I returned to this apartment in August after having had such a wonderful stay a couple of years ago, and was glad to find it as perfect as I remembered. Our trip this year was with my parents who had never visited Paris and so the apartment was ideal with it's central location perfect for the cities many sights and attractions. With the beautiful August weather we were able to walk all over town taking in the famous Parisian atmosphere, though when we did need the Metro it was only a couple of minutes from the front door. The apartment was spotlessly clean on our arrival and quickly felt like a home from home. Sam was very helpful throughout the booking process and our stay providing lots of useful tips and information on the amenities close to the apartment. We had a great time and my parents are already talking about booking for next year!

Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Owner response: Thank you so much for your review. It was a real pleasure hosting you again in our apartment. It would be wonderful to see you back again next year! Best regards, Sam

My almost-70 year old parents and I stayed for a week in this great little apartment and the short review is "it's great". As mentioned throughout the reviews the six flights of stairs are a bit of a challenge but are easily outweighed when you reach the apartment- it's quiet and secure on the 6th floor and the rooftop views are charming. The street scene is a tiny bit industrial as most the ground floors on the surrounding streets are textile shops- but it's safe and quiet- and has a very local feel to it. Sentier metro station is a 2 minute walk door-to-door and you can easily hail a cab the same distance. Having two, separate bedrooms is great and the common area/kitchen are comfortable. It's also a five minute walk to Rue Montorguiel, a wonderful area that seems to be predominently populated by friendly locals. The restaurants and markets are very good and there's a lot of variety. For walkers this is an ideal starting point- you're at Louvre in 15 minutes- Pompiduo and Opera in 10- very central to big attractions. Samantha provides great tips for your transit and stay- and be sure to take her up on the Roissybus into the city from CDG- super easy and very affordable. Quick tip- If you're from a country that doesn't have smart chips on your debit or credit cards bring some money to exchange at the airport as many of the ATMs don't accept traditional debit cards, nor did the RER/Roissybus machine. This seems to be an increasingly Paris issue- and clearly not a reflection on the cute apartment.

Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Owner response: Thank you for the detailed review. Yes I agree the rooftop view is beautiful and soooo Paris! Delighted you had a super time. Take care, Best regards, Sam

I stayed here with my son and daughter the last week of February 2011. We found the apartment clean, well equipped (with a dishwasher and washing machine) and it felt warm and cosy. The beds were comfortable and it was very peaceful and quiet at night. We loved the beamed ceilings and wooden floors. The apartment was very near to many of the attractions in Paris and only a few minutes from the metro. Also there was a little supermarket across the road from the metro so it was easy to get provisions. It was very easy to reach the apartment from the CDG airport. There are several methods to reach it. We arrived at 2E terminal and caught the Rossybus from point no.5 to Opera and then it was 3 stops on the metro to Sentier. It cost 9 euros 40 and was straightforward. You can pay the driver. The area surrounding the apartment is very nice and has one of the oldest streets and is full of character. On the other hand, walk a little further and you come to an underground shopping area which connects to the train station Chatelet les Halles. This shopping area is amazing. It also has a cinema and swimming pool. We were able to walk to Notre Dame, the Louvre and the first day walked along the River Seine to the Eiffle Tower. Another day we caught a metro to the Arc de Triomphe (excellent view from top)and then walked up the Champs-Elysees to the Concorde (rode on ferris wheel) and then walked along to the Louvre and from there home. The apartment is on the 6th floor with no lift but you soon get used to the staircase. I found it no problem and I am over 60 years. Samantha (the owner) was very helpful before we came and provided us with all the necessary information and tips and advice. There are also lots of leaflets and books on Paris in the apartment which we found very useful. This apartment is very centrally located and we enjoyed our stay very much.

We were delighted to find this apartment which fitted the description on the web in every respect. Five of us, my daughter, her 3 teenage children and myself spent a very memorable week here in January 2011. The 2 girls were so impressed they think they would like to live there. It is in a top location, walking distance to almost everything and each evening we would walk home through the Montorgueil market and buy all sorts of 'goodies' to take home for snacks. The stairs are a bit of a challenge with suitcases but once they were out of the way they were no trouble. In fact, after a few days of using he stairs, our climb up the Eyeful tower was 'a piece of cake', it also avoided the queue. It was a very busy week, taking in all the sights as it was a first trip to Paris for the children and also we managed a trip to Versailles, such a lovely day, the lakes were frozen with white swans sliding on the ice and snow on the ground. The gardens must be beautiful in summer. Samantha is very helpful and responded to all my queries by return email. We also took her suggestion and used the train to and from the airport to Les Halles. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment and would love to stay there again. Owner response: Thank you so much for the lovely review. It would be a pleasure to host you again in our apartment. All my best wishes to you and the family, Very best regards, Samantha

