Lamm's End Cottage is roomy, attractive, comfortable, very well equipped, very clean and in an ideal location for families. We had all the comforts of home only a couple of short blocks from the beach. The playground and tennis court behind the house (but not too close--it was very quiet) are well maintained and we enjoyed them both. We all got to use the hammock and the front porch was a great place to have our morning coffee. The beach was practically deserted except on the weekends, and the sights, tastes and shopping of Charleston are very close by. We liked the local restaurants: the Lost Dog Cafe' has great breakfast and lunch and every coffee and tea beverage you could think of, The Grill has nice soup and salads, and Taco Boy has tasty and innovative food (best guacamole we've had outside of Mexico) although the music indoors was too loud. Be sure to take a boat cruise. We had an excellent marsh/shelling/history ride with a local guide. All in all, it was a fabulous and relaxing vacation, and we plan to do it again.

We have stayed in two of the Lamm's properties several times, and every time it's been a great experience. This last time was no exception. This cottage has lovely details--granite counters, slate floors in the bathrooms, great chairs and a hammock on the porch--too many great things to mention here. And everything is provided. There are beach towels, chairs, and even coolers for your use. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything from mixing bowls to measuring cups. The best thing about this and the Lamms's other properties is that they are meticulously maintained and the owner is scrupulous in her attention to detail. She responds promptly to any questions or request. And this cottage is lovely. It's an old Folly house that's been lovingly restored and updated, and it's a great space to spend time in. Relax on the front porch or grill out and eat on the back deck. It's a quick two and quarter blocks to the beach walkover (and the big cooler has wheels). We go to Folly twice a year, and I can recommend these properties without reservation. The only difficulty we've ever had is getting a spot--people know a good thing when they see it and you have to book early!

We lucked out finding this place! Had only 4 days to spend on Folly Beach and Lamms End Cottage just happened to have an opening. We had 2 little boys with us and the playground across the street was a favorite spot for them. Their parents used the tennis courts. And I hit the beach, so close you can hear the waves at night. The kitchen was well supplied with anything we needed. But my favorite spot was the hammack on the front porch. After a day of sightseeing, you'd find me there! Our daughter lives 2 miles away, so we will be back.

My husband, Jack Russell and I enjoyed every moment at Lamm's End Cottage. We were looking for a peaceful few days, a place to read, walk, cook together, nap and we found it. Comfortable house with all the amenities, a block from the beach and a short walk from our old favorite, Taco Boy! On this trip we also discovered Lost Dog cafe and the crepe stand! We have rented personal homes before and been so disappointed when we arrived but Beth's cottage is everything it looks like in the website, and more! You won't be disappointed. . . . we hope to return for a cosy winter getaway too! Thanks Beth . . . we feel like we have our own personal beach house! - Karen , Nashville, TN

We just wanted to say thank you for fitting us in at the last minute, and sharing your ever so beautiful charming cottage with us! We've been to Folly half a dozen times now, and no where have we felt as at home and well-quartered as at your very lovely home. We hope to return in the not too distant future!
Owner response:Thanks for the kind remarks, Jim. Our family finds those spontaneous get-a-ways the most fun! Our team always works hard to accommodate our guests even if it's at the last minute. We'd love to have your family stay with us again. Beth

My family and I have stayed at Lamm's End three times and always enjoyed it. This time we had fewer family members coming so I was looking for a smaller place and Lamm's End Cottage was perfect. Having made the mistake of renting (on VRBO) a house that was managed by a company rather than the owner, I found out how different that can be, Beth's homes are well appointed and when there has been an occasional "blip", Beth was extremely responsive in resolving the issue. My toddler grandchildren loved the Pirate's Cove park behind the house. Our only "complaint" was that the couch is not very comfortable to sit on. Kind of surprising given how Beth's homes are really focused on creature comforts. We fought over the two upholstered chairs in the living room for more comfy seating. Loved the hammock - took a much needed nap their one day. We'll be back.

Great location - close to beach and the shops and restaurants of Folly Beach. Cottage was clean and comfortable. Highlights include the hammock and rocking chairs on the front porch and the huge deck around the back and side of the house. The fenced yard provided plenty of room for our dogs to roam. Everything you could possibly need is provided, including in the kitchen. Beth was a pleasure to deal with. You really can't go wrong with Lamm's End Cottage.

