A Jewel in the heart of Marrakech

Our group of four couples, all long time friends, stayed at Riad Trois Coures the first week of March 2011. We arrived into Morocco with some trepidation as the Arabic Spring had begun in the Middle East and North Africa and we were concerned that we would be caught up in issues in Morocco. We had nothing at all to have been worried about. We spent three weeks touring Marrakech, Essaoiura, the Toubkal Mountains, Ouarzazate, Merzouga, Fes and Chefchouen and we never experienced any problems. The Moroccan and Berber people were welcoming, kind and would have done anything at all for you and not a peep of a demonstration, riot, or disagreement did we witness. Maybe only the men in the souks yelling "Balak! Balak!" to make you get out of the way of the donkey about to run you over could have been mistaken as a problem! So back to this fabulous Riad. Frits the owner was so prompt answering all of my questions and even questions I didn't know I had when we were booking his home. The house manager, Magid, had arranged for us to be picked up at the airport, 8 people and a container full of luggage. Magid and Touhammia greeted us with a tour of the home, so we could choose our bedrooms and then the traditional mint tea and delicious pastries were served on the rooftop terrace. The home is gorgeous, filled with beautiful Moroccan tile, art and fabrics gracing terraces, nooks, courtyards, fountains, pool and bedrooms. Plus it is in a great location, close to the souks but also quiet and private. Touhammia and the staff were so gracious and kept us fed and very happy. Breakfast was always a feast, served on the rooftop terrace but also in the dining room and dinners, which do cost extra and were reserved the day of, were amazing tagines and Moroccon desserts all artfully presented. Those definitely were our best and most relaxing dinners during the entire trip, along with our Riad in Skoura. The home also had WiFi for those of us sending photos back home to our jealous friends and family. I would highly recommend this wonderful Riad in Marrakech to friends traveling together, families but maybe not with young children, and those guests who can negotiate some stairs possibly as some bedrooms are upstairs. Thanks to all of you at Riad Trois Coures for making our first visit to Morocco so special. Nancy and Greg, Rebecca and Robert, Pat and Mike and Paula and Gary. Again, Chokran - ????
Owner response:Only by personal experience it can be shown that also Americans are most welcome in Marrakech.

I had always wanted to stay in Marrakesh but never envisaged that I would stay in such a superb home. Beautifully maintained and decorated; impeccable and unobtrusive service at whatever time and for whatever request; and all within 5minutes walk of the great Market Halls. The photographs and descriptions in the listings whilst excellent do not do full justice to a stunning property. I would have no hesitation in recommending Trois Coures to anybody. The owner went out of his way to answer all our requests and enquiries promptly and efficiently. agreat week's break.

Frits, My family and I visited your beautiful Les Trois Cours in Marrakech the 2nd week in May of 2007 and I was stunned by the beauty and quality of your home. My recommendation for this beautiful riad is immense!! Every attention to detail and comfort is provided. We came in the late afternoon, tired and hot, and were greeted by the kindest and most wonderful staff. They treated us to the calming sounds of the waterfall, with beautiful cut flowers on the table and then brought us fresh pastries and cool drinks. We were instantly mesmerized. All of the staff is trustworthy, friendly, helpful, warm, and kind. Your wish is their command! Majid is the manager of this incredible property and he is amazing! He helped us to acquire sought after items in the market, catch a taxi to the right place and how to return back, made recommendations for wonderful restaurants and sightseeing, helped provide directions, talked to the airport about lost luggage, found my daughter's lost jacket somewhere in marrakech, and attended to every thing we could possibly need. Touhamia lovingly prepared our delicious breakfast each morning which we enjoyed on the rooftop terrace. Rachid was always ready with a smile and friendly demeanor. One night he escourted us to our restaurant 10 minutes away so we would not get lost and made sure we knew how to return to the riad. We have stayed in some beautiful accomodations in our world travels, but this riad is by far one of the lovliest and most beautiful accomodations we have ever stayed in and we felt very lucky to have such an amazing riad on this visit to Marrakech. We truly did not want to leave. It is an oasis in Morocco and the furnishings are absolutely exquisite and the bedrooms divine. We stayed in the beautiful zagora and thought it was stunning, but my daughters stayed in the fes and loved it equally as much. I would recommend this property 100% and hope one day to be fortunate enough to reurn.

Les Trois Cours is a most delightful, calm, welcoming riad. My friend and I stayed from 7th March until 13th March 2007 and were totally impressed. Majid was always friendly, polite and extremely helpful. He is an excellent manager aware of every need and detail. Touhamia is a gifted cook and provided us with delicious meals. Her Pastilla with the lightest, flakiest pastry will certainly draw us back again. Her willingness to serve us old favourites or try something different was remarkable. Rachid must be mentioned for his big smile and ready helpfulness. In fact we had the happiest and most comfortable, well fed time in Marrakech. We recommend this delightful haven certain in the knowledge it will be a wonderful and relaxing experience. We thank all concerned and send Majid and his lovely staff our fond regards. My wife and I stayed at the Riad with another couple in March, 2006. Everything about our stay was a wonderful experience, the physical appearance and spaciousness, the terrace where the sun shone brightly at breakfast, the amazing dinners, the convenient location in Marrakech, the service. Majid is a great resource for everything. He and the staff showed us special places, helped us in a variety of ways and overall were more than we could have expected. All of us agree we would come back and highly recommend the Trois Cours to others. Allan & Anne Affleck

We stayed at Riad Trois Cours as a large group for New Year 2006, with some family members staying nearby in a small hotel. Our experince at Trois Cours could not have been better. The building itself is stunning - the photographs on this site cannot do it justice. It has obviously been restored as someone's home, as every detail is perfect. There are fireplaces in every room which created wonderfully atmospheric winter evenings (but also mod cons such as heating and air con if we,d needed them). The 3 courtyards are beautiful, with lemon trees in one, a fountain and sitting area in the next and in the last one a swimming pool (which seemed a good size by riad standards) and shaded dining area and openair shower. There were other lovely sitting areas on the first floor and then a large roof terrace where we had fantastic breakfasts each day (freshly squeezed mandarin juice, pancakes, croissants etc). The bedrooms were all very nice as well and offered privacy because of the layout around 3 courtyards rather than 1. The food served in the riad was so good and the atmosphere so relaxed that we ended up eating 'at home' most evenings. What really made our stay special, however, was the staff at Trois Cours. They made sure that every detail of our holiday was perfect. Majid, who organises the house looked after all of us from the minute we arrived. He arranged trips to the atlas mountains (booking us into a superb restaurant), caleche rides, hammans etc etc and made sure we were charged fair prices for everything, which saved us a lot of time and hastle. We were a large group but he looked after us with unfailing charm and good humour. He arranged 2 special 'banquet' meals at the riad with musicians etc, which were exceptional. The other staff Touhamia and Sara (our cooks) and Rachid were also lovely. The location of the riad was also very good, on a very quiet sidesteet off a pedestrian street in a quiet part of the medina. We will definitely return.

A truly lovely oasis geared only to the comfort of the guests. The staff is friendly and helpful, the location ideal for visitors to the city. The details and decoration of the house have been well thought out, adding to the pleasantness of coming home after a long day of shopping. I do recommend this lovely accommodation.
