The condo was in impeccable condition when we arrived with the keys on the counter just as the owner said they would be. We were visited by Norma (despite it being her day off!) and she was absolutely fantastic. Very helpful during our trip, especially on the last day when our rental car battery died right before we were going to the airport. Norma immediately called her friend who promptly came and jumpstarted our vehicle with some cables! It was beyond amazing. The island is a great time, too, (definitely recommend the Breakaway cruise), but the people at Sapphire Bay West were the best part. The private beach is fantastic, especially when the cruise ships come into town and hammer the other beaches. The owners were pleasant and the condo was really clean and modernized. 100x better than staying in a hotel. Would stay here again if returning to St. Thomas. It can't be beat for comfort and value. What are you waiting for? Book now!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: So glad you enjoyed your stay. Come again!

This condo has everything! Great location, clean, very well equipped, flat screen tv, comfortable beds, plenty of towels and a great on site manager, Norma. We spent 11 amazing days, mostly at the beach right outside the front door. It's got to be the best on the island, certainly the snorkelling is with turtles, sting rays and lots of fish, as well you can rent paddle boards and order food and drinks on the beach at very reasonable prices. The water is warm, crystal clear and perfect for swimming. Red Hook is also very close with lots of fun restaurants. Well worth a day trip to St John with or without a rental car. We feel lucky to have chosen this unit!Recommended for: People with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Glad it was great. Come again!

We had an awesome stay! I was looking for a place to stay for my husband and myself that was nice, roomy and not too expensive. This place was perfect. A lot of the other places were not kept up even though their webpage said they were. This place was kept very clean and was a lot more spacious than what we thought by looking at the pictures! My only complaints were that is was sometimes difficult to get ahold of people for cleaning or rides (which we would eventually get figured out) but I think that may have to do with "states time" versus "island time..." much more laid back and go with the flow there. Taxi's are expensive, so it's nice that they have the safari van/bus that only costs a couple bucks one way per person. Those shut down around 6pm/7pm so if you stay down in town longer into the night expect to pay at least $10-15 one way back (sometimes you can wheel n deal with the drivers). I am glad we didn't rent a car so we didn't have the stress of driving on the opposite side of the road or trying to figure out where we were going. Also, Norma set up a ride to and from the airport for us and does for others as well, which saves you a bunch of money on taxi rides as well as time wasted and hassle with bags taking the safari bus. Our driver Uteh (Im sure I spelled it incorrectly. Sorry) was amazing, making two stops for us to the grocery store and to a restaurant on the way to our condo from the airport. She was AMAZING! The beach was so beautiful! Most of the time it was not crowded at all. Only two days for a few hours did it get pretty crowded from some of the cruise ships, but that is unavoidable and happens at all the beaches I heard. Snorkeling was amazing and someone who had snorkeled at many other beaches there and other places said this beach (Sapphire Beach) was the best he had snorkeled. We saw huge sea turtles, huge sting rays, jelly fish, and people friendly iguanas and much more incredible wild life. Also, Norma lent us some snorkeling gear for FREE which saved us a good chunk of change! Wow! She was so accommodating and great! Be warned that groceries are very expensive since it is an island and food has to be shipped in, so the more food you can bring with you the better..we just had to bring extra money for food. Fun little shops and restaurants in Redhook and downtown. Redhook is only a few minute drive and downtown is between a 10-30 minute drive. "Big Bamboo" in Redhook was our favorite place to eat! Thanks for everythingRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Thank you for sharing your fantastic condo with us! We had a fabulous vacation with our nearly two-year-old daughter. She loved the beach toys you had here --thank you! We also added a few to your collection. Loved snorkeling off the beach -- great coral to the left side, just stayed away from the shallow parts. Saw a turtle, several rays (including sting and leopard! a first!) and of course many fish. Ate out nearly every night in Red Hook. Date night at Coco Blue was great. Norma's niece Euta babysat for us. Duffy's love Shack was fun -- great concept! Sadly had a terrible dinner and service at Amigo's. All other "casual" places were good. Day trip (just morning for us) to St. John was nice. We just shopped around and had breakfast at Jake's. Skipped out on taking the car -- $50 was a bit much given we didn't want to spend too much time sitting in the car. Also went to Coral World with our daughter -- she loved it! We got to meet Franco, a huge sea lion. I think that was the highlight of her trip. Ha Ha. Definitely worth the $12/person. Well this is long enough! We had a fantastic time on your beautiful beach and look forward to making many more trips here. Passing your condo info to my parents! Thanks again.Did you find this review helpful? Snorkeling is good -- turtles, barracudas and colorful fish. Boys enjoyed burgers on the beach from Banana Cabana. After 4:00, the beach is yours. Sunset is beautiful. Dinner at FishTails is EXCELLENT. And the condo is so welcoming and comfortable. Special thanks to Norma who is SO helpful.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This trip was a birthday present for my wonderful wife so I wanted it to be special; and it was. Just spent a week in D 5, it was great. The apartment is very nice and well kept. The view of the beach and the flowers in front of the unit are spectacular; really sets the tone and lets you know you are on an island paradise. The beach was really nice and the weather could not have been better. Nancy goes way out of her way to make sure everything is perfect for your stay, and the on-site manager Norma takes care of the rest. I highly recommend this unit, and ask for Gordon if you want to see the island. He will take really good care of you. Almost forgot, my wife had a wonderful birthday. I just don’t know how I can top this trip next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Glad to hear it was such a great trip for you. Come back next year! We'll make it even better. Thank you for your kind words.

