After viewing numerous sites and reading countless reviews, we finally chose to stay at L’Horizon. From our initial enquiry through to the end of our holiday, Barrington the owner, delivered the highest level of service. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He was always available to answer any queries we had. The 5 star treatment started in the air conditioned vehicle that picked us up from the airport. There was even a cooler filled with much needed liquid refreshments! When we pulled up outside the villa, we realised that the pictures didn't do it justice-the villa was stunning and that was just the outside. We were greeted at the door by the wonderful staff. Their smiles and warm greetings made us feel at home straight away. Even though we were tired from our long journey, the lovely smells wafting from the kitchen soon revived us. Many in our party had never been to Jamaica, so there was a lot for us to fit in to make the most of all Jamaica had to offer. The driver took us everywhere we wanted to go no matter what the time was. Even visiting the same place numerous times in the one day! He was cheerful and very helpful nothing was a problem for him. The chef was on hand to cook any meal we wanted. Cooking for a party of 18 was no easy task but every meal was delicious. We were very grateful for the gym to work off the extra calories! The housekeeping staff, kept the house immaculate. The rooms were first class and beautifully decorated. We had fresh towels, clean linen and every area of the house was cleaned daily. The ground staff ensured that the pool area and the grounds were kept clean. Not once did they complain about our mess. They were always smiling and couldn't do enough for us. Let me not forget to mention the reason why we stayed at L’Horizon. Jamaica is a beautiful island matched only by the richness of its people and its wonderful food. If you are sceptical like I was about going to Jamaica, don’t be. Push any pre-conceived ideas to one side and experience Jamaica for yourself. You’ll be amazed and will ask yourself like I did ‘Why didn’t I come before?’ We had a fantastic time in Jamaica staying at L’Horizon and there were a lot of tears when we left. We had a holiday that we will never forget and would recommend it to everyone. L’Horizon we will be back – if you’ll have us!

My time at L’Horizon is ranked as one of the best accommodation I have had the good fortune to stay in. As a regular traveller to Jamaica, I have stayed in a variety of hotels, apartments and villas. But nowhere, in my opinion, was the welcome as warm or the accommodation as splendid as L’Horizon. From our first welcome until we said our tear filled goodbye, the staff at L’Horizon were wonderful. Nothing was too much for them. We were treated to mouth-watering meals by the chef and immaculately kept rooms and grounds by the housekeeping staff. Our driver couldn’t do enough for us and took us wherever we wanted to go day or night. We were staying in a tastefully decorated apartment a few weeks before we went to L’Horizon. But we regretted not spending the whole of our holiday at L’Horizon as we were treated like royalty. Being in such an impressive accommodation further enhanced my overall experience of beautiful Jamaica. Without doubt, we will be returning to Jamaica and the only place we will be staying is at L’Horizon. Once visited, never forgotten.

When we arrived at this property we were completely blown away! The villa is huge! We were shown all the rooms and each one takes your breath away. Each bedroom had AC, flatscreen TV, en-suite bathroom, wardrobe space, dressing table and a safe. Outside does not let you down either, the pool and the grounds are stunning and they have to be the most comfortable sun loungers I have ever had the pleasure of laying on. On top of all of this you have the most generous and wonderful people taking care of you. The lovely Seran who will drive you anywhere at anytime and bring you back at whatever time you require. Some fun and interesting conversations in the car all the way too! And there is Sandra the cook and housekeeper whose smile and greeting makes you feel at home, 'No problem' really is Sandra and Seran's cathphrase but the difference is they really do mean it! She cooked us a lovely birthday dinner - my birthday, what a place to spend your birthday! - containing all the various caribbean delicacies I love, which I had discussed with her casually the day before. She also makes the best salt fish and ackee that I have ever tasted, and I've tasted a lot! There's also a tennis court, swimming pool and a fitness room with a pool table which was fantastic. My two sons (13 & 9) didn't want to leave and loved it when Omar took them to see the (adorable) guard dogs, and so did I. And the beautiful beach nearby which is like a 7-10 minute walk from the villa is like paradise. I can't recommend this villa enough, you won't find anywhere better than this.

I cannot explain how fantastic this villa is, at first I was a bit skeptical as I thought the pictures of the villa was too good to be true, but I must say on arriving it was even better, the villa is immaculate both inside and out. Ms Sandra and Ms Amanda were absolutely fantastic very helpful and friendly, the entire staff was very helpful. I would recommend everyone to go and experience it. I went with my entire family and even my 9 year old son is asking when we are going back. Whenever I go back to Jamaica this is the place I will be staying. The only bad thing was the fact that we had to leave.

