Hinton cabin description
"Lazy Falls" Riverfront Cabin is surrounded by a mountain amphitheater located along some of the most spectacular scenery the crystal clear Greenbrier River has to offer. Not only is the river in your backyard but the cabin is located on what the locals call "Lindsey's Slide," which is a gradual sloping waterfall that any child or grown up will have fun playing on. All the amenities of home are provided with the cabin.
Lazy Falls Cabin is remotely located on a one lane paved road, with no traffic, however, the nearest town is only 15 minutes away with major grocery and department stores. All recreation whether it be whitewater rafting, skiing or simply shopping for antiques is all within an hour or less from the cabin. One of the most popular activities on the river is tubing. So if you want to play hard or lounge in the hammock by the falls, the choice is yours. Have fun!

Long Weekend on the Greenbrier
Long Weekend on the Greenbrier
Friends from OH and NC travel to meet in the Hinton WV area every year to enjoy the fall scenery and Railroad Days. This was the first time we stayed at this house and we were very happy with the accomodations, cleanliness and location. The Greenbrier is literally outside your door and we enjoyed the peaceful sounds of the river. Nice dog friendly house and neighborhood - all of our pups had a great time laying on the screened-in porch, letting us know if there was a squirrel in the yard, and sunning themselves. Gorgeous scenery - we love this area of WV. The owners Jean & Scott, were very responsive - thanks for sharing your home.

If you're looking for down-time, this is a great place to get away. It's a friendly neighborhood. Lots of entertainment being near the public access. We enjoyed our relaxing week.

Four friends from north and south met in the middle for a needed vacation. We chose This house in West Virginia because of the river in the back, and because of the mountains that surround it. We brought along our motorcycles and spent many of our days driving around the countryside. This was a great idea because at the end of the day we could come back to this cozy house and make our own meals and have a bonfire at night and relax. We all enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, the house came equiped with everything you would need to stay there. It was decorated nicely and had a lovely screened in porch to sit on as well. The only thing I missed was tubing down the river, but that was our fault because of our riding. This would be a great destination for motorcycle owners who would like to spend some time on hilly roads for a change.

Excellent Vacation Rental
Excellent Vacation Rental
The house was easy to find. It is an ideal location. You can see the river rapids from the big screened in front porch. For people with disabilities, you can drive your car almost to the river. The pictures and information in this listing is very accurate. The house has plenty of room, very clean, and has anything that you would need away from home. We caught a lot of redeye, bass, sunfish, and catfish. The owners were great. They communicated and answered all questions we had. The locals were great, very friendly, and gave us a lot of information about the area. There is a lot of places with history to visit nearby. I would recommend this property to everyone wanting to get away for a quiet, relaxing, getaway with children, grandchildren, and pets. It was great fun swimming, sliding down the rock slide in the river, and using water floats. Of all our vacations to the river, I must say that this was the very best. We hope we can book this house a lot in the future.

Our stay there was wonderful. We have been on many vacations and this was by far the most relaxing and peaceful stay ever. We hope to stay there next year.

This is a nice and very clean little house. Not actually in Hinton, but in Talcott, WV. Nice furniture and bedding- well appointed kitchen and bathroom. Nice TV's/DVD player with DirectTV. River access is basically in the back yard to the house, and very close. My only sticking point would be that the river access is actually shared with all the property owner's in this area, and their "guests", which to me seemed to basically be public stream access. My family stayed here over a very busy weekend and we counted over 40 people crowded onto the river access. The vast majority of the people were very nice and respectful to your privacy, but there was an occasional ATV/golf cart/ zipping through the back yard while we were sitting there. There was also quite a bit of traffic up and down the little access road to the river with several vehicles that would pull up in the driveway to the house to either turn around or let another vehicle pass. Not a huge downfall, again, but something to be made aware of. If you are someone that wants an extremely quiet weekend with no one around and in a secluded spot, this may not be the place for you. Overall, I enjoyed myself. We chose to spend a very special weekend in this house, and I will never forget the experience. We actually had a get together with family to celebrate a major accomplishment in my life over the weekend that we were there, and I VERY MUCH appreciate the property owners allowing this to take place. Great little house that is very clean and well appointed. There is actually quite a bit of misc. items that are in the kitchen to cook about anything you would want to cook. Very nice owners that are very responsive to concerns. Nice gas grill on the back porch for cooking out. I would definitely come back.

Nice weekend getaway
Nice weekend getaway
Great little house with everything you need for a relaxing weekend on the river. Beautiful scenery right out your back door. My friends and I had a lot of fun just floating down the river, trying to catch a few smallmouth bass, and talking around the bonfire at night. Very informative and helpful owners and neighbors. Next time I will stay longer!

We rented two years ago and then again August 2010. We were so excited to return. The cabin has all of the things you need to relax and rejuvinate. The beds are cozy, the kitchen is equipped well, and there is a great supply of games and movies. The location on the river is the best we have seen anywhere with the "slide" being close, providing a lot of fun and also the peaceful sound of rushing water. The cabin is located on a street that is wonderful for walking or riding bikes. The community is welcoming and we always enjoy the local dogs, including the one which dives for rocks! :-) The shade by the river means that if you are careful, you can skip the sunscreen occasionally. This cabin is one of our favorite places for kids and adults alike. We are so glad to have found the listing and we look forward to our next visit!

Excellent location with all the comforts of home. Nice and clean with easy access to river, which has small rapids/falls adequate for small children to float and slide down. Our family was very impressed and will return again. We would recommend this location to anyone who enjoys to get away for a relaxing vacation.

A HOME AWAY FROM HOME
A HOME AWAY FROM HOME
We had a wonderful time. There is only one problem once you arrive and see the beautiful river you don't want to leave the premises!! The cabin was very comfy and the neighbors and visitors were so welcoming. The boys caught catfish and bass in the river and we all enjoyed the nightly campfires while listening to the rolling river. We definitely recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy gorgeous surroundings and the nature that it has to offer. We really felt at home. Thanks!
