The house was easy to find. It is an ideal location. You can see the river rapids from the big screened in front porch. For people with disabilities, you can drive your car almost to the river. The pictures and information in this listing is very accurate. The house has plenty of room, very clean, and has anything that you would need away from home. We caught a lot of redeye, bass, sunfish, and catfish. The owners were great. They communicated and answered all questions we had. The locals were great, very friendly, and gave us a lot of information about the area. There is a lot of places with history to visit nearby. I would recommend this property to everyone wanting to get away for a quiet, relaxing, getaway with children, grandchildren, and pets. It was great fun swimming, sliding down the rock slide in the river, and using water floats. Of all our vacations to the river, I must say that this was the very best. We hope we can book this house a lot in the future.

Our stay there was wonderful. We have been on many vacations and this was by far the most relaxing and peaceful stay ever. We hope to stay there next year.

This is a nice and very clean little house. Not actually in Hinton, but in Talcott, WV. Nice furniture and bedding- well appointed kitchen and bathroom. Nice TV's/DVD player with DirectTV. River access is basically in the back yard to the house, and very close. My only sticking point would be that the river access is actually shared with all the property owner's in this area, and their "guests", which to me seemed to basically be public stream access. My family stayed here over a very busy weekend and we counted over 40 people crowded onto the river access. The vast majority of the people were very nice and respectful to your privacy, but there was an occasional ATV/golf cart/ zipping through the back yard while we were sitting there. There was also quite a bit of traffic up and down the little access road to the river with several vehicles that would pull up in the driveway to the house to either turn around or let another vehicle pass. Not a huge downfall, again, but something to be made aware of. If you are someone that wants an extremely quiet weekend with no one around and in a secluded spot, this may not be the place for you. Overall, I enjoyed myself. We chose to spend a very special weekend in this house, and I will never forget the experience. We actually had a get together with family to celebrate a major accomplishment in my life over the weekend that we were there, and I VERY MUCH appreciate the property owners allowing this to take place. Great little house that is very clean and well appointed. There is actually quite a bit of misc. items that are in the kitchen to cook about anything you would want to cook. Very nice owners that are very responsive to concerns. Nice gas grill on the back porch for cooking out. I would definitely come back.
Owner response:The river is always busy during Holiday weekends! Glad you had a good time!!!Congratulations on your graduation!!

Great little house with everything you need for a relaxing weekend on the river. Beautiful scenery right out your back door. My friends and I had a lot of fun just floating down the river, trying to catch a few smallmouth bass, and talking around the bonfire at night. Very informative and helpful owners and neighbors. Next time I will stay longer!

We rented two years ago and then again August 2010. We were so excited to return. The cabin has all of the things you need to relax and rejuvinate. The beds are cozy, the kitchen is equipped well, and there is a great supply of games and movies. The location on the river is the best we have seen anywhere with the "slide" being close, providing a lot of fun and also the peaceful sound of rushing water. The cabin is located on a street that is wonderful for walking or riding bikes. The community is welcoming and we always enjoy the local dogs, including the one which dives for rocks! :-) The shade by the river means that if you are careful, you can skip the sunscreen occasionally. This cabin is one of our favorite places for kids and adults alike. We are so glad to have found the listing and we look forward to our next visit!

Excellent location with all the comforts of home. Nice and clean with easy access to river, which has small rapids/falls adequate for small children to float and slide down. Our family was very impressed and will return again. We would recommend this location to anyone who enjoys to get away for a relaxing vacation.

We had a wonderful time. There is only one problem once you arrive and see the beautiful river you don't want to leave the premises!! The cabin was very comfy and the neighbors and visitors were so welcoming. The boys caught catfish and bass in the river and we all enjoyed the nightly campfires while listening to the rolling river. We definitely recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy gorgeous surroundings and the nature that it has to offer. We really felt at home. Thanks!

This was our best family vacation yet. My daughters are 8 and 10 and each day had a blast. The cabin was fully equipped with everything and more. The yard was big and my black lab had lots of room to roam. Every morning my daughters would play in the river since it was so close. They also enjoyed the lazy river (rock waterfalls) and my husband did too brought the kid back out in him. The fishing was good too my husband caught three fish in 20 minutes. We went kayaking and that was our first time and the river was beautiful, we chose the 5 hour trip down the river and that was well worth it. We also did site seeing in the area and the mountains and state parks are close by and so pretty.Theres alot of fun things to see there close by and it does not take alot out of your pocket book. Thanks again to the renters Jean and Scott for helping making our stay a wonderful one!

We had a great time at the cabin. Out of the 12 days we stayed there, only 2 were spent away from the river. Mostly we fished and tubed over the slide, with Youngest boogie boarding the rapids endlessly. Do bring aqua socks or old sneakers for negotiating the rocks. The swim hole above the slide was lovely, and even over my head in places. I particularly was fond of sitting at the bottom of the slide, in my own natural jacuzzi caused by the turbulance of the rapids. What you can do on the river will be dependent on water levels. It was a bit low for kayaking, and Sis and I dragged on rocks quite a bit when we put in at the Talcott bridge and kayaked down. However, Eldest got to safely practice dealing with currents in our kayak at the base of the falls, an excellent experience. My preference would be for more privacy, as that part of the river is common access for the neighborhood and some people felt it OK to cut through the yard instead of using the access road. This would have been less of an issue had our dog not had such a problem with it. Though the locals were more than happy to help, a note book of local attractions, restaurants, places to shop would be much appreciated. Best of luck in your endeavors...you have found a wonderful location! Julie Y

After almost two weeks here, I am still amazed by the view from the porch. We have rented many of properties and this view is among the prettiest. The swing on the porch was wonderful. Our 8 year old enjoyed boogie boarding the slide and our 11 year practiced negotiating the currents at the bottom of the slide in our kayaks. I particulary enjoyed sitting in the natural jacuzzi, letting it sooth my sore muscles after our kayak trip from Talcott Bridge.Sandstone falls was beautiful.

I was a guest at Lazy Falls Cabin in late March. It is in a beautiful location, yet convenient to beautful West Virginia attractions. The cabin is as described, and is very comfortable. I had a good time.

Our cabin has almost everything you will need. The kitchen has microwave, toaster, blender, mixer, chopper, plenty of plastic & glass dishes for every occassion. The view is beautiful. It is located on a rocky beachfront with a classI-II rapid. You can drive up the road and put in tubes and float to your back door or down from your back door and pull them out down the road. The house is very clean. It has new carpet, wood floors, bathroom, freshly painted. You will enjoy your time laying in the hammock. If you use any items please put them back the way you found them.