I stayed in Lamms End for one month with my brother and father in February 2011. I have travelled extensively througout Europe, Canada and the United States. This was by far the best accomodations I have ever stayed at. I had no problem preparing meals in the kitchen, relaxing on the sun deck, and lazily reading a book in bed. Beth has made this vacation home as comfortable as the one I live in. The people in the area are very eclectic and it is easy to spend time in one of the bars listening to a live group in the evening. I would highly recommend this vacation home!!! Oh ya, the tennis court is right across the street and there is a kids playing ground there as well.
Owner response:Shelley, Greg's help with the grill was so appreciated... and your tea was a delight! Best of all I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know your wonderful family while I was getting Lamm's End Bungalow ready for service. Since your visit, we have taken many reservations from our friends north of the border. Folly is on the radar in Canada! Take care and best wishes, Beth

I could not believe our good fortune when we arrived and found Lamm's end cottage. It isn't easy trying to visualize how nice your rental will be in South Carolina when your booking it from Canada, and on the internet. Also I did not really realize how super everything was untill we started to get around Folly Beach. Our spot was so central, so close to everything that we could walk to town or one of the great bars and not worry about driving . The tennis court was across the street so I could look out the kit. window to see if the court was available, the beach was 1 block away. The Southern hospitality is not a myth and I was greeted and pampered every where I went , the owner of the Surf Bar dove over the bar to shake my hand first time I entered his establishment. The style, layout and furnishings make the Lamm's end cottage a welcome retreat at the end of a day and everything we could possibly want for cooking ,cleaning or just relaxing was so generously supplied. We were very impressed and would love to return soon and do it allover again. Thank you Beth Lamm for sharing your home and its beautiful energy with us.

This is a rental that really lives up to its claim for attention to detail. Nicely renovated and decorated with very comfortable beds, beautiful linens and comforters. Lots of living space inside and out with decking that offers options for sun or shade, and plenty of comfortable furniture. The kitchen is a delight with everything you need to cook up a storm. A short two block walk to the beach. As we were staying over the Christmas Holiday we did not make use of the beach chairs, towels and toys, but it's all there. We very much appreciated that this rental is pet friendly with lots of outside space for our furry friends that we never leave behind . Can't wait to come back during the summer season. You can't go wrong with this rental, it has it all!!
Owner response:Thanks, Pat for taking the time to share your experience at Lamm's End Cottage. When I started this business nearly 8 years ago, they used to roll up the sidewalks in the winter season. Folly has now become a year round destination. Several new restaurants opened this winter and even in the down economy Folly is thriving. Our family loves the island and it's wonderful to see so many people enjoying our piece of paradise!

Wonderful Location with walking access to beach, but privacy when you need it. Plenty of room for 4 adults (husband/wife, in-laws), 2 children, and one pet without getting in each others way. Everything you need is here and a easy to use entrance ramp when you are dragging home after all day excursions on the beach and touring Charleston. The decks on 3 sides of the house make being outside enjoyable while listening to the waves on the beach. I would recommend this cottage who wants to enjoy their self without the crowding and noise of hotels. Great place to go for a needed rest from work and the city.

My husband and I enjoyed Lamm's End Cottage for a few days in November. The house was comfortable, very clean, convenient to the beach and to downtown. The master bed was comfortable and having all the linens, hand soap, toilet paper, beach towels was great. Nice deck and fenced back yard. Beth answered my inquery quickly and I would definately stay there again.

We just returned from a wonderful week at Lamm's End Cottage and enjoyed every minute. The cottage is just as it appears in the pictures, cute as a button. It's very nicely appointed with everything you need--and the wifi makes it easy to keep up with the poor folks back home who aren't lucky enough to be at the beach! It's a short and easy walk to the beach, as well as into "town" for dinner at one of the good restaurants there. The cottage is just the right size for us--just 2 people, altho 6 could stay there comfortably. Beth was very easy to work with--our trip was very last minute, and she handled the details quickly and efficiently. She's obviously a pro at this and wants every trip to be a good experience. Ours was perfect from beginning to end, and I'd highly recommend Folly Beach and Lamm's End Cottage.
Owner response:Folly Beach is a wonderful place to visit anytime of the year. Our family's favorite time is in the off season when the summer crowds are gone, the sun is less intense and the beach uncrowded. Many of our off-season guests just check the weather report.. look at our on-line calender... and give us a ring. Our computerized keyless entry system allows instant access so please don't hesitate to give us a call at the last minute. We are always ready. Thanks Cate for the kind remarks and leaving Lamm's End Cottage in fantastic condition.

