A truly wow! experience. The Villa easily accommodated the two other couples we vacationed with - spaces for group gatherings and sunset martinis, and very private spaces for 'quiet time'. The best surprise was the attention to detail for amenities, and especially our 'own' concierge, Mauricio. He checked with us every day for tour bookings, as well as dinner reservations. He helped us with any request. Both he and Dave were attentive. It was a true, relaxing get-away.

WOW, WOW, WOW I highly recommend the entire experience staying at Casa de Frutas. The location, the people, the food the entire setting and views continue to linger in my heart and mind. I am constantly refreshed by the memories I carry within my heart. I have come back to Colorado and I have told many people that it was one of the best vacation spots and experience I have had in my entire life! For me it is all about positive connections in this life and I can assure you I felt as if I was in the presence of long lost friends. The food was amazing! Dave and Mauricio are clearly talented at creating an environment of peace, calm and beauty on all levels. They obviously care deeply about their guests and the staff they work with. I chose Casa de Frutas to celebrate my 60th birthday. I couldn't have chosen a more beautiful place. The views from every room are stunning. It takes your breath away. Photos cannot capture this incredible home and location. We chose to eat most of our meals at the casa. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. If you don't want to cook Mauricio is always available to make dining arrangements at any local restaurant. The entire home has all you could want and then some. Every detail has been given much attention. No review would be complete without mentioning the staff. All I can say is wow!!! Every single person was exceptional from Mauricio, our concierge to the gardener who was always quick to point out numerous flora and fauna. The ladies who took care of the house were very professional, friendly and talented flower arrangers. I miss every single staff member. I had high expectations that were more than exceeded. It was indeed a dream vacation come true. I would return in a heartbeat.

This is the best vacation that I have ever had. The location was breathtaking with all the lush vegetation and ocean views. Everything about the villa casa de frutas was extravagant and gorgeous including the exotic flowers everywhere and the monkeys outside. The service down to every last detail was exemplary and included reservations for restaurants and excursions, multiple surprise gifts and beds made up with fresh ironed sheets every day. The people were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful, towels, lounge chairs and umbrellas provided and the ocean was warm and fun for body surfing. Every amenity seemed to be available, the drinking water was clean and the food delicious. We had an amazing time in this pure paradise.

In all my travels around the world, never have I experienced such splendor. Paradise pales in comparison with this retreat. From the moment we arrived at the villa we were treated like royalty. Everyone was waiting to greet us when we arrived and the villa far surpassed our every expectation. The attention to detail was amazing. We could not have asked for more. It was fabulous being able to simply talk to Mauricio about our wishes regarding restaurants and excursions and have him arrange every detail from transportation to reservations. There was so much to do (beautiful beach, amazing animals at your doorstep, zip lining, white water rafting, fabulous restaurants ect. We will have to come back. Thank you Dave, Mauricio and allof your amazing staff. We leave totally rested and renewed.

"There are no photos that can show the perfection of Casa Frutus." Before leaving for Costa Rica, we checked out Casa de Frutus on the Internet and were most impressed. However, ther are no photos that can show the peace, calm and serenity of the elegant surroundings. The views and sunsets were breathtaking. The staff was efficient and pleasant in addition to providing us with stunning artistic floral arrangements throughout the Casa. Dave and Mauricio took on the responsibility of seeing to our every wish and need and made all the arrangments for our taxis, restaurants and tours, leaving us to simply enjoy ourselves. After two weeks, we returned home relaxed and re-enegerized. This was a perfect holiday!

Casa de Frutas was the experience of a lifetime. I traveled the world in my working life, but never encountered the service and amenities provide by Dave and Mauricio and their team. From the greeting upon arrival to the fairwell, they were there to see to our every need, but they weren't underfoot either. The home was absolutely beautiful, but only exceeded by the views from the open air living spaces. A terrific kitchen to work in if you so choose. The swimming pool was a daily stop after getting back from the days activities and just as a peaceful gathering space with world class views. Sleeping accomodations were very comfortable. Overall a 12 on a scale of 10! Tulemar as a community was superb - the beach, the local pools, breakfast, the Bloody Marys and Mojitos!! As with Dave and his team, the Tulemar folks were equally ready to make you at home. Quepos/ Manuel antonio is a wonderful part of the world. Great local restaurants, zip lining, world class fishing, beautiful beaches - just to name a few of the available experiences. Or, relax and take in the views and enjoy the wildlife! Our visit to Casa de Frutas was truly one of those few life experiences which met every hope and expectation, accented by wonderful people.

