We had a lovely bachelorette party weekend at this cabin and it fit our needs perfectly. The outdoor fireplace on the screen porch was fantastic, as it kept us warm but also protected against bugs (and other critters!). It is a cozy cabin but was spacious enough for our group of 11 and had plenty of private outdoor space. It was clean and well appointed. It was also nice that there wasn't a large cleaning fee like some VRBO cabin owners charge. We didn't see any interesting animals but we hope to when we visit again, hopefully soon! :)

Our group stayed here last year for Memorial weekend and we loved it. It was a beautiful home (the pictures don't do it justice) on a great property and it was perfect swimming for the kids. The paddleboat was a hit with the older kids and it was nice knowing that it was just us on the lake. It would have been a plus if there were some fish in the lake just for the kids but there were many other things to do. The lake wasn't far from the house at all and the deck looks out right to the lake and shoreline. We had a lot of fun and were able to let the kids just run around. There is no cell phone service around the home and providing the phone card for us to make calls was very nice. For new visitors, don't forget to use the large jetted tub downstairs! It's gorgeous and the funny thing is that we didn't discover it until our last night, so it was like finding treasure. Thanks so much for the ease of the reservation to the great home. If we come out to the area again, we would definitely be staying at your home.

Awesome Retreat Venue!

As the winter chill dives deeper and deeper into my bones, I remember the fun of summer past. We are a group of old Girl Scout leaders (no not old -- former GS leaders) who love to leave behind the worries of our respective families and join together for some "us" time. This past July (2010) we stayed here for the first time. It certainly is a little piece of Northwoods Paradise! We were entertained by the doe and fawn watching us from the other side of the lake; caught glimpses of a black bear; listened to the calls of a visiting loon one day; and were amazed at the star-filled sky at night. We never missed a day of floating on air mattresses on our own private lake but don't think we missed a store in Hayward either. Besides all the wonderful shops in town, we enjoyed some taste-testing at the local winery and micro-brewery, hand-packed cones from the ice cream shop, and indulged ourselves with MANY trips to the old-fashioned candy stores. The Pow-Wow and Lumberjack Days were a fantastic glimpses into other cultures. Quite the experiences! The owners were helpful with any questions we had and offered many ideas for area attractions. The home is immaculately clean and very well maintained. Spacious. Beautifully decorated. With 2 of the bedrooms, kitchen/dining, bathroom, small deck overlooking the lake, and living room on the main level, it is well suited for those who have difficulty with stairs. There are a couple steps up to the front door; one down to the porch. The house is not right on the water, but it is a gentle (grassy) slope down to the beach. The lake is small. Our kayakers were wishing for a little more water and those who fish were wishing for game fish, but the Chippewa Flowage is just a short drive away. The porch was a wonderful gathering space, especially at night when we could enjoy the outside breezes and night sounds without the annoying misquitos buzzing and biting! I think we were home maybe 24 hours before we were sending our request for next summer! And now that the snowflakes are falling yet again, we think ahead to next July and this wonderful little piece of Northwoods Paradise! Would we recommended this property? Absolutely! (just not our week in July!) :)

Just returned from our girl get away for Stone Lake Cranberry fest...fun was had by all! Great place to relax and be with the amazing fall colors! Plenty of room, comfy beds and large kitchen- dining to hang out! The screen porch worked great to cozy up to fire...thanks Emily and family........:)

I loved this vacation home! We have been renting accomadations for snowmobiling for 20 years, and this place has everything! Great trail access, a dishwasher, a bubble tub, a great kitchen/dining area for cooking and socializing, and a place for the kids. We are already planning our trips for 2010 to include a stay here.

My family and I stayed here for two weeks and LOVED it! The private setting and beautiful setting were a perfect getaway from the heat. The house was spacious for all 10 of us, and the children loved the sand area next to the lake, as well as swimming and exploring the area. We also had fun in Hayward. I wish we'd been able to stay all summer!

We just spent 2 wondeful weeks there...saw lots of bears, beavers, otters, turtles, deer, heard coyotes at night. The house is the nicest summer rental we have ever stayed in, very well kept. The only thing that I missed was some non-stick cookware in the kitchen. Would love to come back some day.

I have stayed at this lovely home on two occassions. The home is well appointed and clean. I was particularly impressed with the HUGE whirpool tub in the lower level of the home. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. My first trip was a family vacation. My kids enjoyed exploring the woods and searching for various wildlife. My second trip was a "girls only" trip. I liked visiting the shops downtown. Most of all, though I enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the private lake. Thank you to the owner of this property for giving me some wonderful vacation memories.
