Your spacious, peaceful cottage provided a wonderfully convenient and relaxing place to hang out with our Bard daughter between her many hectic activities. Thanks!

Beautiful surroundings!! Reminded me of home so I was very pleased and welcomed. The cottage is cozy!! We enjoyed "The Queen" and Trivial Pursuit. The location is great for getting to Bard, and we loved the seclusion. Even through the hurricane it was beautiful! Thank you so much!

The location couldn't have been more convenient for us - given your proximity to Bard where we were doing research every day at CCS. We will definately recommend to others who might come up to Bard for the same purpose. Cottage was quiet, very clean and more than well equipped with everything we needed. Thank you! We will come back if we are in the area again. Warm regards

Just packing up to leave - my 83 year old Mother and I - after a trip to visit my Bard College daughter. Kane's Cottage was a great retreat from our comings and goings. Following a college kid is really exhausting! We saw deer on the drive and listened to rain on the forest floor. Spring is coming and we are glad we were here to see it. Til next time -

A HUGE THANK YOU for your hospitality and homey cottage!!! All the comforts of home - this sure beats a hotel room. Dane was able to run & play the whole time we were here. Jen felt very relaxed and so did I.

I really enjoyed coming back to the place where my son's journey at Bard College all began. Welcoming and helping has been the theme of the entire experience. I hope David and his family will avail themselves of your hospitality as he returns to Bard for Alumni Weekends in the future. Thanks again!

My wife & I stayed for 2 nights while attending a seminar at Omega. Due to the seminar there wasn't much time to enjoy all the cottage/property had to offer. Someday we would like to come back for a few days of just relaxing.

I just had the most relaxing 6 days that I can remember. Very quiet property that sits way back from the main road. Wish I could bring my dogs, Saw much wild life, and even when it rained, I still found this place the RIGHT place to be. It is much larger then the pictures seem to show, I was very surprised. They are always booked so this is the first time I was able to stay here. Linda (MIAMI) I will be back soon....

We were able to find a reason to come back... the Dutchess County Fair! We had a fantastic time and our trip was so much more special by being able to stay in Kane's Cottage again! Our friend, the deer, is still here. Working hard trying to think of any excuse to come back! Thank you for being here

Dear Zoie & Mark, Thank you for the wonderful gift of being here! From the warm welcome, to wonderful conversation, to the fragrant lilacs, to the birds, dragonflies, thunderstorms and nourishing silence, it was a time that means more to me than I can express. I came depleted and leave feeling refreshed, quiet and ready to face whatever is going to happen next. You have created a really perfect retreat here, and have inspired me to do the same somehow for myself. With gratitude

I needed a secluded place in which to hear my voice before anyone else would. I found it here. Plus a starry night or two. Thursday, I took a long walk through 'Poet's Park'. It was like a Hallmark card but much better. And I went to Bard College for the first time in 21 years. I found there some things I'd been remembering for all those years. Onward now, into '09 and beyond! Thanks

Dear Mark & Zoie - My family has enjoyed our stay here since Thursday. This morning I spent a little time on the patio with my two small children (3 years & 15 months) & the brisk air of early morning refreshed all of us; we live in the suburbs, and this setting is so wonderful for our children. We happened to catch the Dutchess County Fair yesterday & it inself was a gift as we didn't know about it until we got here. We love the coffee you left for the guests. You keep the place well stocked & you certainly have a gift of hospitality. May God Bless the work you do -

Attended 3 concerts as part of the Bard Music Festival, and what an exquisite pleasure it is to return to somewhere quiet, and green. I left the bedroom window open at night, as the sound of chirping crickets is exotic to a city dweller. Blue jays, alerted to my presence here, saw fit to harass in their raucous way. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Kane's Cottage was the perfect place for us to have stayed for our big 50th birthday party event, which was hosted at a friend's house nearby. We entered into a cozy cottage, well equipped with everything we needed and had a good night's sleep. We woke in the morning to the colorful patio garden and the lovely forest - we felt the energy!!! Thanks again!!

Mark & Zoie made our Thanksgiving visit and feast absolutely wonderful! Preparing a large meal in a 'strange' place can be tricky. A large table, extra chairs, gravy bowl, tablecloth, etc were all graciously supplied. The "kids" enjoyed all the sports channels. We had a blast! Thank you so much.

Thank you for a wonderful stay! We all have such busy lives - this get-away in your "wonderful cottage in the woods" gave us all a chance to stop and smell the roses and the leaves and the trees. If your cottage walls could talk, they would tell you wonderfully warm stories filled with great joy. But most of all, your cottage will remember the laughter of the fab five friends... Thanks! Priceless time!! Book us for next year!

I've often joked to my friends(when life gets crazy) that I need to find a cabin on top of a mountain. Although this is the valley - awesome silence, solitude, peace and beauty are in this cottage. Thank you both for sharing your hospitality with us.

This cottage was such a great find for us! With three little girls (3, 2 and 4 months), staying in a motel would have been tight. Staying here allowed us to spread out and be more comfortable! Having the full kitchen, washer/dryer and full bath was also an asset. Everything we needed was right here. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

We have had an idyllic fortnight here - somehow South London does not have quite the same allure and attraction of the Hudson Valley. Zoie & Mark have been ideal hosts and are new friends of Anna, myself and our nine month old Elodie. For our successors, we recommend riverside attractions from Hyde Park to Olana and take a train ride into the Catskills at Rothbury - but above all else, just sit here and be.

We knew we'd like it here when we drove up to the cottage and a wild turkey was here to greet us! We've spent 4 wonderful days here and hate to leave. The beauty and peacefulness of this area are so refreshing after a cold winter in blustery Chicago. Thank You!

Spring came out in beautiful yellow blossoms and Zoie greeted us with freshly picked daffodils arranged in a yellow enamel pot on the deck. We don't appreciate the Spring the same way in Southern California. Here, the swamp cabbages were shooting up, the trees were budding and the peepers sang to us at night. Lovely!

Kane's Cottage has been a great little home-away-from-home at the end of our American trip and we really enjoyed the peace & tranquility of the woods with their wonderful Autumn colors. The cottage has been a wonderful base for us as we visited friends, enjoyed the nearby historical sites (the view of the river and the mountains from the Vanderbuilt Mansion was simply magnificent!) and took the train into NYC (much nicer than driving). This is such a convenient location to explore the Hudson River Valley. The beds were comfy and warm - just what we needed at the end of five busy days. Thank you for making us feel very welcome. We are taking home some very special memories from our stay here.

For six nights we've enjoyed our little "Cottage in the Woods". We've enjoyed our quiet, ammenities (this place is an estate after our Manhatten hotel room!) and convenient location to all the major tourist sites. The Hudson River Valley region has been one of the most beautiful spots we've ever visited!

Bob & I came to a school reunion, yet in the short time we spent sitting silently on the porch, we were treated to deer, hummingbirds, toads and chipmunks - none of which we can see in the city. Our hosts thought of everything for our stay, and gratiously accepted a midnight emergency telephone call, even following up the next day to be sure all was okay. We appreciated the concern. We hope to be back in four years for the next reunion.

We were in the area visiting family and friends. Location was ideal. About 5 minutes to Red Hook and Rhinebeck centers, 2 minutes to Kingston bridge, yet cottage was in private wooded setting, roomy and good value. What really stood out was the warmth and helpfulness of hosts Zoie and Mark. We'd go back.