Many people we spoke to said that 2 weeks in Paris was too much and you will be bored. LOL We could have spent a month and still kept busy seeing the sights. They also said very expensive ...not really, We were 3 adults and 2 teenagers (2 adults were over 65). Because we were 5 a hotel was not a choice so then we looked for other choices. Someone suggested Home Away From Home so we started looking at the listings. The only listing with lots of great comments was 2 Mulhouse. This place is clean, smoke free, all the appliances are Whirlpool, The stairs were a challenge to the old folks but they did not complain, but did take their getting up while the teenagers ran up all 120 stepswithout a thought. Very secure door at the top floor met us on arrival. Entering we were surprised at how well the pictures had depicted the appartment. All the windows open on the courtyard at the rear, very quiet place. The bathroom shower was a new conept for us Canadians; one tap controls temperature the other tap water flow. Beautiful concert music plays while your in the bathroom, The owners are concert musician we found out. We did not come to Paris to cook our own meals. We ate out the whole time except for morning coffee with the provide coffeemaker. Around the corner from the appartment is Montrogueil St which has many cafe style resturant. For breakfast we tried a couple but settled into Rocher Cancale about halfway down the street on the left. It is a historic bulding and cafe(1600's). They had the best coissants and OJ freshly sqeezed not from a box and 50 cent less than others nearby. For suppers we went all over the West Bank. Gallopins,Commercre(great cunards), MacDonalds(yes in Paris), Eiffel Tower, Rive Droite, Paris Beaubourg($15/cheeseburger). Recommend the green open top bus tour the fisrt day. They drive various routes but your one fare /day covers all of them. You can get off at any stop and board again anywhere during that 24 hours. There is a commentary in your choosen language though earphone you get on boarding. The churchs are all worth seeing just for the stained glass windows, a must is Versailles, the metro system is quick and the railroad out there is an extension of the metro. Buy lots of tickets. The louvre is emmense. Get the voice tour machine for here and Versailles, without then you can get lost. There is a GPS in the Louvre one. Call Samantha if there is a problem or a question on any thing SHE KNOWS PARIS

We were graciously welcomed by Samantha, who gave us great information on the area, particularly the cambio where the exchange rate was really good. Two couples, we chose this location for closeness to Rue du Montorguiel. We spent so much on this street, walking, shopping the two grocery stores, eating at the Italian pizza place and the Bistro des Petits Carreaux. Visited daily Collette's Patisserie and enjoyed a basic chicken dinner at the Indian cafe. One night we picked up a roasted chicken and next door we found nice fresh green beans. Took it all back to our apt. and enjoyed our bargain meal. This apartment is a great find. The washing machine was a big plus, the beds comfortable and the kitchen area most adequate. Only factor to really consider is the 120 stairs, as we had to stop at each landing to rest and our husbands never did get better at it. Samantha is easy to work with, quick to respond to emails, and everything was just as it was promised. What a great way to experience Paris!

It was our first time in Paris, we have two teenagers. We loved the appartement ! It is very well located we walked to the Louvre, Notre-Dame, The Opera etc...We did'nt want to spend a fortune on the lodging and found this very good quality/price place. We where happy to have Internet (WiFi would have been nice). Samantha made the reservation easy. Would recomanded to anyone who is OK with clibing the stairs to the sixth floor. For us it was our late evening workout. The area is quiet and their is a very nice market 1 minute walk from the appartment. We really enjoyed our stay !

Stairs were a little challenging after a long day of sightseeing-mostly for our younger children. Location and accomodations were great-close to metro and wonderful shopping/market area. Though we did not meet in person, Sam was quick to call and check and see if we'd settled in and all was ok. Had a fabulous weekend in Paris!

Six of us visited Paris and stayed at the apartment for my daughter's 18th birthday. We loved the great central location and walked pretty well everywhere. When we needed to use the Metro it was minutes away. The shops and restaurants are so convenient you didn't have to walk far to find somewhere nice to eat after a long day sightseeing. By the end of our visit we had even got used to the stairs! Sam was really helpful during our very smooth booking and stay. Thank you very much. We look forward to returning next year to try and see more of Paris. Debbie & Family, Birmingham

Loads of good things to say about this place. Sam, the owner, communicates well and is very helpful. She lives locally and can provide lots of useful tips about how to get the best out of Paris. (best tip - get your Disney tickets from the Virgin store in town or at the Louvre centre 5 days before you visit, because they are half the price of tickets bought on the day). The extensive comments in the guests book are also most instructive, particularly about the immediate areas around the flat. The flat is ideally place for exploring central Paris. There is no parking at the flat but I found the cheapest public car park in Paris was about 3 miles away at the junction of Rue Gaston Tessier and Rue de Crimee (web site of parkingsdeparis) . I dropped the family at the flat and ran back - each to his own, but the closer to the centre you are the more expensive parking becomes. You can walk everywhere around Paris as we did - alternatively there are three different tube line stations within a 5 minute walk of the flat. Local shops are great and the pedestrianised Rue Montorgueil seems famous for its food shops. The flat is on the 6th floor, approx 100 steps up a beautiful and original wooden staircase. There are two separate bedroooms and a good double sofa bed in the living room. It sleeps 6 but it's a small flat with one bathroom so beware it'll be a tight fit. Kitchen is good with everything we wanted - bathroom is ok, although the shower drain blocked up too easilly and because the window was fixed closed it became very steamy. Comfy beds and pleasant features and fittings creating a good atmosphere and relaxing feeling. The only views are of the inner courtyard, but it means the place is incredibly quiet with no traffic noise at all. Free phone and internet access if you bring your own LT. We really enjoyed it and were happy to put up with the trek upstairs in lieu of travelling in from the suburbs daily. The Louvre is a 10 minute walk away, the Effiel tower is probably 45 minutes walk away - i ran there and back before breakfast one day. Having looked at web sites for many Paris appartments this one seemed good value to us and we would use it again.

Owner response: Thank you for the review. Very impressed you ran to the Eiffel Tower! We are delighted you enjoyed the apartment and its location. It is très Parisienne and in a fabulous spot. Space: In terms of Paris center, 57m2 is above average and a good sized apartment. Most Paris apartments only have one bathroom. Shower works perfectly as we asked our cleaner to pour down a special product. Again merci beaucoup!
