Why the Owner Chose Sealodge
Kauai is known as the" Garden Island" and Princeville, located on the north shore, is unreal. We are right on the ocean with wonderful trade winds. At night we fall asleep listening to the waves breaking on the shore. Its paradise.
Owner's Map of Sealodge
Hi, We are the Grindle's. Jim, not pictured, Ricki and our daughter Jaimi are the owners of our Princeville condo. While Jaimi was studying to become a Nurse she lived in the condo we now own. As parents we could not believe she lived in such a wonderful area as Princeville right on the ocean. One day she called and told us that the owners of the condo asked her if she would like to buy it. We were so excited about the idea that we said, lets do it. How could you not want a place right on the ocean in Kauai. Over the next six months we put in $40.000 in up grades. A friend of mine said if you are interested in renting your place I recommend vrbo. It was the right thing to do. Now we can rent our place and go when we want to. It has worked out perfect and jaimi now lives in kauai and works as surgical nurse. It is nice to have someone close by to the condo. Ricki and I live in Dana Point, Ca. and visit as often as we can.

We just got back from a week long stay and had the most amazing vacation. Waking up every morning to the sound of the surf and palm trees blowing in the breeze,Enjoying the day exploring the island then returning in the evening to enjoy dinner on the lanai as the sun is setting. What more could one ask for. The condo is well equipped with everything you could possible need from cooking to beach chairs and snorkle gear. Can not wait to go back!

We just returned from our second extended stay (a month last year and 3 weeks this time) and it was a great time again. We ate breakfast every morning on the lanai listening to the crashing waves on Anini Reef, seeing the nene occasionally walk up, catching a glimpse of the albatross, and even seeing spinner dolphins on a few calmer mornings. In the afternoons we would return from our "daily adventure" and rest or visit the pool. From the lawn just off the lanai the sunrises (looking right), and the sunrsets (looking left) can be most awesome. The VRBO listing is most accurate and the owner is very quick and willing to resolve any problems that might arise. You are within easy reach of Hanalei Bay, Ke'e beach, Tunnels Beach, Kalalau Trail, the restaurants and shops of the small town of Hanalei, and churches of different denominations. Princeville also has vibrant village shops and restaurants, as well as a public library. The snorkeling is really nice and some of the hiking trails offer magnificent views and physical challenges. Kayak rentals in Hanalei offer opportunity to get out in Hanalei Bay and see things from a different view. Sunsets there are a community "happening". There are way too many places to go and things to do on Kauai to list them all here. There are many internet forums on which to rely for useful information on activities and restaurants. We have visited most of the islands in Hawaii but Kauai is the one we continue to return to. It does have its share of free roaming chickens so do not be surprised if you hear roosters crowing or have chickens roaming around at some of the beaches, but hey, you are in Hawaii. If resort life is what you are looking for, this is probably not the place for you, but if you like things simple and relaxing this is the place.

This condo was great! Words cannot describe the view and sounds that you wake up to every morning, that you dine to every evening, that you fall asleep to every night. Location! Location! Location! - It is golden. From here, beautiful quiet beaches, amazing hiking and activities, quaint shopping and dining are minutes away. The North Shore is by far the best part of the island - and this condo puts you right in the middle of it. It has all the amenities needed for your home away from home - we were there for 2 weeks and have two young kids - and we were able to make meals and wash clothes and still feel like we were on vacation. The Grindles are very kind and made the reservation / rental process very easy - Thank you. All in all - we highly recommend it - we are already anticipating a return - but this time for even longer!

This is our favorite condo in Princeville and we were lucky to return for the second year in a row. The views are utterly gorgeous - you can lay in bed and look over the cliff at the ocean! One of our favorite things to do is eat dinner on the lanai and watch the sunset. It's a perfect location for activities - nearby hiking, swimming, ziplining, golf and numerous wonderful restaurants (Nanea and Postcards two of our favorites). The Grindles are a pleasure to work with and are very accommodating. All-in-all, a wonderful, relaxing, rejuvenating experience.

This is an awesome condo with an incredible view!!! Making reservations is easy and working with the Grindle's is great. This was our 4th stay on the Island of Kauai and in this condo, we would not stay anywhere else. The lanai is perfect for a relaxing meal or reading a good book with the waves and the sound of the surf and in season the whales cruising by before your very eyes, which we got to see this time we were there. The condo is clean, well maintained with everything you need from cookware, dishes, glasses to linens. The washer and dryer is also a great feature. Condo is well furnished and comfortable and falling asleep to the sound of the surf is so relaxing. Our favorite restaurant in the Princeville area is CJ's. The salad bar is wonderful, staff is very friendly and food is excellent. We recommend this condo to everyone who is looking for a place on Kauai.

Before renting the Grindle's condo, Jim told me that it had an incredible view. The night we arrived was dark and rainy. However, the next morning I could plainly see that he had not exaggerated. The view is spectacular! Consequently, my wife and I started every morning sitting out on the lanai, drinking in the beauty, watching the waves breaking on the shore and humpback whales breaching completely out of the water right in front of us. The condo, itself, is clean, well maintained, and nicely designed for easy living. There is a lot of open space all around it that is all in lawn. It is an easy walk up to Princeville Center where a number of restaurants, shops, and a supermarket are located. Also, it is only a few miles drive to Hanalei, a very Hawaiian laid-back village that we loved. South Pacific was filmed on the beach there. Our favorite Hanalei restaurant, The Dolphin, is a must. The St. Regis resort is close by and offers a wonderful view while dining. I have already recommended this condo to my friends, and my wife and I certainly plan to return. By the way, it was great making arrangements with the Grindles. They are terrific people.

My wife and I just spent a very relaxing and wonderful 10 days at Sealodge. Everything was perfect and exactly as advertised. Princeville has a number of good place to eat and the shops in Hanelei Bay are only a mile or so away. We also found a great beach area to swim and snorkel. We are already planning a return trip.
