Spectacular & Unique Mediterranean Mansion - 9000+ Square Feet

  While the asthetics of the house are beautiful with the open airness of all the rooms and the beautiful swimming pool and hot tub and the view of the waterway. There are several things that really need to have some attention too. The door going into the laundry room is a mirrored sliding door the mirror was broken and taped. The upstairs master bath had 2 of the vanity doors hanging by the hinges and the sheets didn't fit properly on the bed and you woke up to the sheets had come loose and were all underneath you. 4 1/2 baths should be more like 5 1/2 baths. There is a bedroom downstairs with 2 queen size beds that didn't have their own bathroom so the guests downstairs were having to borrow someone elses private bath for showers etc. The TV downstairs didn't work only if you wanted to watch a DVD. We had an incident at 2 am with the sprinkling system blowing a sprinkler head off during the watering and woke up the people sleeping downstairs who thought their bedroom was flooding when I called the manager she asked me what she was supoose to do she was in Miami. I'm sorry I an renting this for a week this is the managers problem not the tenant. It was taken care of the next day but I felt the sitation needed to be handled differently. As stated before some cosmetic repairs need to be done.

  The price is unbeatable. The place is huge with great views. Everyone I stayed with was commenting how comfortable the beds were and how soft the comforters were. The bedding was unbelievable. We were blessed with great weather. Overall we had a great stay and we would stay again. It would not be good feedback if we did not leave areas of opportunity. First off, I read the last review and my only concern was that the pool or jacuzzi would not be operational. Well of course my luck the Jacuzzi and pool was not warm when we arrived so the pool man was called and he came out the next day. The pool man said he set the pool so warm that water evaporated and the heater stopped working. The pool man assured me this would be up and running in 24 hours, which would make the pool warm my 3rd day. Well Day 5 the pool was the same as it was and the pool man said he is only a "cleaner" and not a maintenance man and he thought he had already lost this job , which he said only made him 30 bucks a visit which he spends in gas. Meanwhile the rental agent was emailing me saying the pool man said I was satisfied and the pool was 80 degrees. I explained to the broker the pool was 60 degrees and the pool man was not being truthful. When I asked the pool man what happened to the pool being warm in 24 hours; the pool man told me it would take 3 days because this is 30k gallons. My impression since another home we visited did not have a warm pool was that these heaters break and the money is not spent to fix the heaters. The agent offered me 2 extra nights which I was not interested in since I had booked my flight and 7 days was overkill already, as I am usually ready to come home after 4-5 days anywhere. Luckily we did have a couple that extended their stay so this was acceptable. A couple of minor issues with a TV that would not turn on that looked like it was recently installed. I did not have any issues with any updates or lack there of. I thought the decor was fine. We were able to figure everything out for the most part but I did notice some other homes have a reference book tabbed with who to call, how to work the remotes, thermostat, pool, trash, etc.. You can not beat the price. Maintaining a rental to 100% satisfaction when you are not there is near impossible especially a bigger home since there is more to go wrong. if you are considering this place, then stop thinking about it and book it before someone else does. You wont find cheaper for this size.

  Owner response: The pool situation was resolved by keeping the water levels above the skimmer, the pool heater can not heat the water if there is no water to be heated. The tv has been replaced by a brand new plasma.

  We were disappointed that the house was not as claimed, and in need of MANY repairs. Exterior doors would not open and/or close, cabinet doors were broken in the kitchen and bath areas, showers and sink faucets leaked, many light fixtures burnt out, speaker system did not function properly, and during storms there were major roof leaks into the interior of the home. We had trash cans set out all over to catch the rainwater - very slippery on marble floor. Exterior of home and pool area were covered with black mildew, pool heater and hot tub operation were not working correctly (we could only operate by pulling or putting in fuse). We had to call in the pool guy to clean the pool at our own expense, there wasn't even a net to use so we could clean out the pool. No fire extinguishers or working smoke detector at all in the house. The advertised "gourmet" kitchen was definitely not, appliances were old and in rough condition and the flat screen tv in living room was more of a computer monitor size screen. Only two public beaches - north end has good shelling but you have to cross a channel to get to it (watch for low tide schedule). South end was better but crowded. This could be a beautiful house if fixed up and maintained. If the house was repaired we might consider staying again but definitely would not go back or recommend in it's current condition. We did contact owner and property manager upon our return home but had little response, mainly excuses. Also, because the other 5-star ratings are from someone in Miami it seems as though it's the owners friends or relatives giving the rating to boost their score. If we had been given reviews from more actual renters our own decision to rent would have been different - which is why we are sharing our own experiences for others to read.

  Owner response: All the issues mentioned in this review were resolved 5 months ago. The owners of this property are members of Service of America which is a company who does service and maintance for homes in Marco Island. Many travelers love to inspect vacations homes are if they were buyers instead off short term renters, they do it with the intention of finding any thing wrong, usually normal tear and wear of any home that is not brand new and that is being rented constantly. The purpose behind it is to get some money back or additional vacation time in the future. When they realize they are not getting anything back, then they will write a bad reviews. This lady rented this home with a party of 8 people for 6 days for a very reasonable price of $2000 with all fees included. I think she had a great vacation in a beautifull home at a bargain price.

  This beautiful Mediterranean Mansion is Nice,Clean, near to shooping,restaurants and close to other Island easy finder area,maintenance crew very amable. All rooms are full with all necesities,beautiful decoration in the whole house,plama tv in all rooms, matresses are comfortable, big bath and jacuzzi private,big kitchen all appliances working properly,nice sea view around the house,pool nice and clean. Is very good for Family reunion,wth kids and teenagers plus older peoples,sea lovers and romantic gateway. We will comeback is recommend for a friends.

  The House was a great place to stay, It was well furnished and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were large. I didn't have any problems finding the house. It was close to the beach, restaurants and local shopping. Loved the view. It was great to go to the beach then barbeque and swim in the big pool as we watched the sunset. Had a great week

  Marco Island Meditarranean Mansion, is spectacular...all Rooms full loaded, towels, TV Flat screen, private enormous bath room and jacuzzi too. The house is big and fantastic for big families, near to the beach, the kitchen have a great view to the sea, with a private deck if you have boat or rent one....The Manager of the Mansion is so kind and if you need something just call, they are be there!!!.... I recommend you this Mansion in Marco Island, is near to restaurants, shopping, you can go to the other island, like Capri Island because is right away to Marco Island....Go to This Mansion and your experience is gonna be Fabulous!!!

  The house is large with ample bedrooms. The living room furnishings and bathroom hardware (shower faucets) for the most part need to be replaced. Some cabinetry and doors need to be fixed as they were off the hinges. The home has ample towels (bath and beach) but few other beach accessories. There was no gas for the grill so had to go to the hardware store. At other homes we stayed at these items were supplied. In comparison with other rentals, this house is fair to average with much interior work (painting, grouting, fixing tile, showers) needed. It is okay for large or multiple families who are looking for a place to sleep and a lower cost vacation.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

  A great time was had by all. House was beautiful and pool was clean and the beds were WONDERFUL! Manager was pleasant and helpful and responded asap when called. If you are a beach person you will need a car, but who cares when you have such a beautiful water view and lovely pool. Few recommendation's: Beach chairs, bikes, better beach umbrella, instuctions on how to operate surround music, full propane tank. You will definitely enjoy this home! Thank you for sharing your home with us.
