Spotless, comfortable home in Brewster

Guest: RI Family (Cranston, RI)
Date of Stay: 08/21/10 Review Submitted: 09/12/10

We go to Brewster nearly every year, but had never stayed here before. The house was conveniently located just off Rte. 6A, within spitting distance of the Brewster General Store. The Rail Trail is about a half mile away--the ride is slightly harrowing with small kids, all on busy main roads. Brewster is a convenient location to access the Cape Cod National Seashore beaches, as well as the flats on the Bay side. The house was well-maintained, spotless, and spacious for our family of four. Which was good, as it rained heavily for half of the week we were there. We played games, watched movies, and cooked in the fully equipped kitchen. Although the house is listed as a three-bedroom, the third bedroom is not much bigger than a twin bed, under the eaves. We did not use it, and would not have wanted to rely on it if the weather were hot. Our dog accompanied us, and we enjoyed the large yard for him to play in. Although it is unfenced, the house and yard is set well back from the road. Except for the rain, an excellent experience.

We Love Brewster & Had a Great Experience

Guest: ES (Ontario, NY)
Date of Stay: 08/07/10 Review Submitted: 08/20/10

The house looks sort of small in the outside photo but is actually quite roomy with three bedrooms, 2 FULL baths, large living room, etc. It was very clean and comfortable. It is a reproduction of an old, antique home and is very convincing with thick walls, pine plank floors, 12 over 12 windows, lots of wrought iron on all the doors, hinges, etc. It also has built-in corner hutches in the dining room, built-in book shelves, and reproduction sconces and lighting fixtures that look old. The kitchen could be updated but is clean and very well equipped. There was nothing we looked for and didn't find. We thought the location was great with many excellent antique shops within walking distance, the Rail Trail (for bikes) was conveniently close, and the beach at the end of Linnell Road was easy to walk or bike to. It was easy to catch low tide there and watch the sunsets. David was very accomodating and available too. I would recommend it.