We stayed in Dave's house for a week. From the second that we arrived, it was perfection. The full staff was waiting for us, the driver that Mauricio arranged had already taken us to lunch and to see the crocodiles and Dave and Mauricio were on hand to show us everything. They had fresh fruit and snacks ready, what a welcome! We have traveled quite a bit and rented several large houses in Europe, Dave's house was my favorite of them all. I never tired of looking out at the gorgeous view. The kids rooms were downstairs, it would not be a good arrangement if you only had small children, but it is perfect if you have older children because we all had our own space. Wonderful Mauricio arranged for us to go ziplining, atving, and white water rafting -- he also rented a sailboat with a crew for us, helped us find a surf instructor and a private yoga teacher who came to the house, a chef who cooked a terrific meal for us all and a masseuse who came to the house. I was also able to pay a little extra to have the wonderful cleaning ladies do our laundry (so it was a real vacation!) The private beach was perfect -- fun for boogie boarding but not too rough. Kayaking was easy and fun for the kids. The bar was good and the people were friendly and you don't have to worry about your stuff getting taken, it's all private. The shuttle drivers took us to the beach and back each day (too steep to walk with tired kids), so it could not have been easier. Rent this house, you will not regret it (but don't tell all of your friends, I want to go back!!)

Casa De Frutas is absolutely stunning. We did not want to leave. The people who looked after Casa De Frutas from the owner to the groundskeeper were all first class. Mauricio, our concierge, was very helpful in coordinating every detail. We especially liked our dinners prepared in the house by Christopher and Mykal. The housekeepers were especially attentive in keeping everything tidy and nice. Costa Rica itself is beautiful and we took advantage by doing activities (zip lining, horseback riding, repelling, jet skiiing, Atving, whitewater rafting, etc.) every day. But it was such a great feeling to return to Casa De Frutas at the end of the busy day.

It looked and sounded great on the website, and was even better in person. The house is really magnificent, the view is incredible, and the resort beach is perfect. Dave and Mauricio took care of everything we needed including answering all of our pre-arrival questions and helping us book our daily activities. They know the area well, and hook you up with the best guides and restaurants. We especially appreciated the daily extras, such as warm brownies. My facebook pictures of our trip to Casa de Frutas in Manuel antonio were instant hits among family and friends. My family had a really fantastic experience, and I recommend Casa de Frutas without reservation, knowing that your expectations will not only be met, but exceeded in every way.

We were seeking a relaxing, low-stress escape, and Casa de Frutas ws the perfect destination. The house is beautiful and well-designed, with three separate suites that allow privacy when you want it and shared living space. The views from every room are magnificent - rain forest and ocean. We loved the fact that there is no real distinction between indoors and outdoors - you really experience the exotic environment, complete with the sounds of exotic birds, monkeys and of course, the ocean. The service is impeccible, from the daily cleaning/ maintenence, an attentive personal concierge, and the fact that our host obviously has strived to anticipate every need. The special extras - like homemade brownies, a chef-cooked breakfast, dropping off a tray of tropical fruits - really put it over the top. The grounds at Tulemar are as beautifully lush as the nearby Manuel antonio National Park. There is a convenient shuttle service for the grounds and some nearby restaurants/shops, but we often walked - a nice hike from the house to the pools, beach or retail area. Overall, an amazing experience.

