Starbucks which was only one block away! I would take my coffee and my seven year old to the nice children's park which was steps away from the house, where he played on the slides, swings, and in the sandbox. The owner was very accommodating and gracious. We would highly recommend this rental to anyone!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Thank You Reima! Our recent stay last week at Unit 1F on Draper St exceeded our expectations with ample living space, comfortable beds and all the "extras" like bath essentials and stocked kitchen cabinets w/condiments etc. The neighborhood was AWESOME with quiet streets that were close to everything! We had a very short walk to a great playground, Starbucks and the local grocer--Dominicks. The free parking permits you gave allowed us to avoid parking fees that most owners charge! It was a very short drive to Lake Shore Dr,Navy Pier and downtown as well. I can't say enough about your property! We will definitley recommend it to anyone staying in the Chicago area and look forward to returning to your great city! Thanks again, The Ramirez Family from TexasDid you find this review helpful? My family came into town for my PhD Convocation from the University of Chicago. The 6 of us fit snugly into the very clean and comfortable place. Could have stayed in separate hotel rooms but then we'd have missed the bonding experience! Having a fully stocked kitchen sure helped save time and money. It was only 15 minutes to the loop by El and less than an hour to either airport by cab or train. Everyone had a great weekend!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We loved our stay in Chicago. This house was really nice. It was central to lots of attractions and an easy walk to Chicago's transportation system. It has 4 bedroom but one bathroom. The one bathroom was a challenge but we made it work. The house is clean and nicely decorated. We definately would stay here next time we are in Chicago.Did you find this review helpful? Reima, My most recent stay in April 2007 at your Draper (#2) apartment was just as I remembered several years ago. I thoroughly enjoy the space, privacy, and quiet environment of this location and will definitely stay in this property on my next visit to Chicago. Traveling with a friend of mine, who was new to Chicago, we enjoyed all of the convenience of shopping, restaurants and the overall experience that you can't get from a hotel stay. I would definitely return to your property in a heartbeat! Nicki CarrDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We really enjoyed our stay here, spacious, comfortable and ideally located for us in a lovely area. We used the car and the "el" successfully during our visit. Having 8 adults and 2 children, it was wonderful for everyone to have their own room, to have 2 kitchens, and plenty of space for the kids to run around. The place was beautiful and I am going to recommend it to people I know who are going to Chicago! Thank you also for the parking permits. Three of Us spent this past St. Patrick's Parade weekend (2006) in Chicago. We had previously spent this same weekend in Chicago two years prior and had a great time, So We vowed to do it again. The last time We stayed at a nearby Motel, which was alright, such as it was. But this year we rented the W. Draper St. Condo for three nights, and the accomodations were excellent. It was not only economically comparable (split 3 ways). But it was much roomier than a motel room, plus the added convenience of a kitchen and of having a living room for guests, not to mention a washer and dryer at Your fingertips, plus the Parking privileges, and the privacy. We have already recommended it to Our Friend's.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Your condo was perfect for the family. My mother-in-law wants to return and rent your condo again for another family gathering. The parking alone was unbeatable. Thank you for the parking permits. All three of our vehicles found parking every time we returned from an outing. Our 4 year old nephew's parents were relieved to see Children's Memorial Hospital down the street, since the child is prone to seizures. He had a terrible ear ache Christmas Eve, but there was less worry as the hospital was so close. The condo was large enough to put up a full-size Christmas tree in the dining room, a slot car track from one end of the living room to the other end of the dining room, and plenty of room to sit around which is what we did most of the time. I really liked the fact the condo is on a side street where the city noise didn't get to it since everyone but us is used to country quiet. Everyone enjoyed taking a morning and evening stroll around the neighborhood and felt very safe. We can't wait to get together at your condo again. Thank you so much, Reima.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This is a great location and a very clean, attractive and comfortable residence. I stayed there with my husband and son for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the safe neighborhood and its restaurants, shops, parks, transportation, and proximity to downtown. We rented a car and the overnight parking on the street was easy and always available. Parking is expensive in downtown Chicago so we often left our car and took the "L", the station is within walking distance. I recommend this highly as an alternative to staying downtown. It was fun being a part of a neighborhood and experiencing Chicago in a very different way.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Just a quick note to say "Thanks again!", for being so helpful on our visit to Chicago. The neighborhood around the apartment was a joy to stroll through. We saw 2 baseball games while in Chicago, coming home around 11 PM both nights. I was worried before we came to Chicago, but now I understand that this is as safe an area as a person could hope to find. And what marvelous gardens and architecture! As a builder and a real estate investor in my own city, I paid alot of attention to the homes and businesses all around us there. We made good use of the public transportation while there also, starting with the nearby Red Line. But we walked to the Grant Park Zoo and to many of the local sights. It helped that the mid-August weather was perfect... Our family was very comfortable and fit comfortably into the four separate bedrooms. The kitchen and bath were very nice too. Best wishes! Jerry Hof PS A cab came by just as we got to the corner, so we took it directly to Union Station. Thanks for offering a ride anyway! JHDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
