Our family of four truly enjoyed our stay. The property is well maintained and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Located in the proximity of one of the most beautiful beaches, yet in a driving distance from Honolulu. Thank You Susan for making us feel at home during our first visit to Oahu. We hope that we will come back soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers.

This was my second February at Kalama Kai and I am hoping to spend many more winters here. The cottage is clean, comfortable and cozy. It is wonderfully quiet and just the perfect location for accessing beautiful Kalama Beach and downtown Kailua Town. Susan is a wonderful host and is always available to answer any questions or help with any problems that you may have. I can't say enough good things about staying here. Mahalo Susan for another wonderful stay!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We have stayed at Kalama cottage the past 2 years and are looking forward to staying again next January. The property was very clean and cozy. Our host is wonderful and very accommodating. If we needed anything, it was provided quickly. We would recommend the cottage to any age couple. It is close to the town of Kailua and very handy to the highways for activities in any part of the island. Can't Wait To Return!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This was one of the best stays in Kailua, Oahu. Since we arrived after dark, Susan put on the lania lights for us.There was fresh fruit/tea/coffee for the next morning, Mahalo Susan. Anything that we talked to Susan about she very quickly accommodated us. We found the location to be perfect whether you are going to the beach or into town for a quick shop. The lania was wonderfully private to have our breakfast on every day. The queen bed was lovely to sleep on. We did not use the air conditioning at all. Having the washer/dryer made packing light. Thank you/Mahalo Susan for being part of our wonderful month holidayRecommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Just returned from my 2nd visit to Kalama Kai and the last one was not a dream, this is without a doubt the best deal and location. I have been to all of the islands and they are all great, but this slice of paradise beats them all. Already counting days until next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Our stay at the Kalama Cottage for the month of March 2012 was wonderful!! The location is accurately described. Your cottage is so adorably decorated with a tropical theme. It was very comfortable, relaxing and clean with everything you needed. Loved the private yard with all the plantings and especially the awesome lanai for early morning coffee and entertaining with family cookouts. Susan was very helpful with anything you needed. I would highly recommend this property to friends and relatives. Staying at the Kalama Cottage was a true Hawaiian experience. Mahalo Susan for such a wonderful stay!! We miss being there and hope to see you again next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I spent the month of February 2012 here and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The cottage exceeded my expectations in every way. In fact, I was so pleased that I reserved it again for Feburary 2013. I wanted a place that was comfortable and quiet and this cottage fit the bill perfectly. I also wanted a location where I could walk and ride my bike (which I purchesed there) to most of Kailua Town and this worked out well too. Also, since chose not to rent a car for the month, I wanted to be close to The Bus line. There was a Bus stop right around the corner from the cottage so, a two minute walk got me to the stop which was a direct line to downtown Honolulu. Susan, the owner, is amazingly nice and helpful. She will give you your privacy, if that's what you prefer but, she is always available to talk to you and work out any concerns or problems you may have. She's so nice that even after I scraped the side of a rental car which I had for one day on her beautiful lava rock wall, she was willing to have me back. However, I would recommend that you not do that! I would also recommend this cottage to anyone.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+.

We loved this little cottage. The owner respected our privacy and we only had contact with her when we needed something. (supplies, etc) The place was just as described in the description and photos. It was chean and eveything that we needed was included. We would highly recommend this cottage to a couple, whether young or old. Very close to amazing Kailua Beach and handy for travel to the North Shore or Honolulu.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We have stayed in Kailua a number of times and were delighted to find this excellent accomodation for us. It's quiet, local, very well equipped and an easy going, non touristy base to explore the island from or just a short walk to the fabulous Kailua beach. Susan was both welcoming and helpful but lets you get on with it. The nearby beach was the most beautiful we found on the island, and within walking distance. Perfect. We're already saving for our next time at Kalama Kai Cottage.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
