  We’ve heard so much about the Calypso resort towers from a friend before. Now we got to see what all the buzz was about. The place is huge! Brand new, with luxurious rooms! Those units look like well-spaced houses. Our condo looked very cheerful and warm, was tidy and fresh, and also came with beach chairs and umbrellas. The furniture in the unit was brand new, or at least felt like it. The condo was located right next to Pier Park, a new popular place to shop and dine. We didn’t have to be stuck in traffic and look for a parking spot during this busy season. Very good location, especially, for a family with children. Highly recommend.

  Calypso by far is the best resort we have visited in Panama City Beach. It is a relatively new building that is located right on the beach by a very busy shopping plaza called Pier Park. Luxurious, convenient, and a pleasure to rent. The property is meant to be the perfect getaway place for families with kids. A place where moments of joy are made and shared. All I can say about the unit is meets all the expectations, clean and organized.Highly recommend.

  Calypso is a new resort that is located right by Pier Park shopping center. Our families got together and vacationed there during this summer. The place is outstanding! Brand new, huge, waterfront, spotless, has everything to accomodate 8 people, has a heated pool (which is important if you travel during winter), a hot tub, and the perk that adults love: a Tiki bar right between the pools so we all could have a great time=) One of the great parts about staying here is the fact that you don't have to be stuck in trafic trying to get to Pier or Pier Park: you can simply walk there! Made great memories at Calypso and highly recommend this place!

  The condo was fashionably decorated and outfitted with every amenity I could imagine. We were travelling with a crawling infant so I was concerned about cleanliness. This place was immaculate. The kitchen was outfitted with all the tools to make a meal for 4 or more which worked out well for us.Close to Pier Park. It is modern and family park.We had a good time.

  Calypso is one of the biggest resort in Panama City Beach and it is located accross the road from Pier Park. This was our first time staying there and I am sure it will not be the last. We will use the same company again to rent. Condo we have rented was awesome, very clean and comfortable beds, especially bunk room was perfect for kids.Master bedroom has own private entrance to the balcony. We really enjoyed it.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

  We have taken many vacations and stayed at many different places. This was one of the best vacations we have ever taken. The property is breath taking. We are looking forward to come back next year with friends This is a family friendly resort that truly made us feel at home. Condo is clean and beds are comfortable. We loved it.

  Had a tremendous experience renting this condo for our vacation last October. We were very pleased with the unit and also just working with Bob. We had never rented through VRBO and I had a lot of questions and Bob was very attentive and answered all of my questions quickly and thoroughly. The unit was exactly as presented in the adverstisement. I was so pleased with working with Bob, I am again seeking his services to schedule my vacation for next month!

  Gorgeous wood floors, breathtaking views of the beach and of Pier Park. Our vacation was the BEST it could have been. Views in the front and back of your condo can't be beat. The resort is safe, family oriented, clean, stylis, and located perfectly in walking distance to so many things. Also, a extra benefit was the two beach chairs and umbrella awaiting us each day. Just be sure to reserve it as soon as you arrive on Saturday afternoon, or early 7:00 a.m. ish Sunday morning so you can be on th front row. We would definitely stay here again. Loved it!

  This condo is great but it is absolutely NOT Pet Friendly. My family and I booked a week here and was told it was okay to bring our dog. However, the Hotel Management (Homeowner's Association) evicted us and did not care that we had a signed agreement or if we had anywhere else to go. The condo was perfect and we were extremely disappointed. Apparently there was a misunderstanding about the property. We were moved to another Hotel which was nice enough but did not have all the extras that this Hotel offered nor did my husband get to fish off the pier which he had really been looking forward to. The irony of it is that on the otherside of the pier which is right next door - the BEACH IS PET FRIENDLY. Go figure. The end result is that 2 days of our vacation was ruined (we had to pack up and move, and unpack - and since I always reclean and rewash all the dishes that we intend to use everywhere I stay no matter how clean it looks I had to clean TWICE!) And since my daughter, her husband, and grandchildren had to leave after 5 days we never really recovered from this awful and humiliating experience. A rental agency assisted us so I don't know if the owner had anything to do with it. And in all fairness, I will say that the condo itself was awesome! The location is perfect if you want to be somewhere that you can walk to restaurants, shops, etc. Which made moving even more disappointing. I still cannot hardly believe this really happened to us.

  Owner response: We feel that posting this review on on VRBO is not appropriate since it was directed toward the resort and not the condo represented on this listing. Without notification The Resort’s Homeowners Assoc. changed their policy regarding small dogs which previously were allowed with owner’s permission. They even banned owners from having their own dogs. We and the owner of the condo did everything we could to try to get the new rule waived for this guest for one week but the President of the HOA told the General Manager that she would lose her job if any dogs were seen on the property. To make this right for the guests we upgraded them from a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo to a much more expensive 4 bedroom 3 bath condo in a nearby pet friendly resort at no extra charge. This resort has nice amenities not found at the original resort including an indoor pool parking under the building rather than across the street and the condo is much bigger and newer. We gave the guests a $200.00 credit (not mentioned in the review) for their inconvenience. And we also sent three people to help them move to the new location which was less than 3/4 of a mile to the east and still close to the fishing pier and Pier Park. This was all accomplished in about two hours. Not only did the upgrade condo have more bedrooms and baths it also came with a set of two free beach chairs a $30/ day value that we included at no charge. I really don’t know what to say about the guest’s comment that “I always reclean the condo and rewash all the dishes that we intend to use everywhere I stay no matter how clean it looks” but in the same breath she said “The condo was perfect” other than to say Thank you for the nice compliment about our condos and you can be the judge about her always re-cleaning a condo on vacation? In Summary: We deeply regret the entire situation but it was totally out of our control. We feel that this negative posting would have been better suited on another travel website and written against the resort rather than against this individual condo. We do not know what more we could have done to make it right for the guests? If you do not have a pet please note that the guest did say "the condo itself was awesome! The location is perfect" so what more could we ask for in a 5 star review?

  This was a wonderful condo! When we arrived the condo looked exactly as in the photo's. Tastefully decorated. The master bedroom was awesome, the bed was very comfortable, the master bath was very nice! Huge balcony, with beautiful views! Bob was very nice, explaining everything. So easy, just park in the parking deck, go straight to your condo, no hassle. It went so smooth, easiest check in ever. The fastest elevators I have ever been on in a condo, makes staying up high a pleasure. My husband and two children loved this condo so much, we have already book a week for April 2011! The pools are great! The kids enjoyed them as much as the beach, we enjoyed the beach chairs and umbrella everyday. Very nice beach staff, that calls you by name! The condo is just across the street from pier park, a unique outdoor shopping mall, restaurants, the the pier is all within walking distance. Overall the stay was absolutely wonderful, very clean, tastefully decorated condo, with plenty of pots, pans, and utensils, for those eat in nights. Looking forward to staying again!