After a long travel day, we were greeted with warm welcoming smiles at the front entrance of Casa de Frutas. Dave, Mauricio and the staff then served each of us with a refreshing eucalyptus scented face towel - soon I would realize this would be just one of the many ways would impress us during our week-long stay. There's a distinct feeling of attention to detail - they seem to anticipate what you will need before you even realize it yourself - I think their personal mission must be to make every moment as perfect, and as memorable as possible. They then opened the large beautiful double door, and we walked inside. There isn't a picture on their site or comment you will read that can prepare you for that moment! The open air living, the stunning ocean view, and rain forest surrounding you, the warm breeze, the tasteful luxurious bali style design that showcases complete comfort and tropical living. Words or images can't capture how breathtaking this villa truly is. We felt extremely safe, well catered to; our every need or desire taken care of. We had two families which included 3 boys ages 10, 12 and 13, and there was more than enough space and plenty of activities to keep us busy when we wanted - Mauricio has the magic touch in organizing anything from dining to excursions. We saw more wildlife sitting at our kitchen table then we did walking through the National Park. This is a "pinch me" rental that's all about "the good life". I'm conflicted in recommending it because selfishly, I want it all to myself. The only thing I would change is to lengthen my stay which I hope to do next time

Words can really not describe the stunning beauty nor the exceptional way you are treated at Casa De Frutas! This is a one of a kind experience is all I can say. There is a not a single thing that could be improved - unless Dave, Mauricio and the staff can figure out how to slow down time! This part of Costa Rica is stunning but they truly made the difference. Mauricio is a delight and takes all of the 'work" out of important vacation decisions. We loved "Dave" at the beach. All of the staff - Chris, the girls who made the home an oasis of perfection each day, the shuttle drivers...Wow. You truly feel special - in a special place. I would list all of the wildlife we saw right from the house but the review would be too long! One FYI for parents is our boys and our nephew are 10, 12 & 13 - and I wouldn't recommend kids any younger in this house, but for those with more mature kids, and for adults - Perfecto!!!

Casa de Frutas far exceeded our expectations. There is no way we could have imagined all that we experienced during our stay. Casa de Frutas provided an open air architectural masterpiece, spectacular views, abundant monkey activity, a truly private beach and much welcomed pampering. We especially appreciated our warm welcome by the entire staff, the delivery of warm brownies after a long day at the beach, our authentic Costa Rican breakfast and the incredible floral arrangements found throughout the house. Dave, Mauricio and staff delivered the perfect balance between making sure our every need was met and allowing us privacy to enjoy the house. Furthermore, Manuel antonio is a gem itself. It has great restaurants, a variety of excursions available and the friendliest people I have ever encountered in all my travels.

Our adventure begins as we pull up to the front of Casa de Frutas and Mauricio, Dave and the staff are greeting us with smiles and a sip of the local fair. The house was all it was said to be and more. The comfort of your own home with the services of a five star hotel. Our week was full of activities that Mauricio recommended and help arrange. The evenings were spectacular and relaxing. But its really the service that Dave and Mauricio provide that made the week so special. Just enough, not over the top, but always helpful when needed. To give you an idea of the extra effort they put in to making sure your stay is special, on the last day of our trip we told Mauricio that our daughter in law wanted to make sure that we get pictures of a sloth. Well we had not seen one yet. Monkeys yes but no sloths. About a 1/2 hour later we get a knock at the front door and it's Mauricio and the crew. Sure enough they had gone sloth searching and found not just one but 4 to show us and get pictures. Way to go guys. Thanks again for a very special week. George, Jan Karen and Jeff!

My family had a fabulous week at Casa de Frutas, located inside of beautiful Tulemar Gardens. Dave, the owner, is a gracious host. Mauricio, the house manager (and more) is a gem. Trust me, you will want to take Mauricio home with you! The staff is top notch. Think the Ritz Carlton brand is the best? Think again...Casa de Frutas is hands down the best! The villa is absolutely beautiful, and the attention to detail is amazing. The villa overlooks the Pacific Ocean. We have fabulous pictures of the sun setting each evening. We walked to the private beach several times throughout our stay and enjoyed brunch and drinks at the beach. Life should be like this every day! What a treat to leave cold and snowy Michigan and travel to beautiful Costa Rica. My family had a great week, and we all voted this the best vacation ever. If you want to experience paradise, then I offer three words...Casa de Frutas!

Casa de Frutas is a fabulous property situated in beautiful Tulemar Gardens. The villa is beautiful, and the attention to detail is amazing. My family voted this trip to Costa Rica and, specifically, to Casa de Frutas the best vacation ever! We loved seeing the sloths, the iguanas and the monkeys from the terrace....which just happens to overlook the Pacific Ocean. Dave, the owner, was extremely gracious. Mauricio, the house manager (and more) is a gem. The staff took great care of the villa and grounds. For all of the reasons listed above, my family hated to leave. Leaving the cold and snow behind us in the US and coming to Costa Rica was wonderful. Every day we were at the Casa de Frutas was a day in Paradise!