Before getting to l'horizon I first exchanged many emails with the owner Barrington Johnson, he was wonderful, and extremely patient!! When we got there (22 friends for springbreak) it was better then expected. The staff was so nice, professional and caring. Thank you especially to Sandra, Miss Kelly and Orrett! Clearly the most amazing holyday i've spent and thanks to l'horizon house, the greatest vibe. Be ready to spend an amazing time

Our group of friends stayed here whilst attending a friend's wedding in one of the resorts in Oche and we were so glad we did! The property is stunning, even the smaller bedrooms are ample, with good en-suite bathrooms. The pool are is really where we lived though; the pool is great for actually swimming laps in, and it has an outdoor sound system that means pool parties would be awesome! But the highlight has to be the welcome from all the staff and, especially, Sandra's food. We had a whole week of great Jamaican cuisine and really felt at home straight away. Finally, Barrington was a pleasure to deal with at all times and all our queries were answered in full, quickly. Massive thanks to all at L'Horizon!

Before we went we'd seen the pictures of the property and thought it looked nice but when we got there we were completely blown away! The villa is huge! We were met by Sandra, Omar and another lady whose name I can't remember. We were shown all the rooms in the villa and given the choice to choose whichever we wanted. As there were only 7 of us (3 couples and another single) we were spoilt for choice for 8 beautiful bedrooms. Each room had AC, flatscreen TV, en-suite bathroom, wardrobe space, dressing table and a safe amongst others. Sandra cooked us a lovely breakfast every morning with eggs, pancakes, sausages, bacon, toast and tea and coffee on the menu. She cooked us lunch and dinner too, she's an amazing cook! If like me you're worried about putting on weight (because of the amazing food) there's a tennis court, swimming pool and a fitness room with a pool table which was fantastic. The entire house was kept spotlessly clean at all times with bedrooms being cleaned and beds changed everyday, clean towels and complimentary bath robes and soap which I couldn't get enough of! There's a huge music system which you can plug your iPod into and blare out your music so don't forget to bring it! There's free wiFi and a first aid kit on site as well as (adorable) guard dogs and Omar who stays at the gates in a small shed to monitor who comes in and out of the premises. There's the beautiful beach nearby which is like a 7-10 minute walk from the villa. If you go to Caliente you can choose your crab or lobster from a cage in the sea. And of course there's Dunns River Falls which you MUST climb!! Overall everyone was so friendly and the staff were more than happy to assist us, always doing so with a smile on their faces. We were absolutely gutted to be leaving but will definitely be recommending it to everyone. This was probably my best holiday as it went above my expectations, if you choose L'Horizon I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

I spent a week at l'horizon with friends. We were in Jamaica for another friend's wedding. From start to finish, the experience was absolutely sensational. Sandra, the chef, was the most accommodating and talented lady one could hope for. And the villa is truly luxurious- even the photos here don't do it justice. You have access to the beach 5 minutes walk away and are a short cab ride from Oche proper and the beautiful Dunn's river. L'horizon offers a relaxing and authentic alternative to the generic all-inclusives nearby (although day passes mean you can see the other side pretty easily). I would have no hesitation recommending this place to all and sundry and my only regret was that i had to come home.

Hi I would like to say a big thank you to all the L’Horizon staff for making our holiday excellent experience, we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived, Firstly we were greeted with a lovely smile and good conversation, and that vibes just continued throughout the holiday. The accommodation was more than we expected, all the rooms are decorated and kept to a high standard throughout, with cot bed provided for our grandchildren. L’Horizon lived up to all our expiration and more, the friendly staff the excellent food, there was not anything that the staff would not do for us. Our day was just sun filled with lovely memories of either relaxing by the pool with a chilled drink in our hands or chilling down by the beach, and when we got back all we had to do was sit back and savour the flavours of the wonderful food that was prepared for us ALL THAT REMAINS TO SAY IS THREE CHEERS TO ALL THE STAFF AT L’HORIZON WHO MADE OUR STAY AMORABLE ONE, AND BE ASURED WE WILL BE BACK.

A Marvellous Holiday...

I stayed at L'Horizon with my partner in August, and it was my first trip to Jamaica. The pictures on the site are right -the house and grounds are stunningly beautiful - and even better than they look on the photos. The interior of the house is light and spacious and spotlessly clean. Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens, and a large bathroom. We particularly enjoyed the poolside area, for sunbathing during the day then floodlit for the evening - perfect for our cocktails and a romantic evening meal, surrounded by the amazing sounds of cicadas chirping in the Jamaican night. The grounds have all kinds of beautiful flora - gorgeous flowers in bright pinks and reds, lush grass underfoot, high foliage giving excellent privacy. We loved the breadfruit, ackee and mango trees - our excellent cook Sandra made us the famous Jamaican "ackee and saltfish" breakfast with ackee picked straight from the garden. As for the roasted breadfruit, just too delicious for words! The private beach is a short walk away and has soft, pale gold sand and turquoise waters that are warm and clear and perfect for swimming. We had a car, and went out and about to explore a bit of Jamaica. The house is well located, and only a short drive away are the famous Dunn's Falls - as any guidebook will tell you, it is the unmissable excurtion to go on. Ocho Rios, again a short drive away, is a pretty town with good local dining. We ventured up along the coast to Port Maria and the scenary was splendid. We had a wonderful and memorable stay at L'Horizon, and we would go there again. We would highly recomend it to friends and family. Thank you especially to the charming owner who made us feel so welcome and at home.

