Calabasas Creek Bed and Breakfast is a luxurious and spacious hideaway nestled in a creekside country setting among ancient oak trees. If you're seeking serenity, peacefulness, and quietude, and you enjoy nature, this is the setting for you. Situated on a country road designated as a Scenic Corridor, you will be surrounded by lush greenery on all sides and since you are the only guests, you will enjoy complete privacy.
The guest suite faces a year-round creek and pond and as you gaze beyond them, a beautiful vineyard peeks through the trees. The light-filled suite includes cathedral ceiling with large wooden beams, wood trim throughout the suite, brazilian cherry wood floors,fireplace, and an elegantly carved queen-size bed with down comforter and pillows and hand embroidered linens. The bathroom area is fully-tiled with a large glassed-in shower and an indoor Jacuzzi tub for two overlooking a lovely outdoor garden. Amenities in bath area include wall-mounted magnifying mirror, bathrobes and hair dryer. Luggage racks and ironing board and iron may be found in a near-by closet.
For the high-tech guest, we offer a high speed cable connection and a 37 inch high-definition plasma TV with many movie channels and a DVD,VCR player. For those who prefer, there are two large easy chairs which you can sink into for a good read or one of those delightful vacation naps.
The delicious breakfast begins with rich dark coffee and or tea, fresh squeezed orange juice and home-baked breakfast breads and pastries served with home-made jam, all prepared by the host, a former pastry chef. A sampling of the main breakfast entrees may include french scrambled eggs, chicken apple sausage and country fried potatoes, or eggs en cocotte(a variation of poached eggs which includes spicy breakfast meats, cheese and seasonings). Yet another favorite entree that originated in Denmark, is a light puffy pancake that is cherry-filled and served with butter and powdered sugar or pure maple syrup. And of course, our home-made granola is always a hit! All of these delicious dishes and many not listed, are accompanied by fresh in-season fruit, and they are served either inside at the cozy dinning table or outside on the private deck that overlooks the year-round Calabasas Creek and pond, all under the beautiful overhanging limbs of huge, old oaks. As you enjoy breakfast, relaxing in the morning sunlight, listen to the songs of birds and the chattering of squirrels beginning their day as well.
The kitchenette includes sink and counter, refrigerator (with ice maker) and microwave, as well as small coffee maker and an electric tea kettle, and it is equipped with dishes and silverware.
Upon arrival you will be greeted with a bottle of Sonoma County wine and a platter of tasty appetizers. Bon appetit! Welcome to your home away from home.