I traveled with 9 friends down to Manuel antonio and stayed at Casa de Frutas. I could not believe how beautiful the house was and how exceptional the staff was. We have traveled all over Costa Rica and have stayed at 13 different properties. Our week at Casa de Frutas is one of our most memorable. From the very minute when we were greeted by Dave, Mauricio and the staff of Casa de Frutas we could not have been more pampered and catered to. The house was amazing, beautiful, clean and well kept. The maids were quiet, friendly and went about their business. Mauricio was so friendly and extremely helpful, from finding lost luggage to arranging doctors appointments, booking all our activities, I don't know what we would have done without him. We love Mauricio! The added little touches, brownies, breakfast, beautiful flowers, books to read, movies, gifts coming and going were beyond what we expected and were certainly appreciated. We, as a family all agree that our trip to Costa Rica could not have been better and we miss it every day. We came home to lots of snow and cold weather. No more flip flops, no more beautiful beaches and gorgeous sunsets, what can we say, we have told a lot of our friends and family about Casa de Frutas and they are all interested in visiting. We got all our pictures back from white water rafting, zip lining, touring the natiional park, horse back riding and they are great, good memories of our trip. I could not say enough wonderful things about Case de Frutas! Architecturally the house is amazing and the decor is inspired. They design of the house is just right so that everyone can be together and enjoy the family holiday, yet each couple had their own space (including small kitchens and private balconies) to get away for some quiet time and privacy. On the second floor the house is open air (no walls) on the side facing the ocean, so has the most gorgeous and uninterrupted views of the green hillside and sea. The thought of no walls made me feel uneasy before I got there but it's design makes it so it is completely safe. I'm also not a big fan of creepy crawlies and critters, and I don't think I saw any bugs in the hosue during our entire stay. Mauricio, personal butler extraordinaire, is friendly and attentive and made arrangements for anything and everything we wanted to do. There was a lovely woman who would come in daily to clean (I forget her name!), and she was also an extremely gifted florist who was responsible for the flower arrangements in over the house. Dave, the owner, we met on several occasions and he is a genuinely nice American guy whose love of Costa Rica is infectious. There is a hotel in Tulemar with a pool and restaurant, but we never went once as there was really no need to. The house has it's own infinity edge pool with a perfect view of the sea beyond, complete with day bed, outdoor shower and loungers, and for dinner we wither went out in Manuel Antonio or cooked at home. The private beach for Tulemar is smallish but gorgeous, with the thick dense forest coming all the way down to the beack to give it a truly isolated and natural feel. There is a small snack bar serving good lunch food and some of the most reasonably priced drinks I've had on any holiday in recent memory. Mauricio cooked my family breakfast on our last morning and it was the most memorable meal of the trip. We met some interesting wildlife, including lizards, toucans and monkeys, but sadly never saw the elusive sloth even though we kept looking! They were probably having a nap.

Casa de Frutas, managed by Dave and Mauricio, cannot come more highly recommended. I have travelled quite extensively and stayed in some of the worlds most highly rated hotels, and Casa de Frutas is definitely a contender. If I had to compare my experience to one other place I've stayed in, it would be the amanpuri resort in Phuket. From the simple stylish decoration to the maids who somehow manage to go about their duties without you noticing they are there. This is truly a very special place that obviously prides it self on service and attention to detail. Mauricio who is the 'personal butler' of the house is like a magician. Faced with any daunting task from lost luggage to last minute excursions, he was able to remedy anything within minutes...but more impressively with a sincere smile and zen-like demeanor. The balance of having this level of service and yet not have someone leaning over your shoulder is what Casa de Frutas has mastered. Like a Swiss Finishing School in hospitality. I have been back in London now for two weeks since my vacation and not one day has passed that I didn't have a passing thought of being back at Casa de Frutas.

