This is NOT an apartment or house on the same property as another. It is a private residence on .75 acres of paradise and comes with golf cart transportation. "Boat qualified" guests may rent our 19 foot Mako.
Renovations on our house in paradise were completed in 2007. Everything in the house is updated. The Island and the view remain original, unspoiled, and amazing. The house sits on the crest of Water Island so there is plenty of breeze. The house faces St. Thomas providing a sparkling night-time view while still having a view to open water to the left of the deck. The house is a spacious 1600 square feet. The deck is a very large (and private) 750 square feet. The setting is very tropical. On the deck you will have the view and the breeze all to yourself.
Slow Mocean has 2 large bedrooms. The pink master bedroom (on the water side) has a queen bed, sitting area, closet, dresser, private access to a bathroom, and private access to the deck.
The yellow second bedroom has bunkbeds with a double bed on the bottom and a single on the top. It works well for children or a second couple. It has two dressers and access to the bathroom. It also has a private door to the outside. Just outside this door is an outside shower so you can rinse off before entering the house.
There is a 3rd "sleeping area" (separate from the living room) with a double futon if needed.
Guests enter the house into the yellow living area. This area is large with plenty of sitting space. The TV is in this room. There are wonderful views from thru the sliding glass doors. The sliding doors lead to the deck.
The blue kitchen ajoins an inside dining area and another sitting area. The kitchen is fully outfitted with dishwasher, disposal, UV water filter, microwave, toaster oven--everything you need. The dining are opens to the deck. The sitting area has a futon couch. The futon converts to a double bed for extra sleeping space. There is a second full bath off the blue sitting area. The telephone is in this blue sitting area as is the wireless internet equipment.
The huge deck runs the entire length of the water side of the house. It has an outside dining area, sunning area, shade to sit in, and a place to hang wet clothing. The view is wonderful day and night.
There is a washer /dryer. There are also noodles and other water flotations available in the storage area.
Water Island is the perfect place to experience the Caribbean away from the crowds. However, St. Thomas is only a five minute ferry ride away so you can shop or visit restaurants if you want. The ferry docks at Crown Bay Marina on St. Thomas, which has a dive shop, internet office, restaurant, and grocery store. We provide a fully furnished house and a golf cart for transportation. We will provide you information you need about the island so you can fully enjoy your stay in paradise.
Beautiful beaches are just a short fun golf cart ride away. Much of Water Island is dedicated green space. There are beautiful natural island palm forests. Driving around the island allows you to see many great vistas, interesting animals and plants. Snorkling off Honeymoon beach is good. Just walk right in! Honeymoon Beach provides covered shady sitting areas with chairs, and privacy. There are other beaches on the island that are good exploring, shell hunting beaches. We will provide a map of the best places to swim, snorkle, shell hunt or be alone.
Honeymoon Beach is the large sandy public beach. It is a beautiful beach. Although never crowded there is usually something going on at Honeymoon Beach. Heidi cooks lunch during the week and dinner on Saturday nights. Often a small boat of cruise ship guests will appear for a couple of hours for a day excursion. Joe's Beach Bar makes frozen drinks and offers other refreshments on the beach. There is a swimming platform and sunny and shady places to sit.
My property manager will meet you at the WI ferry dock, take you to the house and be available for questions or issue that might arise during your stay.

- There are scheduled "events" on Water Island. Heidi cooks dinner on Honeymoon Beach on Saturday nights. It is lovely. Monday nights a "drive in" movie is shown on a screen tied between two palms on Honeymoon Beach. It is wonderful. Just pull up in your golf car. Heidi also cooks lunch on Honeymoon Beach most days. Joe's bar is in the far corner of Honeymoon Beach where you can order frozen drinks and others cool drinks.

Prorated for addtional nights. I do not count small children (under 3).
1/2 deposit is due at reservation. Remaining rent is due 2 weeks in advance
of arrival along with a $250 refundable security deposit. Check out is 10:30am.

Why the Owner Chose USVI - Water Island
We purchased Slow Mocean in 2005. We visited many other islands on vacation over the years. We love the USVI because the islands are mountainous. It is amazing to see the islands rise out of the blue sea. Beaches are interesting--not just flat and sandy. The highest elevation of Water Island is about 300ft. The makes for great views, and great breezes. We liked Water Island because it is not croweded, is safe, has no traffic and has beautiful beaches.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Slow Mocean is well located on Water Island. It has a private location, large lot and great view. The layout is very flexible for family or groups. The deck is private for sunning, reading and dining. We furnished the house to suit us--so I think it will suit most visitors. It is not just a rental property it is our second home.

The house was amazing. It is so bright and cheery. The kids loved watching the cruise ships at night from the deck. The lights were so sparkly. It rained only one night. I would not change a thing. I did not expect the house to be so private. You have made it feel very much like a home--not a rental. Lovely house and island.
