Nestled in the hills above the Silverado Resort, the Wine Getaway is a secluded Napa Valley 3,200 sq. ft. vacation home located fifteen to twenty minutes from top wine-country activities. The home is set amid 22 acres, with 4 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon vines. The property features three bedrooms, with King size beds, and three baths, 2 full and one half. Plus there is a separate guest house with one Queen bed and a kitchen and bath. This country style home will accomodate a maximum of 8 persons.
This is a perfect getaway if you love open spaces, a beautiful setting and want to be off the beaten path. There are resident birds at the lakes, such as a blue heron, an egret and a king fisher. Ducks and geese also visit on a regular basis. There are often turtles and we see otters from time to time.
The property is 7.5 miles up a paved and pleasantly windy road above the Silverado Country Club Resort. It is about 10 minutes to the Soda Creek Market and a little further to town. Several of the closest wineries are Clos Du Val, Stags Leap, Luna and the Pine Ridge Winery on the Silverado Trail. They are app. 8 miles, or fifteen minutes away.

This property appealed to us with the lakes and delightful birds and wildlife, as well as several vistas of the Cabernet vineyards on this large 22 acre property.
The Unique Benefits of this Home and vineyard
You will find this a peaceful retreat away from it all. Some of the residents include the egret, blue heron, some geese, turkeys, quail, muscrat, an otter, and various breeds of ducks, depending on the season.
There are bass in the lakes as well, so some fishing is allowed.
Enjoy taking time to visit wineries, a few of the closest being in the Napa area, Yountville and Oakville. Ask us for suggestions to local wineries and restaurants.

We had such a nice time RELAXING at the home! We had big plans to visit many wineries and explore Napa, but spent most of our time in and around the pool. McKenna enjoyed Bocce Ball and walking the trail to the lake. Riley was a big fan of the home floor plan-walking around and pointing things out to us. We enjoyed long naps and a glass of wine by the pool. This is our first time away from the main drag of Napa-what a great area! We really enjoyed the views and peace. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

We had a great stay. Everybody really liked the house(s) and property. It was very peaceful and quite beautiful. The pool was particularly nice on the weekend when the temperature was in the 90s. The weather the rest of the week was just about perfect... thanks for that! We walked up the road to the end almost every morning... just over three miles round trip. We saw deer and lots of interesting birds including some turkeys. We played bocce ball too. I am happy to report that there were no serious domestic disputes since it was the guys vs. the gals. We went to San Francisco one day to see the world-famous Bush Man and eat sand dabs at Scoma's. Also, drove over to Sonoma one day to visit some of the wineries there. We tasted lots of nice wines but none any better as the excellent bottle you left for us; it was much appreciated and enjoyed. Thanks for everything, Marcie. We highly recommend Dos Lagos for anybody seeking a lovely and peaceful get-away in the heart of California wine country. Best regards, Dave

Dear Marcie, Our stay was perfect; we just loved the property. We spent a lot of time there, as it turned out, playing games, barbequeing, etc. We loved our walks around the lakes and down and up Atlas Peak Rd. The birds were wonderful company. We certainly enjoyed our stay at your house. It is an immaculately kept house, something that we appreciate very much. The location is super, up the road from Napa, yet so close in all important aspects; the privacy is a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of Napa/Sonoma below. The visit to Susan's place was an amazing insight into the highest levels of boutique winemaking. Our only regret is that we did not have the time to explore the area in more detail- there is easily a month's worth of visiting wineries, restaurants, galleries, etc. Next time, eh? The style of the house is the perfect antidote to the cross-country ordeal of all-the-same hotels and and chain eateries. We were able to cook and grille whatever, and totally relax. Lots of birds, gorgeous pool, the ambiance of the grapevines, the list goes on and on. Even the vineyard workers, who might ordinarily be deemed a disturbance, merely added to the authenticity of the entire experience. Marcie, Everything has worked out great and the place is fantastic! The house is amazing! We felt very secluded yet were close to anything we could need. Beautiful grounds with spectacular views. Thank you! We have to ask, what kind of sheets do you have in the master bedroom and where did you get them? It makes it very tough to get out of bed in the morning.