As we wrote in the house's guest book, how do you add superlatives on top of superlatives? We've rented vacation villas around the world during the Christmas-New Year's holidays for years. We all thought this was in the top one or two best experiences we've had. House was ideal for an extended family or for (3) couples with just the best mix of common areas and private spaces. There was absolutely no detail about the design, setting and/or service that wasn't over the top. Take it from us - the villa was perfection. Only change we think they should make is a new video about the property. The current one doesn't do it justice.

I am hesitant to review honestly because then other people will discover our favorite vacation spot of all time! Seriously, the house is spectacular, the view is breathtaking, but both are surpassed by the care and attention of the staff, especially Mauricio. We couldn't have asked for a more fabulous vacation. My wife and I just got back from Casa de Frutas in Tulemar. If you want to visit Manuel antonio, please, please, do yourself a favor and stay here. First, the people are great. Dave and Mauricio are the best. They are not only nice, but they genuinely care about their guests. They want you to have a great time! I can't even to begin to describe the beauty of the house or the area. Wildlife everywhere! The house makes you feel like you are in the lap of luxury but in the middle of the jungle. Dave and Mauricio did so many nice things for us at their guests. They brought us warm, hot brownies. They had a very nice lady come in and make us breakfast. They made sure we got everywhere safely. They really went above and beyond. The tours were awesome. We went zip lining and white water rafting - both cannot be missed! Back to the house - we could easily have slept more people. I think that 3 couples would be the perfect amount at Casa de Frutas. It was in a safe area and had a gate. We never felt uncomfortable. The housekeepers were sweet (they scrubbed our shoes after going out all day; I have never seen that level of commitment to making your guests happy). The gardner was so friendly, he showed us all the plants and animals. They were all there for you but never intrusive. Most of all, go and enjoy the scenery and the people. Both are unforgettable. Pura Vida!

Our vacation at Casa de Frutas was more than we ever imagined. The setting, including the beautiful ocean view, monkeys and toucans in our backyard, and gorgeous flowers everywhere, was unbelievable. The highly trained staff made our experience so comfortable and unforgettable. The tours and adventures that the house manager helped us schedule were perfect. The home itself was beautiful, roomy and comfortable. We will treasure our memories of the fabulous week we spent at Casa de Frutas.

We stayed a week this year and last year at Casa de Frutas. Easily booked through Dave at www.4tulemar.com. The house has a magical feel, with an incredible view of the Pacific. Perfectly decorated, impeccably maintained. It even has its own pool. We also saw more wildlife at the house than at the national park. Before our first visit, we were a little concerned about renting a house in a foreign country, knowing nothing about where to eat, what activities to do, but Dave and Mauricio took incredibly good care of us. We've been many places, but have never experienced better service. This year's trip was just as marvelous. There's so much to do, you will never be bored, but you can also just relax at the pool or the private beach. Tulemar is the best place to stay in Manuel Antonio, and Dave and Mauricio are surely the best hosts.

Vacation time is a very special thing. No one wants to take a chance that this valuable time is less than spectacular. I've stayed at Casa de Frutas on several occassions during various times of year over the past 4 years. I can only say, the experience gets better each time. Dave, Mauricio and his wonderful and caring staff always exceed my expectations. Five stars just doesn't seem adequate given the level of service, hospitality, location and grandeur of this very special place. I only hope that Heaven will be as good as Casa de Frutas!

We rented "Casa de Frutas” and found breathtaking panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding jungle. The flawless "Bali" designed home gives a unique indoor-outdoor experience with all that Costa Rica has to offer. A simple jungle path (or by car on their road) leads to a beautiful private beach with all the beach amenities for endless beach fun. Dave and Mauricio's attention to every detail made our vacation experience effortless and exceeded our expectations. Costa Rica is a beautiful country full of lovely people who made us feel welcome. It was truly a vacation of a lifetime!

If I could give this rental 20 stars, I would. Beautiful home, in a great location, with awesome service. The Concierge arranged every detail -- felt like I didn't need to lift a finger. The staff was helpful and efficient, but not intrusive. Overall a great group of people! The area is beautiful and full of wildlife. Area restaurants are great -- and the Concierge made sure we had the best tables and top notch service everywhere we went. Would recommend this home to anyone who enjoys tropical locations and feeling like a billionaire (without having to be one)!
