'Mama Bear' is only a short drive to Sylva, Dillsboro, Cashiers, and Highlands. There are many fun things to do in Cherokee; and Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Dollywood are excellent 1 day excursions. Drive to Cataloochee and see the Elk or snow ski before enjoying the hot tub. Call Western Carolina University to check the entertainment schedule and plan to catch a concert, play, athletic event, or craft show there. Mountain Heritage Day, held the last Saturday in September, is always a great reason to visit the area.
