The new Lionshead Children’s Ski School reservation center is 15 kid steps from our condo’s stairwell. It is literally the closest condo to the school & if your family participates you will love the convenience. You can get your children reserved and situated in ski school & then return to the condo for another cup of coffee & finish getting dressed. And ..... the location is wonderfully convenient if you forgot something. You have to climb 2 stories to get to the condo but the apartment & the location, location, location are well worth it!!!
If you are bringing your own equipment, then take advantage of the ski/snowboard valet service that we have arranged for you. You can leave your equipment there each day (on us) & walk the few steps to the condo building empty handed. No other condo offers you that, I can assure you!!
If you need to rent equipment, we have established a relationship with a Ski & Rental shop 10 steps from our condo stairwell. They will provide you with a 20% discount off your rental equipment. They have excellent service and top of the line equipment.

Why the Owner Chose Lionshead Arcade
Friends of ours from Santa Barbara, who own another unit in the building, told us about the condo when it came on the market. We bought it sight unseen immediately & have never regreted it. We loved the condo because of how close it was to the ski school & the Gondola & mountain - not to mention the shops, the restaurants & the town bus. LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Our condo building is just about closer to the mountain than any other. The location is perfect for any family. The Lionshead ski school is 15 feet from our building; we can check our 11 year old into her class & then go back to the condo & get ourselves ready. There is a rental shop at the bottom of the stairs where you can leave your equipment each day after skiing. We are located less than a minute walk to & from the Gondola. That means - no dragging heavy equiptment onto busses; no long walks back to the parking lots; no drives to neighboring towns in traffic. The condo is about LOCATION! LOCATION!! LOCATION!!! Since we spend so much time in Vail, we have decorated it be as comfortably as possible & it is ideal for couples or family living. There are flat screen TVs in Master & Living Room & a smaller TV in the 2nd bedroom. It is easy to cook a meal - or, if you prefer to eat out, there are many restaurants in walking distance OR the free town bus that runs constantly from early morning to late evening can take you anywhere in Vail to eat. We know you will enjoy the place as much as we do!
We have skied many other ski resorts for the past 30 years but we "bought" @ Vail Mountain as it is the premier resort to ski in the country. And the Lionshead Ski School is probably the best ski school that we have ever experienced.
The bus stop is 35 feet from our condo. The free bus can take you anywhere in town. It is most convenient. "D" on the bus stop is a 30 second bus ride away. The bus runs all day & night & is the qui
100 steps away. Our building is the closest to the Lionshead Gondola - which is the ONLY enclosed access to the top of the Vail Mountain. Ask us about the ski valet at the bottom of the mountain!! y

We are a family of 5 (19 year old daughter, Jackie is missing from photo) who live in Santa Barbara, CA (see our other site) and vacation in Vail as often as possible. RJ (20) & Maddy (12) have traveled to the "dark side" and are snow boarders while Kate & Ken still manage to get down the slope on skies. All of us enjoy the snow & it brings our family closer together each time we travel to Vail. We spend alot of time in the condo and have done our best to make it a wonderful & very comfortable experience for ourselves & our guests.

This property is beautiful! There were two couples and a single and we fit perfectly. We loved that the kitchen opened up into the dining room and living room area. The patio has a great view- partial mountain- and everything is SUPER close! You won't need to use your car unless you have to hit up Safeway. Shopping, coffee, spa, etc was all within the block. I would highly recommend this place! It is on the third floor, so a little bit of a hike with your gear, but worth it. Thank you for sharing your home with us and our two doggies! :)
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with young children.

Hi Kate, On behalf of the group, I just wanted to thank you and Ken for having had the opportunity to rent your condo for our group’s recent ski week. It was absolutely great, being so close to the lifts, cooking in such a well equiped kitchen, staying in some evenings and enjoying the comfortable living room and fireplace, …, I could go on and on, it was just perfect for us. Thanks also for the recommendations; we did make it out and enjoyed Campo de Fiori, Arrabelle for apres, and Garfinkels. We should have made reservations early in the week at Sweet Basil, as it was so busy by the end of the week, couldn’t get in. As for the skiing, we were fortunate enough to have a number of days of fresh snow, so the Vail’s back bowls were a lot of fun. One thing you might want to recommend to future renters is to take a day and take the shuttle ($5 each way) to check out Beaver Creek, this is something our group enjoyed. Regards,David Mitchell PS.