My wife, 2 year old daughter and I had the place to ourselves and it was perfect. The beach is very close to the house and it's beautiful. The backyard, the park across the street, walks to the pier, and easy trips to Charleston for the aquarium and children's museum kept our daughter well-entertained when we weren't on the beach. The front porch is a fantastic place to while away the evening and always seems to have a breeze. What I did not expect were the many beautiful rugs throughout the house - they give it a very cozy feeling. Now we just have to figure out when we can come back.
Owner response:Thanks, Walter. We'd love to have you stay at Lamm's End Cottage again. Beth

Beth, Thanks again for our wonderful stay at Lamm's End cottage. The images on the web page most certainly don't do it justice. The home is just beautiful. When we first walked in my wife turned to me and asked, " Are you sure this is the right place?" For us, the bar has now been raised. Everywhere we have stayed or will stay will now be compared to your cottage. Well done. We are already checking the calendar for another visit if you will have us. We were also surprised how close to the beach we were. The blocks are very short with less than a two minute walk. We could also hear the waves from the front porch. Truely a relaxing home away from home. Thanks again!Charlie, Darlene, Michael, and Gidget(chihuahua).

We thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to the Charleston area and found Lamm's End Cottage to be ideally located at Folly Beach - a short walk to the beach, not too far to downtown (though we wished there were sidewalks!) and in a quiet residential area. We loved the proximity to the playground and tennis courts as well as the spacious backyard. We really appreciated Beth's thorough communication; when we had an issue at the house, she was responsive and gracious. We enjoyed the beach itself, the fishing pier and most of the recommended restaurants - Lost Dog, Crab Shack, Rita's, Woody's Pizza, even ice cream at the Sugar Shack. Our family has fond memories of the trip and we WILL return and hope to stay at Lamm's End Cottage again!

Our week at Lamm's End Cottage was so relaxing we barely had the energy each evening to pick up our Scrabble tiles or lift another glass of wine. But we managed. The cottage is charming. Clean, comfortable (except the couch), colorfully and cleverly decorated, with a lovely kitchen, great rugs and a terrific front porch. It was nice to know Beth was only a phone call away, if we needed her. If you haven't been, Folly Beach is a quirky little place, with new/redone houses sitting elbow to elbow with cottages that could use a bit (or a lot) of sprucing up, surfers who actually call each other "Dude", miles of beach, dolphins for spotting, inky-black nights (don't forget a flashlight!), and a short main street lined with souvenir shops, bars and restaurants. We especially liked Lost Dog Cafe, but Taco Boy was good too. Frankly, our kitchen was so nice, we ate in a lot, shopping for last-minute items at Bert's and doing our main shopping at Harris-Teeter, worth driving an extra mile or two.

We stayed at the cottage with two other families and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This sweet cottage is clean, nicely appointed, and well loved by its owners. It is no distance to the beach, and a short drive in the car (or a good walk if you have no children) to the main town. Each family had one 2-year-old girl -- the girls loved the playground at the back. You won't go wrong if you choose Lamm's End as your place to stay in Folly Beach. If you stay, please take good care of it b/c like the owners, we love it too and want to go back.

We just spent two wonderful weeks at this wonderful beach house. All we can say is WOW. The place looks great on the web, but the pix do not due it justice. It far exceeded our expectations. The front porch is a dream, the back deck with the huge umbrella is a great place to relax after a long day on the beach. We have vacationed and rented homes all up and down the coast and even though we loved the time never went back twice to the same house, not the case here. We are looking forward to next year. THIS HOUS IS PERFECT. Beth is a dream, even got us a emergency dental appointment on a Sunday. All I can say is rent it.

My family just returned from our stay at Lamm's End Cottage. It felt so much like home right from the start. It met all my expectations and then some. So cozy and very neat and clean and so well organized! We loved being so close to the beach. It was nice, also, to be close to Charleston as we spent a lot of time there seeing the sights. We couldn't have asked for better or more comfortable accomodations. Thanks for everything, Beth! I missed not going down to the beach this morning to watch the sunrise!!
Owner response:This time my immense gratitude goes to our wonderful guests from Kansas. Our air conditioning system, (which I should add was the ONLY thing not replaced during the massive renovation of Lamm's End Cottage" three years ago!!), simply died without ANY warning. Fortunately we were able to get the HVAC system replaced the next day. Alice and Mark did not complain a bit... in fact Mark a handy fellow even stayed around that day to make sure everything was done right. I can not thank them enough!

My husband and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary and the specialness that Beth Lamm provides made this truly our best celebration! Our romantic evenings and adventurous days were coordinated by Vacation Traveler Services, a local concierge service, that cared and fulfilled our requests with catered services and eco-tours. I also had a fabulous shopping afternoon with a personal stylist! I love my husband! Thank you Beth, we will return to your cottage of care!

