Excellent Vacation Rental for rest & Relaxation

I would highly recommend this vacation rental for people who are looking for beautiful surroundings, rest and relaxation. The location was gorgeous as it overlooked Great Cruz Bay, St Thomas and the beautiful Caribbean Ocean. The rental was clean and secure and provided us with all the amenities we needed. The owner was wonderful, very accommodating and made us feel like part of the family. We had a great time and definitely would go back to St. John's and stay at this vacation rental again.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+.

Views are awesome at the very top of Sunset Ridge though the location is a good 15 minutes by car and a good 30 minute walk from Cruz Bay. The road back up is very steep along Jacob's Ladder so it's difficult to go back up. If you run, it's a very challenging terrain. Bed is comfortable, views are truly awesome. Apartment needs to be updated, dust removed from frames, silk flowers, etc and pots and pans replaced (mish mash of leftover kitchen ware) as well. Jacqueline is wonderful, very helpful and a joy. Bring your own shampoo, etc.though there are hair dryers. I don't believe I would recommend the property to a friend unless it were updated a bit. Also the distance is a bit of a nuisance as you need to plan your day so that you don't have to come up and down the mountain too many times. The place is very quiet though. Very relaxing. Best sailing with Rick Smith, best restaurants were Asolare, Tapas, Ocean Grill. There are many great restaurants. Great scuba diving too with Cruz Bay. National Park Service hike is the best down to Reef Bay. Reserve before you go to St. John. Have a great time in St. John, it's an awesome place with blue turquoise waters.

We had stayed on St. Thomas earlier but we both agree that St. Johns is our favorite of the two islands! We greatly enjoyed our time at the villa and it looks just like the pictures. The private deck was our favorite spot of the home and it is a great place for morning breakfast/evening sunsets. At night you can sometimes even hear music from the Westin Resort far below. It is very peaceful. And the owner, Jacqueline, is wonderful! She met us at the ferry in Cruz Bay and drove us personally to her home. The drive up is quite an adventure but you will get used to it by the end of your stay! She also lives on site in the main house and was very welcoming. She is a great resource and will make sure you have everything you need. I highly recommend any of her rentals! One note: I recommend renting a 4 wheel drive car for your time on the island. It will give you the freedom to explore the island and great beaches - our favorite was Cinammon Beach. And a short drive down into town gives you plenty of options for restaurants and shopping. There is also a great grocery store near the villa that will have everything you need in case you want to make use of the grill and kitchen in the unit. Overall, our experience was wonderful and we would definitely consider staying here again in the future

Island rentals captured our hearts 12 years ago, and we’ve been coming back every year!  Each day starts with cup of coffee while soaking up the amazing views of the Caribbean.  From there on, well...…it’s whatever we feel like doing.  Sometimes it’s venturing out and experiencing the many things St. John has to offer, and other times it’s just relaxing and indulging in a good book.  This is our reward for all the hard work the rest of the year. Thanks Jacqueline for understanding what “getting away” is all about and making sure we enjoy our time on island! Your island friend
