Why the Owner Chose Highlands
I bought my house in Highlands as an investment. The town of Highlands continues to grow and attract a sophisticated yet casual group of successful visitors and home owners. The Highlands community is very cordial and offers everything from live theater to antique shopping and other great retail stores. Highlands Main Street has been called the Worth Avenue of the mountains. Main Street offers everything from screw drivers to fine dining to estate jewelry and home accessories.
The Unique Benefits at this House
High Cotton Cottage offers many great benefits to enjoy during your stay. The cottage is located on a hill which over looks Buck Creek. You can hear the soothing sounds of the creek from my deck and many rooms of the house. The cottage is very cozy and has a stone fireplace with a gas starter. The hot tub on the rear of the house looks off into the woods for total relaxation and enjoyment. The cottage is located in a private neighborhood owned by a group of five families who are all friends.

We had a wonderful time during the holidays staying in the comfortable and cozy cottage! Everything was perfect, from the quiet area (except for the waterfall) to the convenience to town. This home is furnished with nice furnishings and easy to navigate kitchen. The deck looked lovely, and we would have lived on the deck if the weather was warm. You cannot go wrong with this one. Upstairs does have a separate entrance, so is perfect for teens or two families. Gerard was so helpful with recommendations.

Myself and friends visited for a long girls weekend of hiking. The area itself has tons to offer as far as hiking and restaurants. The owner of this place was great to work with and very accomodating. There was virtually everything that you needed from the well stocked kitchen, linens and towels to the hot tub that was great after a long day of hiking. It was wonderful to soak in the tub and then sit in front of a nice fire on a cool night. I would definitely recommend this place to others looking for a nice mountain get-away!

My wife and I stayed at High Cotton Cottage for a week while traveling from Cape Cod back to Naples, Florida. My wife had made all the arrangements via the web. We arrived late in the evening and after a long day of driving enjoyed a nice soak in the hot tub. It was so nice to be able to look up at the stars and listen to the crickets while relaxing in the warm water. The next morning we were greeted by one of our neighbors who recommended a great breakfast spot in town. He also invited us to join him and his other neighbors for a cocktail that afternoon at 5:30 on the community deck. Mary and I were overwhelmed by his generosity and helpfulness. After a day of browsing on Main Street we returned the house and were greeted by the same neighbor reminding us to join him for a drink at 5:30 if we felt like it. Mary and I walked down to the community deck located in the center of the neighborhood and had a glass of wine with several other couples that reside in this quaint, quiet neighborhood. The other neighbors recommended restaurants for dinner and told me where I might could get in a game or two of golf. Mary and I could not have been more pleased with our stay at High Cotton Cottage. The house itself is warm and comfortable with all the modern conveniences you could expect. There is a great deck on the side of the house where I grilled steaks on night while listening to the sound of running water in Buck Creek. I travel a great deal with my company and am very appreciative of kindness and exceptional hospitality while on the road. My stay at High Cotton Cottage is one of the nicest experiences I have ever had while traveling. Mary and I plan to book another week or two at this spot for next summer. If you are looking for an exceptional place to stay that offers a great value for the money, High Cotton Cottage is your answer.

I recently rented High Cotton Cottage for a weekend get a way for my book club. We found this property to be absolutely charming. The house itself is very warm and inviting. The house was well appointed with all the items necessary for a comfortable and enjoyable weekend. The location is perfect for a quiet setting that is close to town and convenient to everything. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Highlands and looking for more than just a hotel room.

We had the best time ever at High Cotton. All the amenties were excellent, especially the fireplace and the bed was soooo comfortable. Very close to the city but far enough away for privacy, It was so quiet and relaxing all the time. The stars were beautiful at night on the deck and Buck Creek was babbling in the background. It snowed one day and was just enoiugh to be beautiful. The owner was very accommodating to all of our needs. A lot of beautiful waterfalls around so venure out to find them. We can't wait to go back soon. Loved it!!!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home. It was well equipped with anything you could possibly need. Upon arrival the home was extremely clean and inviting. We had a mixture of adults, teenagers, and young children and this home accomidated everyone. The neighbors were pleasant and the surroundings were beautiful. It was convenient to downtown and a quick trip to Cashiers. The owner was available for any questions that needed answering. We can't wait to visit again.

We had an excellent weekend at this charming mountain cottage and took advantage of the gas / wood combo fireplace, hot tub, outdoor deck & grill area as well as the fantastically close proximity to Highlands and the trails! The owner had everything fully equipped and stocked, excellent selection of dishware and cookware, complete with both traditional and acrylic wine glasses for indoor and outdoor use. I really just thought it seemed like they thought of everything any visitor might need. We loved it and plan to return!

My girlfriends got together and rented this cottage for a girl's week in October. We were a little nervous about renting something without seeing it first but our fears were quickly releived when we walked in the front door. This house is absolutely precious. From the extra clean bathrooms to the incredibly comfortable beds we were very pleased with our decision. This house is beautifully furnished and came with a well equipped kitchen, nice linens and a wonderful deck. We were less than a five minute drive to main street. We enjoyed the hot tub each evening after a long day of shopping on main street. The neighbors were very nice and gave us dinning suggestions. We had such a great visit that we are planning to rent this house again next year.

My husband and I rented this cottage in June for a week. The house is very nice and was very clean. The owner has gone the extra mile to make his place comfortable and cozy. I am very picky about details and was pleasantly surprised at how well equipped this house is. The kitchen came with everything I needed to cook with and alot of serving accessories that I used to entertain friends with for cocktails. The bed was very comfortable and appeared to be new. The bathroom was beautiful and very clean. I am a stickler for nice towels and this place has great, fluffy towels. My husband grilled several times during our stay and we enjoyed sitting and entertaining on the deck. You can hear the nearby creek from the deck. The neighbors were very nice and we feel like we have made new friends. I would recommend this house without hesitation to anyone visiting Highlands. We plan to rent here again next season.

My husband and I stayed at this property recently when we visited Highlands. The house was very clean and fully equipped. The house is in a small group of homes near the hospital and was a great location for us. We were just minutes from main street. The owner was prompt in responding to our email and also gave us restaurant recommendations for the area. This house is very cozy and comfortable. It was nice to hear the water in the creek as we sat on the deck and grilled. The decor is warm and inviting. The house has everything that you would expect and then some. I plan to rent this property again next summer for a week or two. I have also referred this house to several of my friends who plan to visit Highlands.