This is a wonderful condo unit. Very comfortable and very clean and updated. We especially enjoyed sitting in the large chairs looking out the windows facing the ocean. Comfy bed - didn't get a backache as usual with a new bed. Norma's housekeepers kept the unit nice and clean during our stay. The owners were great to work with. This is a nice quiet complex. No complaints! We will hopefully rent this unit again someday.Owner response: We too love the view from the large chairs, which we like to call our "thrones." Thanks for your comments.

My family has been vacationing at the Sapphire Beach condos since the mid 1970's, and this was our first trip back in almost 6 years. This condo was clean, well-furnished (including washer/dryer), and well-maintained. It has a separate bedroom, Murphy beds (2) in the living room, and two full baths. We had excellent service from Norma, the manager. There are many advantages to staying at Sapphire--there are two nearby food markets in Red Hook (just a few minutes away), so you don't have to eat out all the time. The beach is large, clean, and a very short walk from the condos, with plenty of lounge chairs for condo owners and guests. We were also able to use a wifi connection (there are per-day and per-week rates) through a local carrier for our laptop. There are a couple of tennis courts on the property. From Sapphire Marina, you can access many services--jet skis, excursions (highly recommend the Breakaway excursion to the British VI), etc., and the Red Hook ferry to St. John is only a few minutes' drive away. I also used the fitness center/spa at the Sugar Bay resort just up the road (again, only a few minutes' drive in the other direction) for a reasonable weekly rate ($40). Highly recommend this condo; my family had a wonderful time.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: So glad you had a wonderful stay in our condo.

We stayed 8 days in Marc and Nancy's condo and had a great stay. Their condo is very nicely furnished and very up to date. It is about 150 steps to the beach, so you can be sitting on a beach chair that Diane will set up for you in a couple minutes. The beach is gorgeous with incredible snorkeling. I would highly recommend this condo if you want a nice place to stay on the beach at a very fair price. Thank you very much Marc and Nancy.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: We first visited St. Thomas on our honeymoon. When our daughter chose a destination wedding in St. Thomas 33 years later in 2002, we knew we had to introduce others to the beautiful island and to Crystal Cove. Our guests love many of the same things we do: the sun, beautiful beach, friendly locals and relaxed lifestyle.
Why the Owner Chose Crystal Cove at Sapphire Bay West:
When we returned to St. Thomas after many years, our trip reinforced how much we loved the island and its people, and after looking at almost every complex on St. Thomas, we chose to buy at Crystal Cove first and foremost because of beautiful Sapphire Beach. Our guests like the low-key atmosphere and casual living. For a year, we worked to completely gut the interior, remodel and refurnish. We make trips several times a year to make sure everything is as it should be, in good condition and working order, and we regularly replace any items that have seen better days. The living room furnishings are newly replaced or upholstered every few years.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our guests, many who return year after year--take a look at our guest book--feel right at home in our place whether staying for a week or an extended period of time. They tell us they enjoy all that the island offers, entertainment, shopping, day trips to other islands, water sports, dining in and dining out at the many different restaurants on the island or just lazing on the beach enjoying a good book. What can be better than waking up to a beautiful beach, beautiful weather and beautiful experiences.
