Our condo in the Pines at Keystone has unobstructed views to the west. Sit in front of the fireplace or on the large deck and see the sun set over Buffalo Mountain or watch golfers walk past on the 5th hole of the River Course, one of the best golf courses in Colorado and ranked highly for women nationally. We also see fox, otter and eagles.
The kids love hiking down a short hill to Snake River; mom finds a lovely paved bike trail next to the river where she can cruise around Summit County. Dad's favorite restaurant in the world is The Ranch a few minutes away, but the supermarket in nearby Dillon is huge if you want to cook. Our kitchen has a crock pot, vegetable steamer, coffee and tea pots plus all the necessities. There is a breakfast bar and the dining table seats eight. The table on the deck seats four and Dad prefers to smoke his cigar there. It's a minute walk for everyone to the indoor pool or the bus to the mountain. The bus takes 5 minutes during the winter. Peace and quiet are more prevalent at the Pines than in other condo buildings. The field between the condo and the golf course is great for kids.
The decor is Colorado West with touches of Spanish and Native American. The beds are really comfortable, even the pullout queen in front of the fireplace. The master has a king and the second bedroom has two singles. There are drawers full of games and books for kids and adults. The water is always hot.
Keystone and Dillon feature great shopping, even outlets, a large movie cinema and many restaurants. We find the staff, ski patrol and ski teachers at the mountain to be enthusiastic, knowledgeable and great with kids or adult students. |