This property holds pleasure for all ages. The location, layout, and amenities were wonderful. My fresh-out-of-college child and friend thoroughly worked out the tennis court, My grandbaby and the parents completely enjoyed the Pirate's Cove playground behind the house. We all loved the hammock and rockers on the porch, the games played at the table, the fabulous kitchen and grills for cooking, and the electronics (DVDs, CD player, Internet hookups) found in the cottage. Of course, we were close enough to the beach for a quick dip (although some chose to sun on the sumptuous deck). The cottage was impeccably clean and decorated. The beds, bedding, linens, paper goods, sun chairs, and even beach towels were glorious. We also loved the close proximity to Charleston and the tours, restaurants, and shopping proffered (check out the Swamp Fox for lunch at the Francis Marion Hotel across from the park towards the top of Kings Street). Lamm's Cottage was the perfect place for vacationing. Beth (the owner) is so friendly and accommodating. You'll love the experience. We did!

Well what can I say? We had a fabulous stay at Lamm's End Cottage. We booked from overseas (Switzerland) which was easy to do and we were emailed and dealt with in a very friendly manner. (Beth - you are wonderful!) We wanted a homely cottage that had everything we needed for our small children. The layout of the cottage is great - a large lounge/sitting area which was perfect for our children to play in. All bedrooms are good sizes too and even better for the master bedroom, it has a delightful ensuite with a shower. (Main bathroom has a bath which was perfect for washing our boys after they had been down to the beach) The kitchen had everything and more.....a lovely place to cook and even better than my own! The appliances are well cared for and very clean. The whole feel of Lamm's End is a home from home. It made our journey from Switzerland very easy and helped us settle into our vacation very quickly. We had a fabulous time and we are looking forward to coming back very soon!! (My son 4 said he wants to go back already!)
Owner response:We've had so many folks from overseas visit Lamm's End and Lamm's End Cottage this year. I try to make our booking process as effortless as possible for everyone... but especially for our international guests who travel such a distance to enjoy the South Carolina lowcountry. It was a joy to have Daniel and Fiona and their little ones stay with us.

What a wonderful stay we had at Lamm's End in Folly, SC. The pictures and description were completely accurate. We were so relaxed, in fact, we all felt like we were staying at a friend's cottage and everyone agreed that we would definitely love to stay there again. Beth was very personable and helpful when we booked that days. The cottage was spotless and at night we could hear the waves from the ocean, which incidently was really a 2 minute walk away. Beautiful...and would recommend to anyone. Thanks for the fabulous place to stay.
Owner response: We work very hard to make sure our guests enjoy "Lamm's End Cottage" and the original pampered retreat "Lamm's End" by paying close attention to the details... fine, high-thread-count, all-cotton linens, a kitchen stocked with the appropriate pots, pans and gadgets, WiFi, Ipod connects etc. Last but not least--- our housekeeper, JoAnne, works tirelessly to ensure both of our homes are fresh and spotless. I appreciate the kind remarks of our Minneapolis guests. They treated "Lamm's End Cottage" as if it were their own!

We could never walk to the beach from home!!! :) Loved the front porch-spent many hours there! We have stayed in several homes before and you are never quite sure what to expect. Thanks for providing all of the necessities of home! All of the restraunts in Folly were wonderful and the town is so laid back. You made our week in Folly perfect! This home is perfect if you are looking for a relaxing vacation. The ameneties are too numerous to name. The playground in the "back yard" is perfect for those w/kids. The home is decorated beautifully and the beds are as comfortable as being at home. The fully equipped kitchen also makes you feel like you are at home. Beth is so accomodating and wonderful to work with. I would recommend this property to any of my friends or family. Thanks Beth for many wonderful vacation memories. We cant wait to return to Lamm's End.

This cottage was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. My husband, son and I came with our best friends and their little boy and we had a spectacular vacation. The cottage is decorated beautifully and had everything we needed and more. It is the perfect spot for a family to visit...the beach is around the corner and downtown Charleston was very close. We look forward to going back and staying here again!

Beth, The cottage is lovely. It was immaculately clean, the rooms charming and the linens luxurious. Folly Beach itself was clean and uncrowded.

Dear Beth, what a wonderful place to call home for a week! We had one of the best vacations ever on Folly Beach. The cottage is just perfect with everything we needed right there. You have wonderful taste and we appreciate all you did to make the cottage so special for your guests. Folly has just the right mix of local residents and tourists and we enjoyed the small town feel. The food was great - loved The Lost Dog and Woody's. Also check out Mimi's Cafe on Harbor View Road. EXCELLENT food and service. We saw so much history and enjoyed the beach and fishing. We will be back very soon! Thanks again, Beth for such a wonderful place to stay.

Beth, My family and I truly enjoyed our stay in the cottage the week of June 10-17th. We couldn't have had a better place to come together from all over the country to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. It was warm, inviting, relaxing and exhilarating for all of us. I have been telling everyone I know about this wonderful place and how to find it. We enjoyed the beach, the history and the food (especially the Lost Dog) of both Folly Beach and Charleston. As Siskel and Ebert used to say "Two thumbs up!"
