My husband and two daughters surprised me with a Mother's Day trip to Highlands! We left Vinings Friday afternoon and arrived at this property in just 2.5 hours. This cottage is very close to town and was very easy to find. The house itself was very comfortable with nice furnishings. We all loved sitting on the deck and listening to creek. The cottage has every modern convenience you could want from flat screen televion to central heat and air. All the linens were nice and fresh and the beds were ever so comfortable. My husband and I are looking forward to coming back here for our anniversary in March and using the stone fireplace. We all loved this cottage!

My sister, son, niece and I just spent a glorious weekend at High Cotton Cottage. This cozy cottage was a great place for a mini family reunion. We found the cottage to be very clean, comfortable and equipped with all the modern conveniences we wanted. The carpet had just been cleaned and the upstairs bedroom had just had a new queen mattress delivered shortly before our arrival. We all enjoyed the fireplace and my son and niece especially enjoyed the hot tub. This was my first time renting through VRBO and I am very pleased with my accomodations. The owner of this property went out of his way to be accomodating to us. I would recommend this cottage to any one visiting Highlands. You can't find a better location.

We had a wonderful time during the holidays staying in the comfortable and cozy cottage! Everything was perfect, from the quiet area (except for the waterfall) to the convenience to town. This home is furnished with nice furnishings and easy to navigate kitchen. The deck looked lovely, and we would have lived on the deck if the weather was warm. You cannot go wrong with this one. Upstairs does have a separate entrance, so is perfect for teens or two families. Gerard was so helpful with recommendations.

Myself and friends visited for a long girls weekend of hiking. The area itself has tons to offer as far as hiking and restaurants. The owner of this place was great to work with and very accomodating. There was virtually everything that you needed from the well stocked kitchen, linens and towels to the hot tub that was great after a long day of hiking. It was wonderful to soak in the tub and then sit in front of a nice fire on a cool night. I would definitely recommend this place to others looking for a nice mountain get-away!

My wife and I stayed at High Cotton Cottage for a week while traveling from Cape Cod back to Naples, Florida. My wife had made all the arrangements via the web. We arrived late in the evening and after a long day of driving enjoyed a nice soak in the hot tub. It was so nice to be able to look up at the stars and listen to the crickets while relaxing in the warm water. The next morning we were greeted by one of our neighbors who recommended a great breakfast spot in town. He also invited us to join him and his other neighbors for a cocktail that afternoon at 5:30 on the community deck. Mary and I were overwhelmed by his generosity and helpfulness. After a day of browsing on Main Street we returned the house and were greeted by the same neighbor reminding us to join him for a drink at 5:30 if we felt like it. Mary and I walked down to the community deck located in the center of the neighborhood and had a glass of wine with several other couples that reside in this quaint, quiet neighborhood. The other neighbors recommended restaurants for dinner and told me where I might could get in a game or two of golf. Mary and I could not have been more pleased with our stay at High Cotton Cottage. The house itself is warm and comfortable with all the modern conveniences you could expect. There is a great deck on the side of the house where I grilled steaks on night while listening to the sound of running water in Buck Creek. I travel a great deal with my company and am very appreciative of kindness and exceptional hospitality while on the road. My stay at High Cotton Cottage is one of the nicest experiences I have ever had while traveling. Mary and I plan to book another week or two at this spot for next summer. If you are looking for an exceptional place to stay that offers a great value for the money, High Cotton Cottage is your answer.

I recently rented High Cotton Cottage for a weekend get a way for my book club. We found this property to be absolutely charming. The house itself is very warm and inviting. The house was well appointed with all the items necessary for a comfortable and enjoyable weekend. The location is perfect for a quiet setting that is close to town and convenient to everything. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Highlands and looking for more than just a hotel room.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home. It was well equipped with anything you could possibly need. Upon arrival the home was extremely clean and inviting. We had a mixture of adults, teenagers, and young children and this home accomidated everyone. The neighbors were pleasant and the surroundings were beautiful. It was convenient to downtown and a quick trip to Cashiers. The owner was available for any questions that needed answering. We can't wait to visit again.

