Only eight miles from Whiteface Mountain, the only Olympic downhill ski center and also rated #1 in the East by Ski Magazine, 20 minutes from the Mackenzie ski jumping and free style venues and the Verizon Sport Complex including the cross country skiing center, world famous bob sled, luge, skeleton track and biathlon course, and 25 minutes from downtown Lake Placid.
Au Sable Acres has a private wooded community park with a lake,beach, playing fields, barbecue, picnic tables,basketball and tennis courts. Au Sable Acres also offers hiking, snowshoe, and cross country skiing trails. Trail maps are available at "Kookaburra."
Private access to the West Branch of the Au Sable River for its world famous fly fishing, as well as kayaking, canoeing, and tubing. For golfers, there are five highly rated and challenging courses within 30 to 60 minutes of "Kookaburra."