...Second time to Jamaica, first time to L'Horizon and I must say this holiday was better than the first! My departure left me wanting to extend my time on the island. My Holiday in Jamaica was for three and a half weeks with my six month old, 1st time travelling, so i wanted a home from home setting which L'Horizon offered me. A beautiful villa set in a fantastic location, with fantastic staff who became my extended family for my stay there. Our room was cleaned daily, which also overlookd the garden with lush flowers n various other tropical plants. The surrounding features i.e swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Tennis Court were easily accessible, oh and also the indoor gym! ;-) I liked to chill by the poolside on a sunbed listening to my music in comfort, without being disturbed, as you would, in a hotel by other visitors. I also like the private beach not far down the road, food, and the people in Jamaica....One Love! My stay in Mamee Bay, Ochi Rios was very pleasant. On my future visits to Jamaica, I will stay at L'Horizon and have also recommended there to my friends and family a great place to stay!.

L'Horizon is a great place to stay, thats why i go there every year. Its home from home which makes me feel comfortable and relaxed. The rooms are clean and kept in prestine condition. The staff are polite, helpful and friendly, basically everything you could possibly wish for on your vacation to make you feel welcome and at home. L'Horizon's surrounding is tranquil and i spend most days relaxing by the pool or outdoor jacuzzi, and not least to mention our beautiful white sand private beach, roughly 5mins walk from L'Horizon. To end my review I had a fun time at L'Horizon with my gran/daughter and will recommend there to anyone visiting the island. I sure will be goin there again next year!

What a wonderful vacation!! Our family truly enjoyed our stay at Villa L'Horizon. Everyone had a wonderful experience ranging in age from 3 to 64. The property was well maintained and perfect for our family of 16 to relax and enjoy time together. The staff was exceptional and took care of our every need. The meals were a real treat and gave us a wonderful sample of Jamaican cuisine. We are so thankful we hired a driver for the week. It afforded us the opportunity to experience the Dunn's River Falls (a must for everyone), as well as shopping, zip-lining, and more. Our experience at Villa L'Horizon exceeded our expections. We truly experienced a week of no worries, no problems thanks to such a wonderful staff. From young to old we all wanted to extend our stay. Hopefully we will be able to return real soon.

In the first week of December 2007 I celebrated my 60th Birthday at L'Horizon. I was joined by 13 of my family members. Everything was perfect. The staff was excellent and felt like an extension of my family. We would return in a heartbeat.

In 2005, I decided to take my family to Jamaica for Christmas. While researching rental homes, I discovered the gorgeous Villa L'Horizon in Ocho Rios. The pictures attracted my interest, but I was sold by the owner's efficiency and graciousness in preparing to provide the ultimate in customer service. Nothing is overlooked! This beautiful mansion is immaculately maintained, and is EXACTLY, and I do mean "exactly" as it is shown online. Ours was a party of 11 people and we never wanted for anything! We were treated like royalty by the wonderful staff at the Villa. We even had a chauffeur! There is so much to do, you only have to ask. They mean it when they say "No Problem". It was so hard to leave. Some of us cried on our last day. It was the vacation of a lifetime, and we can't wait to return.

We went for 1 week September last year and it was FANTASTIC! The house is beautiful, sweeping staircase, marble floors, high ceiling windows and spacious rooms with your own TV, balcony and ensuite bathroom. The staff were really amazing, very helpful and friendly and if you're worried about pilling on the pounds ...don't, there's a gym overlooking the pool area and gardens. Loved watching the sun go down while relaxing on the Jacuzzi, listening to some Reggae vibes and sipping the famous L'Horizon cocktail. Main sightseeing attractions and Ocho Rios town are a short car journey away. I would definitely go back, 3 weeks this time!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Jamaica and my stay at L'Horizon. It is clean, spacious, safe and private. We (my colleagues and I) were well taken care of by the staff who kept out of sight but where always around the corner when needed. The succulent local food prepared daily was EXCELLENT!!!!!! Hats off to the chef, Miss Kelly. From the ox tail to the roasted breadfruit, we got a true taste of authentic Jamaican home cooking. All the features were there including a large pool, gym, pool table etc. My room had A/C with a flat screen tv on the wall, and was very spacious... with a built -in jacuzzi to boot!! The surroundings were well kept and it was a most comfortable and enjoyable experience! Would definitely go back again and again. ABSOLUTLEY FANTASTIC!

My girlfriend and I stayed at L'Horizon for a week last June and we both found it to be an ideal place to stay and unwind from the stress of work. The staff catered to our every requrement, making sure that our stay was as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. I would definetily stay at L'Horizon again and I have recommended it to all of my friends
