Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
We purchased the property because is it located in a coveted historic area between two lakes and is close to many beaches, parks, festivals, and city summer and winter events. It is centrally located to favorite spots near Muskegon - Grand Haven, Holland, and other beach towns.
Why the Owner Chose Muskegon
The Bluffton "Actors' Colony" area is on a peninsula between Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake within the City of Muskegon. It's only 0.3 mile (0.5 km) to the sugar sand beach of Pere Marquette Park - on the "Clean Beach Award" list yearly - and the Muskegon Channel, south side. It's centrally located to favorite spots to visit outside of Muskegon. The nighborhood is friendly, and the houses have been owned by the same families going back generations. This is as close as you get to having an "old-fashioned" beach vacation - no condos, not a resort.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage (House)
Charming decor, comfortable furnishings, high quality dishes and cutlery, high-speed internet, old-fashioned, neighborly open front porch, and an in-town owner who personally manages everything.

This is an adorable cottage. My family of 6 were very confortable. We rode to the beach and hung out inside during the rainy days and we weren't cramped for space. Top 3 Things: Location & good rates, amenities, and privacy. Don't miss: Sunset on Lake Michigan.

Quaint and homey feeling, did not not feel like we were in someone else's home. Overall cottage was great and I will be back.

Stayed for dance competition. Great place to bring babies & toddlers who can't do most of the "big kid" things. Best for beach goers.

Very well equipped, quaint & cozy. We had everything we needed here.

We came for a quick "pre-school" getaway. I can't tell you how delighted we were with the accommodations - clean, warm, inviting, with every detail attended to. The scrapbook of things to do, maps, & recommendations was a wonderful "extra touch" that made our stay even easier. THANK YOU!"

Unfortunately the weather was terrible. It rained every day & we saw very little sun. Thankfully we had your cheerful cottage! The bright, sunny colors helped keep us happy. Thanks for all the wonderful amenities. You've done a great job - above & beyond the call of duty! P. S. We had beautiful weather Saturday! Yay!

Beautiful area! Hidden gem of cottage homes. We logged in over 20 miles on the different bike paths with our 4,5,6 year old kids over the week. Everything was super clean.

We stayed here in Muskegon for our vacation. It was only a couple hours from our home in Indiana, but far enough to be a getaway for my husband, 20 month old daughter, & me. We enjoyed going to the Lake Michigan beach, shopping at the Lakes Mall, eating at the local Muskegon restaurants, & relaxing at the cottage. This was a nice home away from home. Everything was neat & tidy. Thank you so much.