We had an excellent weekend at this charming mountain cottage and took advantage of the gas / wood combo fireplace, hot tub, outdoor deck & grill area as well as the fantastically close proximity to Highlands and the trails! The owner had everything fully equipped and stocked, excellent selection of dishware and cookware, complete with both traditional and acrylic wine glasses for indoor and outdoor use. I really just thought it seemed like they thought of everything any visitor might need. We loved it and plan to return!

My husband and I stayed at this property recently when we visited Highlands. The house was very clean and fully equipped. The house is in a small group of homes near the hospital and was a great location for us. We were just minutes from main street. The owner was prompt in responding to our email and also gave us restaurant recommendations for the area. This house is very cozy and comfortable. It was nice to hear the water in the creek as we sat on the deck and grilled. The decor is warm and inviting. The house has everything that you would expect and then some. I plan to rent this property again next summer for a week or two. I have also referred this house to several of my friends who plan to visit Highlands.

We had the best time ever at High Cotton. All the amenties were excellent, especially the fireplace and the bed was soooo comfortable. Very close to the city but far enough away for privacy, It was so quiet and relaxing all the time. The stars were beautiful at night on the deck and Buck Creek was babbling in the background. It snowed one day and was just enoiugh to be beautiful. The owner was very accommodating to all of our needs. A lot of beautiful waterfalls around so venure out to find them. We can't wait to go back soon. Loved it!!!

Cottage was very clean. Upstairs was completly separate so consider this if traveling with children that need supervision. It is only accessed by outside steps. Pet friendly, which was great. Ample firewood for fireplace. Hot tub was not as clean as it should have been, I chose not to use it. Kitchen was stocked with everything imaginable. Even papertowels. Grill was very nice. There are close neighbors which are not depicted in the photo. This was not a problem for us but if you want privacy look elsewhere. I had to make the bed myself but at least I was sure I had fresh linens (lol, trying to stay positive) I will stay here again all things being said. The owner was very nice and helpful and was on site when we arrived to answer any questions.

My girlfriends got together and rented this cottage for a girl's week in October. We were a little nervous about renting something without seeing it first but our fears were quickly releived when we walked in the front door. This house is absolutely precious. From the extra clean bathrooms to the incredibly comfortable beds we were very pleased with our decision. This house is beautifully furnished and came with a well equipped kitchen, nice linens and a wonderful deck. We were less than a five minute drive to main street. We enjoyed the hot tub each evening after a long day of shopping on main street. The neighbors were very nice and gave us dinning suggestions. We had such a great visit that we are planning to rent this house again next year.

I spent Labor day weekend at this cottage and was thrilled with the accommodations, from the travertine tile bath to the granite countertops and vanity. The hot tub and wood burning fireplace was a perfect setting for a romantic holiday with my husband. What a unexpected pleasure it was. I found the location to be excellent with only a 3 minute drive to Main St and a 20 minute drive to Cashiers. I would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in visiting the Highlands!!

Garrards's cozy Highlands retreat is exactly as advertised; actually ,it was even more comfortable and charming than we expected. We had rented it for the month of August. We invited two other couples to enjoy the new upstairs bedroom suite so we had a house party and a great time was had by all. We particular enjoyed the great beds and very comfortable easy chair and two couches in front of the TV. The kitchen lacked for nothing! The newly decorated bathroom on the first floor was well done with an easy step-in shower. Very safe. The location is calm and bosky, truly just a short 2.7 miles from the center of town. Excellent restaurants abound with uptown menus (and prices). We enjoyed cooking in, provisioned by the very good local grocery stores. This is a charming, cozy cottage at a real bargain! Thanks, Garrard! John & jeanne

At over 4000' elevation, this is the perfect spot to escape the South Georgia summer heat! We felt completely at ease in this well furnished and beautifully decorated home--as we have before when staying here. There's something going on in Highlands EVERY day ---something for the outdoorsman, shopper, artist, musician, animal lover, gourmet, hiker, antiques lover, theater goer.......something for everyone! Or just relax on the deck with a good book and enjoy the peace and quiet with nothing to hear but the birds and the waterfall. The owner is always making things even better than before-----the downstairs bath rennovation is gorgeous ----the new mattress was SO comfortable that we bought two new ones just like it for our home! It just doesn't get any better than being in this particular vacation home .........we'll be back! Again and again and again ..................

