At the Heart of Florence with Private Garden and Parking

This charming and unique apartment sets on the ground floor of a historic building right at Florence's Historic Center. It is strategically situated just 5 minutes walk from Piazza Santa Croce, and 15 minutes walk from Piazza Signoria and The Ufizzi.
This accommodation has been restored and converted into an adorable apartment, very well furnished and with modern facilities. The highlight is its private, sunny garden with dining table for 'al fresco' meals. Private parking is also available.
There is a cosy living room , dining room at a veranda facing the garden, well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook a delicious Tuscan meal, a master double room with fresco ceiling with in suite bathroom, a double bedroom with 2 single beds, a studio with 2 single beds plus one bathroom with shower. All bathrooms are made with Carrara marble.
The market of Santo Ambrogio , the most characteristic food market in Florence is only at 5 minutes walk. It is a nice way to wake up in the morning, have a lazy breakfast with a true cappuccino or espresso and take a tour around fresh and exquisite season vegetables and fruits or local cheese just smelling the flower's newest aromas.
All around, there are many restaurants and bars where local Fiorentini go for a quick coffee, lunch and dinner meals, with a vast selection of places running from wine bars, wooden oven pizzerias, local trattorie and famous restaurants.
From there, you can also rent bikes to visit Florence everywhere you want to go!
The famous FLEA MARKET of Florence is located in Piazza dei Ciompi at only 10 minutes walk from the apartment. It opens every day from 9 to 19.30. If you're lucky enough to go there on the last Sunday of every month, the stalls extend into the surrounding streets. Here you can find furniture and objects from the past, prints, coins and jewellery. It's worth a trip if only to get insights on Italy's past through the artifacts displayed in these cluttered stalls.
Cooking classes and/or Cooking services are also available on request.
Fun cooking classes on Tuscan Recipes, good tips and the pleasure to have learned and cooked your own Tuscan meal!
Or if you just want to relax and enjoy a wonderful typical meal at home, just choose from different menus and let me know.

I live close by and available 24/7.

A Gem! This apartment is every bit as lovely as its photographs portray! Totally remodeled by an architect, it is spacious, sunny, comfortable and immaculate. It retains the original wooden floor in the main bedroom, but elsewhere the floors are beautifully laid marble and, as one might hope in Florence, one bedroom even has a painted ceiling. The ceilings must be 14 feet high and the marble bathrooms are lovely. We especially enjoyed the sunroom and the modern, well equipped kitchen. We are a couple in our 70's and, while we wanted to enjoy living in Florence for a week, we were initially concerned that 9 Ghibellina might be a bit too far from all we wanted to see. But its location was perfect. We could walk to the Uffizi or Ponte Vecchio in 20 minutes and to the Duomoa or Accademia in 25. And following a late night concert or dinner, we could even felt comfortable walking home late at night because the streets are brilliantly lighted. Christina was a wonderful hostess who lives only 10 minutes away, met our taxi when we arrived, left us lots of useful phone numbers and information, and encouraged us to call if we needed anything.Did you find this review helpful? My trip to Florence in April 2012 was one of the best ever. Christina was very hospitable to myself and family. The apartment was just like it was described and pictured. It is located perfectly. It is no more than a 10-20 minute walk to everything. And the market (5 min walk away) was the absolute best. We went there every morning and purchased fresh foods, jewelry, goods, and clothing!! I can't wait to go back. The italians are very delightful and love children. Thanks Christina for helping make this trip so memorable. You are the best! We are coming back to see you May 2013!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you very much for your detailed review. I hope it will help future guests !

My family came to visit and I was looking for, most importantly, an apartment near my own and the centro. Christina was so wonderful and accommodating to our last minute request, and my parents were extremely pleased with the apartment. I have been living in Florence for a few months, and this apartment had more amenities than most, the internet actually worked! The location is wonderful, which allows for easy access to all the main sights, and very close to a few wonderful restaurants up on Via de' Macci. The apartment was better than imagined, very clean and roomy. I have three teenaged sisters, and they were very pleased with the apartment, as they were able to escape to their own room, but it would be perfect for young children too, as there is a walled garden. I was even able to meet the housekeeper, Celia, who is equally wonderful! My parents said that if they were to return, they would definitely want to stay here again, and will be recommending the apartment friends traveling abroad.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We had 6 adults, and were very comfortable. The 3rd bedroom is a bit small, but 2 twin beds worked out fine for us. The baths were great, as was the kitchen. We had wonderful weather, and spent most free time outside, in the walled, garden area. We could walk to all the sights, but even with a full week, we couldn't see it all. Incredible food wherever we went. Loved the market in the morning for cappucino & sweets, as well as for fresh cheeses/veggies/meats. Trattorias and Gelato everywhere. Florence was a wonderful experience, and staying here made it that much better. Christina, you were a wonderful host...thank you! Judi, Patte and CompanyDid you find this review helpful? We loved this apartment. It was beautifully designed and very comfortable. It was very spacious, and easily accommodated our crew of 3 adults, 1 toddler and a baby. In a great part of Florence - close to Santa Croce and the local market. Walking distance to all the main sites (past some great leather shops on the way!), but far enough away from the hotels and tourist areas that we could enjoy a sense of the real Florence. We were greeted by the owner on our arrival (even though we were 3 hours late!). She was very helpful and even provided a bus map, and a cot. She was also readily available if we needed help during our stay. I highly recommend this aparment and thank the owner for her assistance in making our stay so enjoyable.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We spent a week in Florence, using this apt as our base. It is truly spacious, light and very well kept. It is conveniently located, as described, with a market nearby and many restaurants within easy walking distance. By Florence standards, this is a bargin at 1350 Euro. Chritina, the owner, is a delightful woman who was very helpful in arranging our visit. I would definitely stay here again when we return to Florence.Did you find this review helpful? This apartment was a fantastic find! My mother, mother-in-law, and husband stayed there for 10 days in November. Christina was very courteous and helpful, even adjusting her schedule when our arrival flight was delayed. She was more than accommodating. It is located right across the street from a wonderful restaurant that is higher price but higher quality and filled with locals! Did you know that it is also on the same street as Michelangelo's house, which is now a museum? Take a look, as you'll see some familiar paintings (the Ecce Homo and the Queen Elizabeth I portrait), even if it isn't filled with masterpieces that everyone goes to the Uffizi to see. Gay patrons will be happy to note that it is a very short walk to the best gay bar in the city: Y.A.G. Straight patrons will be happy to note that there is nightlife in the neighborhood. In both cases, the apartment is far from the loud noise of pedestrians at night, but close enough to imbibe with the locals. Electricity and heat is high if you like it warm in the house and bathe every day, like most Americans. We used a lot so we spent a lot. It was not a problem for us, as we were mindful that the dollar is weak and energy costs are high. The third bedroom does NOT have a dresser and is private so long as the curtains are drawn. My mother-in-law didn't seem to mind, and Christina came up with a great solution to use part of the linen closet next to the room for her things. We're definitely staying here again when we come to Florence!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
