Talladega lodging, turkey hunting Talladega National Forest,Talladega International Speedway!
If you could be anywhere this weekend, would it not be a place easy to get to and hard to leave? Blue Creek Lodge is just that kind of place.Three hours from Atlanta, two hours from Birmingham.
We have two cabins surrounded by gardens.
The first cabin was built by the CCC's in the 1930's.We moved it here in 1999, and completely remodeled it in 2001.It is a fun place to stay. One of Bobs Marine Corps friends said it was the best quarters he'd every stayed in.It has a full size bed,TV, kitchen area, and full bath with a tub/shower unit. The porch wraps completely around it.We do a lot of honeymoons in this cabin.
We built the lodge in 2004.It is a split level with both floors opening to ground level.Upstairs is a fully stocked kitchen, flat screen TV, sitting area, tables and chairs, and a half bath. The front porch has rocking chairs and a swing, the back porch is screened in with a sitting and napping area.
Down stairs are two bedrooms with queen size beds and private baths. There is a sitting area just outside the door. Both rooms are tasteful and peaceful.
Between the two cabins is a large deck perfect for a wedding. Both cabins and deck are surrounded by gardens.I try to have something in bloom ten months out of the year.
We have fifty park like acres bounded by the Talladega National Forest.Blue Creek flows a mile thru our property and is a fun place to just chill in.
I take pride in providing a clean, restful place for my guest. We have had a lot of guest this year and no one wanted to leave, many stayed a few days longer and some have come for return visits.
Bob is a retired Marine and I'm a retired business owner. We began building this place fourteen years ago and did all the work ourselves.
So come see for yourself, we'd love to have you visit we'll treat you like family or we'll leave you to yourself, what ever makes you happy. Please have a look at my guest book, check out what a few of our guest have to say about their stay here.E-mail me,I'll send you pictures. If you read our feedback you see so many of our guest just become part of Blue Creek Lodge,BUT we have many guest who enjoy being alone and that's great too!

Awesome place. My sister and I spent a very invigorating time at the Blue Creek Lodge. We sat on the front porch just rocking and watching the hummingbirds, taking in the scenery, and just relaxing. We were able to have time catching up with our very good friend Diana, meeting a new friend Bob. Family reuions can be stressful at times but we were able to retreat and regroup in a very peaceful place. Two days after returning home to Missouri and back to work my sister wanted to go back to the Lodge nand hide out. We highly recommend Blue Creek Lodge to those who wish to get away from the ratrace, cell phones, and people.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

I stopped about 4:30, my usual time, and asked my GPS for a place to stay... and am I glad I did!!! A short 10 minute ride took me to a beautiful and majical place in the forests of Alabama. I have met a lot of people on my trip across Canada and the USA on my international tour and by far the best was my stay with Bob and Dianna that stretched from a one night stay to a full week... wow... what great people and beautiful countryside. Taladega Raceway was a blast. I was made to feel right at home in beautiful settings with everything supplied that a guy could want right at hand. I am planning a trip with Blue Creek Lodge as a destination. What more can be said about an incredibly beautiful spot and wonderful people.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The place and the owners are fabulous. Our girls were welcomed by Mr. Bob with a gift; Mrs. Diana told them to pick any flowers they wanted; we had a marshmallow roast; and personl tour of the entire property. The place is so family friendly! The girls hardly wanted to do the other things we had planned they were enjoying our stay so much. We felt like od friends when it was time to go home. We hope to return for another stay. The area is beautiful. There is great hiking and a waterfall nearby. We have already recommended Blue Creek Lodge to friends!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Wow! Our family of eight stayed at the Lodge for four nights. We loved it! It was SO clean and beautiful. The price was great for all the room and amenities. My kids loved sleeping on the porch, hiking down to the creek, attending a fancy tea party with Mrs. Diana, having marshmallows around the campfire, watching Mr. Bob make quivers and arrows for homemade bows, and running and playing (like kids should) around the beautiful property that Mr. Bob and Mrs. Diana have built together. We really enjoyed visiting with them and they were so generous with ANYTHING we needed. I can't think of one thing you would need to bring other than clothes and food - they have everything!! Also, the lodge is packed with every book you would ever want to pick up on vacation and plenty of magazines. I do mean everything is thought through about how to make your stay pleasurable. We loved it and would recommend either place to anyone headed to or through Alabama. We even entertained family and friends in the cabin while we were there (it was a great half way point for us.) The cabin is really nice and my family was very pleased with their place to stay, too! And this is just a comment about the accommodations - the whole area surrounding them is beautiful too! Just a few miles down the road we saw waterfalls, mountains, streams, rocky ledges, and beautiful trees and flowers. The Cheaha State Park is really close and gives a view from the highest place in Alabama. Awesome with the fall colors! Thank you so much for a memorable vacation! We love you both! We hope to come back soon.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

First off, the cabin was wonderful and far surpassed all of my family's(2 adults & 2 kids) needs. More importantly, the Manns (Bob and Diana) are wonderful hosts. They made our family part of their family for the weekend. For example, they invited us to a bonfire with their friends and family. My two curious, hyper boys kept asking on the way home "when can we see Mr. Bob and Mrs. Diana again? When can we stay in the cabin again?".Owner response: Thank you Jason.

We had a sudden opportunity to take a 2-day trip, and luckily found Bob and Diane's ad online. I was driving up from New Orleans in bad weather thinking, "Why did I do this? I'm making my family drive 11 hours round trip for a 1-day vacation!" Well from the minute we pulled in to the Blue Creek Lodge until the minute we left, we were in heaven. Bob and Diane made us feel right at home. They shared their kindness, good humor, and their encyclopedic knowledge of local flora, fauna and history. We are champing at the bit to return. No 5-star luxury resort could even come close to matching the experience of visiting the Blue Creek Lodge.Owner response: Thanks Lou.We ejoyed having you and your family visit. You are fun people!!!!! Diana

Dear Bob and Diana, Words can not express how much we enjoyed staying at the Blue Creek Lodge. My children and I needed a peaceful and renewing vacation while there daddy was deployed in Iraq for a year. Not only was the cabin charming, beautiful and welcoming, you treated us like family. Thank you for loving on my children. They have wonderful memories of playing in the creek, exploring, dress-up tea parties and both of you. They can't wait to go back and see DiNana and Gramps. Our time there was such a blessing and you will forever have a special place in our hearts. My husband, can't wait to come with us next time. We love you and consider you part of our family. Thank you!Owner response: Thanks Pam. It was a joy to have you here with us. We look forward your next visit.

We fleed Hurricane Gustav and stayed at Blue Creek Lodge. It was absolutely wonderful. Bob and Diana could not have been more friendly or hospitable!!! The cabin was so nice that we really didn't want to leave. We made our hurricane evacuation into a vacation and this was the perfect place to do it. We will definitely go back...Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