My husband and I rented your quaint little cottage July 12 - 16,2010. What a terrific find this turned out to be. We loved the convenience of the location and the quiet neighborhood was a real plus. Everything was up to date and the furnishings were very nice. I can't say enough about opening the windows at night and listening to the soothing sounds of Buck Creek. The master bath was very nice as well and I thought the tile work in the shower looked terrific. We really loved the place and hope to rent it again next year. Highlands has tons of appeal with all it has to offer and your place is right at the top of the list. Get that hot tub ready because we will be coming back! Becky from Virginia

My wife and I rented this cottage in early July for a couple of days. When we saw that the local hotels wanted even more than this place's nightly rate this was a no brainer. The owner responded to our email within a couple of hours and was very helpful. We booked our stay and were very happy with our accomodations once we arrived. This house is in a private neighborhood of 6 homes all owned by a group of friends. The neighbors could not have been nicer and helped us find local restaurants and great hiking trails. The hot tub was terrific after a long day of hiking! We only used the downstairs of this house. The bed was very comfortable and there was a flat screen TV in the bedroom. The bathroom was very nice with a great tile shower and a granite countertop vanity. The den was great with a wood burning fireplace and a cable TV. There was also internet service so we could stay in touch with the kids. This place is very cozy and comfortable. We will definately be back next chance we get. Why rent a hotel when you can get a bedroom, hot tub, fireplace and a grill for the same price if not less!

I enjoyed grilling steaks out on the deck while listening to the creek. The hot tub was very nice after a day of hiking. I plan to stay here again this fall.

Just got home from a delightful Father's Day weekend at High Cotton Cottage. We can't say enough how perfect this property is! From the picturesque setting to the soothing (& immaculate) hot tub to the ultra-plush beds, it is wonderful! The close proximity to quaint downtown Highlands and the magnificent natural wonders of the Smoky Mtns make it the best deal around. Thanks, Garrard for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!

My husband and I rented this cottage in June for a week. The house is very nice and was very clean. The owner has gone the extra mile to make his place comfortable and cozy. I am very picky about details and was pleasantly surprised at how well equipped this house is. The kitchen came with everything I needed to cook with and alot of serving accessories that I used to entertain friends with for cocktails. The bed was very comfortable and appeared to be new. The bathroom was beautiful and very clean. I am a stickler for nice towels and this place has great, fluffy towels. My husband grilled several times during our stay and we enjoyed sitting and entertaining on the deck. You can hear the nearby creek from the deck. The neighbors were very nice and we feel like we have made new friends. I would recommend this house without hesitation to anyone visiting Highlands. We plan to rent here again next season.

My whole family, 5 teens, my husband myself and our 2 dogs all fit comfortably! It snowed all weekend and we had the whole place to ourselves. The driveway to the complex makes a great sled run! The house was comfortable and in good condition. We used the kitchen to do all the cooking for our New Years party. There is a very nice grocery store nearby. The owner was very nice to work with and easy to get in touch with if needed. We had a great time and would do it again!

High Cotton Cottage is a great place to spend a vacation. I have rented this cottage for a month for the past two years. The location and setting makes High Cotton Cottage a great value. The neighbors here are fantastic and made my stay that much more enjoyable! I only stay at places that allow my pet and High Cotton Cottage came complete with a pooper scooper and dog bowls for food and water in the kitchen. I look forward to staying here again.
